On arrival, I spoke to Matthew Digregorio DOB7/2/74 ( hereby referred to as operator #1) who was standing on the sidewalk next to MA reg 134TR9 (vehicle #1 ). Vehicle #1 had significant damage to the front and right quarter panels. It was straddled between the travel lanes and did not have the keys in the ignition. It was immediately apparent that operator #1 suffered an injury to his head, as there was a moderate amount of blood and small pieces of glass stuck in his forehead area. I observed operator #1 to be unsteady on his feet, have bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. I could detect a moderate odor of alchoholic beverage coming from operator #1 as I was approaching him, which was apparent from about an arms length away (it should be noted that medics were already en route to the scene at this time). Prior to the medics arrival, I asked operator #1 for a brief synopsis of what transpired. Operator #1 stated that he had just left Paddy's Pub and was driving westbound on Hunter St (which is approximately 1/8 mile from our location) when he collided head on with vehicle #2. Vehicle #2 was not immediately visible upon police arrival, however was pointed out as being located at the intersection of Hunter and Putnam St. I asked operator #1 where he was heading, as Hunter St is a back road not directly in the vicinity of Paddy's. Operator #1 could not answer the question and also remained silent when I asked him how much alcohol he had consumed this evening. At this time the medics arrived on scene. I asked operator #1 for the car keys to reliquish to the tow truck operator, which is standard operating practice. Operator #1 reached into his pocket and then provided me with the keys. Due to concern over operator #1's obvious head trauma, he was then transported to NWH to be evaluated while the investigation continued on scene. Two other parties approached myself and Officer Selig. One was the operator of vehicle #2, MA reg 1RD999. Operator #2 is identified as Luke Ferdinands DOB 5/11/80. The other party who approached is identified as Douglas Dasilva-Pimenta DOB 6/2/86 (Dasilva-Pimenta will now be referred to as operator #3). Operator #2 states that he was taking a right onto Hunter St from Putnam St, when he observed vehicle #1 on the wrong side of the road approaching him head on. Operator #2 states vehicle #1 then collided head on with him, took a right onto Putnam St, and continued onto the Washington St overpass near 1354 Washington St. Operator #3 states he was inside of #5 Hunter St when he heard a loud crash coming from outside. He looked out the window and saw vehicle #1 traveling at a high rate of speed on Hunter St towards Putnam St. Operator #3 observed damage to the right side of his parked vehicle (now referred to as vehicle #3) MA reg 7CAK80. He immediately got in his vehicle and proceeded to follow vehicle #1, which then crashed into vehicle #2 head on. Operator #1 did not stop until it was obvious that operator #3 was following close behind. This ultimately landed vehicle #1 at it's final location near 1354 Washington St. Vehicle #1 and vehicle #2 were not driveable and were towed to Tody's. It should be noted that there was a passenger in vehicle #2 at the time of the collision. Airbags were deployed and medics checked out both operator and passenger. Both declined transport. The passenger is identified as Elizabeth Ferdinands DOB 5/22/53.Ferdinands' version of events coincide with that of operator #2. Upon speaking with Officer Selig it was learned that operator #1 dropped his cell phone several times as he was holding it on scene. Both Officer Selig and operators #2 and #3 observed this. Operators #2 and #3 both expressed concern over the obvious odor of alcohol eminating from operator #1, and the fact that he was unsteady on his feet. I responded to NWH to follow up with operator #1 however he did not wish to speak further. He did express concern over the well being of all parties involved. Operator #1 was issued in hand the following citations: T1268426 - 90/24 OUI Alcohol, 90/24 Leaving the Scene (property damage, vehicle #2), and 90/24 Leaving the Scene (property damage, vehicle #3). T1268425 - 89/4a Marked Lanes violation. The front drivers visor was down. There was no airbag deployment. I observed significat damage to the front passenger side windshield area. Distefano said that he suffers from sleep apnea and states that he gets tired during the day due to his lack of sleep and prescribed medications which often makes him fall asleep unexpectedly. Operator of MV2 stated that he had parked his car outside of 109 Adam Street and was sitting in the driver seat when he was hit by MV1 and also the utility pole. Operator of MV2 was able to exit his car. He was evaluated by the medics and signed a refusal. MV2 has significant damage to the right side and windshield. MV3 was parked in the lot of 109 Adam Street facing Southbound. MV1 hit MV3 head on. There was significant damage to MV3 front end. The operator was uninjured. I then spoke with the operator of MV2(RI COM 81082) who stated he was traveling eastbound on Watertown street, and observed MV1 crossing over the center line. The operator of MV2 stated he tried to get out of the way but MV1 continued into his lane and struck him head on. MV2 had damage to the drivers side front end. The operator stated that he was suffering from shoulder pain to his right shoulder. The operator of MV2 was transported to Newton Welleseley by Cataldo. I observed a gash on his head right above his eye and noticed all airbags had been deployed in his vehicle. I asked him to sit down and I radioed for an ambulance. Kiflit stated that he was driving EAST on Watertown St when he collided with a unoccupied parked car (a red 2015 Jeep Wrangler, MA Con R22519) which was parked on the street outside of 856 Watetown St. Kiflit was driving his