Upon arrival I observed the vehicle had backed from a parking spot at 188 Florence Street into the rear building of 160 Boylston Street striking the gas meter. I could hear and smell gas coming from the meter and immediately cleared the reporting party from the area and requested the assistance of Sgt. McNeil, Fire Dept, National Grid and Maintenence from the Avalon (160 Boylston Street). Fire arrived on scene and was able to slow the leak of the gas and I was able to speak with the reporting party identified as SANFORD Troy. Troy states that he is an employee at 188 Florence Street and got to work a little early this morning. He states that he stayed in his car awaiting the start of his shift and must have fallen asleep with his foot on the brakle and the transmission still in reverse. When he fell asleep he states his foot must have come off the brake causing him to back into the gas meter of 160 Boylston Street. The impact not only damaged the gas meter, but also did damage to the rear center of Troy's vehicle. Through my observations of Troy's demeanor and actions he did not appear to be impaired in any way. Troy stated that he did not get much sleep last night and was tired. He also stated that he did not need any medical attention Fire remained on location awaiting the arrival of National Grid. Upon arrival I spoke with both operators involved in the accident. Operator of MV#1 stated she was traveling SB on Brookline St when she came to a stop to let a vehicle turn out of Spaulding Ln and then a pedestrian cross the crosswalk when she was rear ended by MV#2. Operator of MV#1 sustained no injuries and MV#1 had moderate rear end damage. I then spoke to operator of MV#2 who stated she was also driving SB on Brookline St when MV#1 suddenly stopped in front of her and she couldn't stop in time. She rear ended MV#1. MV#2 had heavy front end damage. The operator of MV#2 sustained no injuries. 2000000351,2020-06-27T17:42,2020-06-27,17:42,210 NAHANTON ST,WEST 210 NAHANTON ST,,0,30,0,0,"On 6/27/20 at 1742 I responded with multiple units, NFD and medics for a report of a MVA with injuries on Nahanton St. Upon arrival I observed NH Reg 4539251 wrapped around Verizon utility pole 6/15 facing eastbound on Nahanton St. The operator and the passenger behind the operator were trapped inside the vehicle. The front right passenger was able to get out of the car. Multiple witnesses stated that the vehicle was traveling WB and when it came around the bend in the road the operator lost control and spun clockwise into the pole. The vehicle ultimately rested facing the direction it came from, eastbound. NFD responded and was able to free the remaining two passengers from the vehicle. All passengers were transported to Beth Israel Boston for treatment. While on scene, I spoke with the passenger from the front seat who stated they were traveling westbound towards Needham and the operator just lost control around the bend due to the wet surface. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident, Tody's responded to tow the vehicle. Verizon was notified of their utility pole being damaged. Pictures were taken of the scene and turned over to IT to be uploaded to this report. I responded to the hospital to follow up with the occupants but was only allowed to speak with the passengers and not the operator as he was in critical condition with a broken femur and head injuries. The rear passenger stated that he didn't think his son, the operator, was going that fast but he lost control around the bend, he was suffering from neck pain and is in fair condition.
