DRIVER OF VEHICLE #2 STATES HE WAS TRAVELING W--BOUND ON COMM. AVE. HE STATES VEHICLE #1 ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE ABRUPTLY AND HE WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING HER. VEHICLE #1 HAD FROTE END AND LEFT QTR. PANEL DAMAGE AS WELL AS A BENT LEFT TIRE AND A LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT DAMAGE. VEHICLE #2 HAD FRONT RIGHT QTR. PANEL DAMAGE. The weather at the time of the crash was clear and sunny. The road surface was dry. Commonwealth Avenue is a public way maintained by the City of Newton. The operator of MV1, Mr. Pouya Jalili (S24275452), stated he was operating his 2019 Honda CR-V (MA: 1NPG25) on Commonwealth Avenue (E) near Melrose Street. Mr. Lalili stated as he was coming around a bend in the road, a vehicle in front of him has entered his travel lane from their driveway and was attempting to cross Commonwealth Avenue. Mr. Lalili stated he beeped his horn and swerved to the left to try and avoid the collision. MV1's from driver side crashed into the from driver side of MV2. MV1 had damage to it's front end and was removed from the roadway by Tody's towing. Mr. Lalili reported no injuries. The operator of MV2, Ms. Brianna Cataldo (S24925616), stated she was attempting to cross Commonwealth Avenue from her driveway while operating her 2018 Hyundai Elantra (MA: 7XB298). Ms. Cataldo stated while exiting her driveway, she stopped before entering to roadway to allow traffic to clear to her right and left. Ms. Cataldo stated she looked to her left for some time and did not observe any vehicles traveling towards her. Ms. Cataldo stated she proceeded to enter Commonwealth Avenue and make her left turn to travel Westbound. Ms. Cataldo stated she then heard a beep and MV1 was in the Westbound lane, crashing into the front of her vehicle. Ms. Cataldo stated she did not see the vehicle until it was too late. I observed damage to the front end of MV1.