girlfriend's car (a gray 2020 Nissan Sentra, MA Reg 1ANN57) and was on his way home in Watertown. When I asked for Kiflit's license, he told me that he only has a permit and has yet to take the test. He apologized repeatedly. Kiflit did not have any passengers in his vehicle. Kiflit said the roadway was so dark and he didn't see the parked Jeep. He claimed he was not speeding. There was minimal damage done to the drivers side rear bumper of the Jeep. The Nissan had extensive front end damage and was subsequently towed by Tody's Towing. Towed motor vehicle form filled out and filed, copy made for police prosecutor. Owner of the Jeep came out and took possession of the vehicle. Kiflit was taken to NWH for evaluation of his injuries. Ianiere's Vehicle sustained damage to the rear driver's side. There were several people seated at an outside area of a nearby restaurant. Those I spoke with heard the crash but did not actually observe the collision. There was one witness identified who stated he observed the collision. witness was identified as Dylan Shuler 24 Y.O.. Mr. Shuler described the other vehicle as a ""silver2 door Honda Civic. He stated the plate was either MA Reg. 6EJZ30 or 6ZJZ30. It was stationary against the large AC Compressor in the rear of the unit, and appeared to had run over several large shrubs before coming to a stop. I spoke with vehicle owner and operator Marion Cohen 8/27/46. Cohen stated that as she was parking in the rear lot of the complex, she accidentally mistook the brake for the gas pedal. She in turn ended up going over the curb and through some bushes before hitting the compressor. There was a passenger in the vehicle identified as Milton Kornfeld 3/10/42. Both occupants were checked out by medics and declined transport. The airbags did not deploy. There does not appear to be any structural damage to anything other than the compressor. NFD checked the integrity of the house, and the compressor was unplugged. I took pictures of the scene and submitted the memory card to IT. Homeowner Xiaozhi Zhao and his family were present inside at the time of the collision and are unharmed. Tody's responded and removed the vehicle from the property. It sustained heavy front end damage and was towed to their lot via flatbed. A m/v inventory form was filled out. MV#1 is an MBTA bus. MV#1 sustained minor damages to its driver's side front bumper area. There were no reported injuries to the operator of MV#1 or its passengers. All of the passengers onboard of MV#1 left the area prior to my arrival except for 1. The operator of MV#2 stated she was travelling northbound on Walnut St when she was struck by MV#3, which in turn pushed MV#2 into MV#1. MV#2 sustained heavy front end damages with driver's side airbag deployment and heavy driver's side door panel damages. The operator of MV#2 sustained injuries to her neck and shoulders. She was transported by Newton Paramedics to Newton Wellesley Hospital. The operator of MV#2 had a small dog with her that was located in the front passenger seat. Newton Animal Control took possession of the dog and transport it to the veterinarian. It was reported that the dog sustained possible internal trauma. The operator of MV#3 stated he was pulling out of the driveway of Walgrens onto Walnut St and struck MV#2. The operator of MV#3 stated MV#2 was travelling at a high rate of speed. MV#3 sustained heavy front end damages. There were no reported injuries to the operator of MV#3. Tody's Towing took possession of MV#2 and MV#3. MBTA Police Officer Michael Bolotin arrived on scene and documented the accident (MBTA case #2020-5909). MBTA Officers took possession of MV#1. He stated they were traveling northbound on Fairway drive, and upon turnng eastbound onto Bunker Lane his daughter hit the gas instead of the brake and accelerated into a tree. I responded to the area at approx. 1752 hrs 09/19/2020. I was advised by NPD Dispatch that the vehicle was unoccupied and that the vehicle has been there all day according to the anonymous reporting party.. When I arrived on location I observed MA Reg. 31542 off the roadway facing westbound directly in front of a tree. This was located directly in front of the residence of 63 Pierrepont Rd. The vehicle was unoccupied with heavy front end damage and front and side airbag deployment. The windows were left 2/3 of the way open and the cars ignition key was left on the driver's seat. The vehicle had collided into a city tree. There was debris from the vehicle at the base of the tree. The tree had visibly been hit but there was no damage to the tree by my observation. I contacted the vehicle owner Edward G. Murray Jr. He confirmed that he had knowledge of the crash. His son Edward G Murray III was the operator at the time of the crash. Murray III had a female passenger Diana Moreno 07/12/2004. I spoke with both Murray Jr. and Murray III via telephone. Murray III stated he was driving following his GPS and suddenly an animal which he believed to be a small dog suddenly ran in front of the car. Murray III swerved to avoid hitting the animal and drove off the road and collided into the tree. He stated the crash was at approx. 0950 on 09/19/2020. I also spoke with Diana Moreno (passenger), via telephone. She could not tell me what preceded the crash as she was looking at her cell phone just prior to the crash. Murray III and Moreno confirmed they were not injured as a result of the crash. Murray III contacted his father and informed him of the crash. Neither party contacted police. Murray Jr contacted AAA to respond advising the vehicle needed to be towed. Murray Jr. stated he was not further contacted by AAA and assumed that the vehicle was towed. Murray III and Moreno left the vehicle parked off the roadway as AAA was not immediately responding. I photographed the crash scene. The photo memory disk has been submitted to NPD IT bureau.
