Narrative:
Upon arrival, vehicle 1 was rolled over and facing Eastbound in the Westbound lane. There was extensive damage all over the vehicle and it was leaking fluids. It appears that vehicle 1 was traveling Westbound on Commonwealth Ave and struck a tree and then crashed into the guard rail causing it to roll over. There was damage to a city tree and damage to the guard rail. Operator 1 stated (through translation from Officer Acuna), he was traveling Eastbound on Commonwealth Ave at approximately 25 MPH when he was looking at his GPS and his brakes gave out causing him to crash. When asked again, his story changed and he was not sure what direction he was traveling in. Newton Fire was able to retrieve operator 1's cell phone in the vehicle which was on a loop playing videos on instagram. Operator 1 was transported to Beth Israel Hospital by Fallon Ambulance. Tody's towed vehicle 1 and pictures were taken of the damage to city property and will be submitted to the IT Bureau to be attached to this report. Operator 1 was served in hand, Massachusetts Uniform Citation: T1445611 for the following: Ch. 89 s. 4A - Marked Lanes Violation Ch. 90 s.13B- Electronic Device Use While Operating a Motor Vehicle

Narrative:
On 11/03/21 at 08:25 hours, N491 and I (Traffic Unit # 523) responded to 612 Washington Street for a two car motor vehicle accident involving a city motor vehicle. The weather at the time was clear and sunny and the road conditions were dry. Washington Street is a public way maintained and owned by the City of Newton. On arrival, I spoke to the operator identified as Brian Napolitano (MA D/L #S73156918) and his co-worker Kevin Brooks who was a passenger in the vehicle. Both parties work for the City of Newton Department of Public Works. Mr. Napolitano was operating a 2009 Ford F350 bearing MA MVN registration# M78129 at the time. He stated that he was attempting to back out of the driveway of 612 Washington Street. Once it was clear to proceed he backed out on to Washington Street and that is when a Subaru Impreza made contact with his driver's side front quarter panel area. He says the Subaru was making a left turn from the left westbound lane of Washington Street in to the same driveway he was backing out of at the time. There was no visible damage to the vehicle. I then spoke to the operator of the Subaru (MA reg.# 3GYT41) identified as Jennifer Shippie (MA D/L# S23299202). Ms. Shippie states she was in the left westbound lane of Washington Street and was turning left in to the driveway of 612 Washington Street. She further stated that a vehicle in the eastbound lane stopped for her and waved her on to proceed. She then made the turn and never saw the Ford F350 backing out and made contact with it on her passenger front bumper area. The entire vehicle had damage to the front bumper consisting of scratches and dents but she stated none of it was new from this accident. No injuries reported and digital photos taken of the vehicles by me.

Narrative:
On Wednesday at approximately 1132 hours while assigned to marked unit n499 I was dispatched to the intersection of Arnold Rd. and Greenwood Street for a report of a construction vehicle that took down a tree and was blocking the Road. Upon arrival I observed a large city tree on top of a box truck owned by 1-800-got junk completely blocking Greenwood Street. Newton Forestry responded to the scene and removed the tree from the vehicle and from the Road. Prior to the tree being cleared I spoke with the operator of the truck, SWEET Massimo, who states he was travelling Southbound on Greenwood Street toward Dedham Street when he attempted to pull to the side of the road. Prior to making it to the side of the road the top of the truck struck the city tree that was leaning over the roadway.tearing it from its roots and landing on top of the truck. My observations indicate that the tree would have been leaning over the roadway as SWEET's tires were still in the roadway when the tree was struck. SWEET states the vehicle has a dash camera that records and cold be accessed at a later date by the owner of the company. Five pictures were taken of the crash scene and emailed to policerecords@newtonma.gov.

Narrative:
On 11/03/21 at 13:08 hours, Retired Detail Officer Edrehi reported that there was a motor vehicle accident on Parker Street at Boylston Street involving a city transport school bus. Parker Street is a public way maintained and owned by the City of Newton. The weather at the time was sunny with some clouds and the road conditions were dry. On arrival, both vehicles were moved away from the crash location and off to the side of the Boylston Street (EB) on ramp in order to relieve traffic congestion. I spoke to the operator of the school bus ( Vehicle # 2) identified as Jean Isme (MA D/L# S05201694). Mr. Isme works for the Eastern Bus Company which is contracted to transport children for the City of Newton public schools. At the time, he was operating a yellow 2022 Thomas School Bus bearing MA reg.# 1A6DJ. He states that he was traveling on the off ramp of Boylston Street (WB) at Parker Street and turned left on to Parker St. He was then trying to take a left turn on to the Boylston Street (EB) on ramp but could not due to traffic congestion. At this point, he was rear ended by Vehicle # 1. I observed no dents or paint damage to the rear of the school bus. I then spoke to the operator of Vehicle # 1 identified as Madeline Fordyce (MA D/L # SA3410026) who was operating a 2011 Chrysler 200 gray bearing MA reg. # 95S120 at the time. Ms. Fordyce stated she was behind the school bus coming off the westbound off ramp and was also making a left turn on to Parker Street. As she made the turn she noticed that the bus had stopped and attempted to brake, but she could not stop in time. The Chrysler sustained damage to the entire front bumper and the hood was pushed up. The vehicle was towed by Tody's towing. No injuries reported and digital photos were taken of the scene.
