I spoke with BURNELL who stated she was lost and had been looking down onto her phone looking for a map when she ran into the back of GUIDRY. BURNELL cited for violation MGL90/13 distracted Operation , GUIDRY transported to NWH by Cataldo Ambulance for neck and head pain. GUIDRY and BURN ELLS vehicles towed by Todys. It should be noted that while responding to this call, I did take note of the extreme solar glare on Commonwealth Ave westbound. All parties declined medical attention. Damage visible to me were as follows: -Vehicle #1 sustained heavy front end damage, towed by Tody's -Vehicle #2 had moderate rear end damage, towed by Tody's -Vehicle #3' s right rear passenger side above the wheel well had minor damage, possible tire damage as well. MV2 sustained damage to the rear bumper and drivers side brake light area but was able to drive away from the scene. MV1 has unknown damage as it had already left the scene on my arrival. Officer Ciccone arrived on scene shortly before myself and stated there was no vehicle at this time at that location. Shortly after, I observed a red Ford Taurus traveling eastbound on Commonwealth Avenue turning onto Islington Road with a missing front bumper and airbags deployed (see incident #22005328). Operator of MV stated he was traveling westbound to a nearby hotel when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road. The MV sustained damage to the front of the vehicle and drove into the property of 58 Ash Street. The property had damage to the front lawn. All airbags were deployed. The Operator was taken to Newton Wellesley Hospital for injuries. The passenger had no injuries. The MV was towed by Tody's Service Inc. Due to the injuries I was unable to give the Operator (Anthony Earle) his Massachusetts Unifrom Citation (T1448313) for leaving the scene of an accident (property damage) Chapter 90 Section 24.
