Witness stated he observed Mv#1 attempting to parallel park between two parked cars in the City Hall roundabout 1000 Commonwealth Ave. Witness stated #1 struck both cars during the unsuccessful attempt to park and left to go park in another spot. #1 passenger side front sideswiped Mv#2 driver's side rear; #1 driver's side rear end struck Mv#3 driver's side front end. #1 operator was located at the other parking spot. #1 stated he was unaware he struck both cars. #1 cited for failing to use care stopping starting and turning CO Ch19/Sec75.

Operator 1 stated that he was traveling Northbound on Hyde Ave behind vehicle 2. Operator 2 suddenly stopped short and put his van in reverse, backing into vehicle 1. Operator 2 stated that he was traveling Northbound on Hyde Ave and missed the turned onto George St. Operator 2 looked in his side view mirror and in appeared to be all clear behind him. Operator 2 put the truck into reverse and started to back up, striking the front of vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 sustained moderate damage and vehicle 2 sustained minor damage. There were no tows and no injuries.

Based on observations, and statements made, the following occoured. M/V#1 was traveling south on Parker St. and was stopped with traffic, when M/V#2 rear ended M/V#1. The operater of M/V#2 stated that as she came over the hill, she saw traffic stopped, and rear ended M/V#1.

Narrative:
On 01/16/2020, while assigned to N494, I, Officer Conary, responded to a hit and run on Walnut Street at Otis Street. Operator of MV1 stated that she was traveling Northbound on Walnut Street when MV2 came out of Otis Street taking a left turn on Walnut Street. MV2 hit MV1. MV2 continued to drive Northbound on Walnut Street and did not make an attempts to stop. MV1 pulled over and notified Newton Police. I checked the area for MV2 with negative results. There is damage to MV1 left front bumper and left side. Operator of MV1 said there should be damage to MV2 right side. MV1 was able to be driven from the scene. Newton Dispatch contacted the Operator of MV2 and left a message. I went by the address at 484 Lowell Ave, but the owner was not home nor was the vehicle involved. I left a message with her neighbor to contact Newton Police, and I also left an additional voicemail. Later in the evening, I was able to speak to the Operator of MV2. Operator of MV2 stated she was traveling Eastbound on Otis Street and taking a left Northbound on Walnut Street. She said that the driver Southbound on Walnut Street let her out to turn, and made the left turn onto Walnut Street. Operator of MV2 stated that she did not know that she hit another vehicle. She said she could have hit a curb. At one point, she said "they hit me". She checked the damage on her car and found a scratch on the right side back bumper area. I confirmed all her information and updated the report as accordingly. Operator of MV2 said she has Traveler's Insurance, but RMV is showing Standard Fire. Operator of MV1 was also notified. No further incident to report.

Based on observations and statements made, the following occured. M/V#1 was traveling south on Walnut St. when M/V#2, traveling east on Stoney Brea Rd. attempted to cross Walnut St. and collided with M/V#1. The operator of M/V#2 stated that he was traveling east on Stoney Brea Rd. when M/V#1 came out of no where and collided with him. It should be noted that the stop sign at Stoney Brea Rd and Walnut St. is missing. The operator of M/V#2 was issued citation # T2013115 MGL Ch 89 s 8 Failure to yield.

On January 16, 2020 Officer Bergdorf, Sergeant M Wade and I, Officer Guarino responded to Union St @ Langley Rd for a report of a motor vehicle crash into a bicyclist. Upon arrival, both the operator of MV1 and the bicyclist were inside of 45 Union St, "Baramor" to get out of the cold. I spoke with the bicyclist who was complaining of left wrist and left hip/ tailbone pain. The bicyclist was driving Southbound on Langley Rd on the sidewalk on his black bicycle with no lights. He said that as he was traveling on the sidewalk on Langley Rd, crossing the intersection of Union St (just outside of the crosswalk), he was struck on his right front of the bicycle causing him to fall on his left side. The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet and did not have any lights on his bicycle. He was wearing a blue jacket and dark pants on a black bike. The operator of MV1 spoke with Sergeant M. Wade and Officer Bergdorf. MV1 said that he was traveling East on Union St and stopped at the stop sign and did not see any pedestrians or traffic coming. He proceeded across Langley Rd and struck the bicyclist with the front driver's side of his vehicle. Officer Bergdorf took photos at the scene, which were submitted to IT to be attached to this report. The bicyclist was transported to Newton-Wellesley for medical treatment. His bicycle was transported to his house and secured by Officer Larson.
