Mv#1 operator was travelling on Commonwealth Ave E/B in the area of #32. #1 operator was distracted by his ringing cell phone on the front seat floor. While reaching down to retrieve it, #1 rear ended Mv#2 (postal truck) that was parked near the side of the road while operator was conducting mail business inside the truck. No injuries reported by #1 or #2. #1 sustained front end damage that required tow service by Tody's. #2 did not require a tow.

MV1 was parked in front of #96 McCarthy Rd. MV2 is a City of Newton Forestry truck that was occupied and parked behind MV1 waiting to move up to a work site. MV2 began moving forward towards the site and struck MV1 from behind. Operator states that he was distracted by repositioning his seat and forgot that MV1 was parked in front him. There was a scratch to MV2 and damage to the rear of MV1. Pictures were taken by me and TOT IT.

Narrative:
Based on the witness statement of Yehor Shumerko, the operator of MV1 rolled down Eliot Street subsequently backing her vehicle into the foundation of 330 Eliot Street. Both tenants of the home then stated that they exited the home and when attempting to speak with operator she appeared distraught and begged them not to call the police before then leaving the scene without providing any information. Both occupants of the home were uninjured. Fire responded and determined that the home was safe for the time being. Wellesley PD attempted to locate the owner of the vehicle at her residence with negative results. Photographs of the scene were taken and submitted to IT to be attached to this report. Massachusetts Uniform Citation T2079291 was issued via mail to the operator of MV1 for 90-24, Leaving the scene of property damage. Approximately 1 hour later Officer Guarino located the operator of MV1 several streets away on Columbia Ave. She stated that she was smoked a cigarette when he vehicle began to roll backwards and struck the house. The operator of MV1 also stated that she did not believe there was any damage to the home which is why she left despite major damage to her vehicle. Todys responded to the scene and towed the vehicle.

Narrative:
At approximately 0147 hours I was dispatched to the area of 250 Waltham St for report of an MVA. Upon my arrival I spoke with the involved parties. The operator of vehicle 1 stated that as she was traveling southbound on Waltham St she noticed a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed from her rear. This vehicle tailgated her for a short time, until she attempted to pull over to the side of the road to let the vehicle pass. As she was signaling her desire to do so, she was struck in the rear by vehicle 1. The operator of vehicle 2 stated a similar account, and added that he was not paying attention prior to striking vehicle 1 in the rear. All parties declined medical attention, and both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene safely.
