At the time of the accident the weather was rainy and the road surfaced was wet. Watertown Street is owned and maintained by the City of Newton. Upon arrival I spoke with the operator of the City of Newton DPW truck identified as Kelvin Sanders. Kelvin stated he was operating MAR REG M2526A travelling east on Watertown Street. Kelvin stated a parked vehicle on his right opened the drivers side door and struck the passenger side mirror of his truck causing minor damage. The operator of the parked vehicle identified as George Hoffman stated he was parked and opened his drivers side door and was unsure if he struck the DPW truck or the DPW truck struck his door. Minor damage to the drivers side door and panel were photographed as well as the minor damage to the DPW truck. No injuries were reported and all vehicles were able to leave the scene without further incident.
