HE STATES VEHICLE #2 ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE ABRUPTLY AND TRIED TO GO LEFT. VEHICLE #1 STATES HE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLE #2 STRAIGHT ON BUT WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING HIM ALTOGETHER. VEHICLE #2 STATES HE WAS STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN AT TEMPLE AND COMM. HE STATES HE HEADED ONTO COMM AVE GOING E-BOUND. AT THIS TIME VEHICLE #1 CAME OVER THE HILL AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND THAT WAS WHY HE WAS HIT BY VEHICLE #1. VEHICLE #1 HAD LEFT FRONT END DAMAGE. VEHICLE #2 HAD LEFT REAR SIDE DAMAGE. BOTH PARTIES REPORTED NO INJURIES. BOTH PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. I SPOKE TO A WITNESS WHO LIVES ACROSS THE STREET AT 222 AUSTIN ST. ( DALLAS PERKINS ). WITNESS STATES HE HAD HEARD THE CRASH AND SAW FROM HIS WINDOW A LARGE BOX TRUCK WITH A TRAILER ATTACHMENT THAT CONTAINED SEVERAL LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT PIECES DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE. WHEN HE NOTICED THE FIRE HYDRANT WAS KNOCKED OVER HE CALLED THE POLICE. WITNESS STATES FROM HIS VANTAGE POINT HE WAS UNABLE TO GET A PLATE OR OTHER IDENTIFIABLE MARKINGS. Upon arrival, I met with operator of MV1, who was outside of the vehicle. There was significant damage to the left front tire and front end. Operator of MV1 explained to me that she was traveling Northbound on Centre Street and next thing she remembered was being pulled over on the side of the road and not being able to drive the vehicle. Operator of MV1 stated she was not traveling fast because there was another vehicle in front of her. At this time, medics were called on scene for an evaluation. I was able to determine that MV1 was traveling Northbound on Centre Street, veered off to the right, struck the curb, which caused the tire to pop, and then the front end grazed the utility pole. Tody's towed the vehicle. Operator of MV1 was transported to the hospital. There was minor damage to the Verizon Utility Pole. No structural damage. Verizon was notified. The city was notified to clean debris in the road.
