The operator of MV#1 states that she was attempting to exit the Star Market parking area (#2040 Commonwealth Ave) onto Commonwealth Ave when MV#2, who was directly in front of her, began backing up and struck MV#1. The operator of MV#2, described as a older W/M, with white hair and very tanned operating a white sedan with MA. plates, exited MV#2 looked at the damage and then left the area. No injuries reported and no tows.

Narrative:
Operator of vehicle 1 was backing out of a parking space in front of 199 Boylston St when he struck vehicle 2 which was traveling eastbound in the parking lot. Vehicle 2 did not stop and left the area. The plate given for vehicle 2 was 962WNZ and I had two phone numbers for the vehicle owner (h:617-558-7264 and C:617-834-7806). I made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the owner of vehicle two and will follow up on my next tour of duty. On 08/23/2021 I spoke to Julia over the phone who stated she was operating the vehicle and did not realize she had been involved in an accident until she got home. While driving through the parking lot she did notice the other vehicle was clost to her but did not realize they had made contact.

Narrative:
Upon arrival, I observed damage on the rear bumper of vehicle 2 which was parked and unoccupied. A witness, Paul Shoemaker, stated he saw vehicle 1, a white Chrysler PT Cruiser, operated by a male party back into vehicle 2 which was parked in front of 96 Warwick Rd. He stated a female party then got out of the vehicle to observe the damage. She then got in vehicle 1 and drove away towards Waltham St. The witness was unable to view the license plate. Mr. Shoemaker stated that his neighbor, the owner of vehicle 2, Marcelo Chaves, is away in Brazil and did not have a phone number for him.
