On 7/10/2019 at approx 1306Hrs while assigned to 497 I responded to 57 Kenwood St for a report of a vehicle backing into a gas light pole. Upon arrival I met with a worker for A Blade of Grass Landscaping Company, Taidy GONZALES. GONZALES stated she was backing her company truck into the driveway of 57 Kenwood Rd when she taped the gas light pole belonging to The City of Newton causing the glass globe to crack. NFD responded and turned the gas off.

On 07/25/19 at 10:28 hours, I responded to Centre Street and Boylston St off ramp (WB) for a two car motor vehicle accident with no injuries reported. Operator of MV1 states he was traveling straight ahead on Centre Street (NB) when he observed MV2 inching out of the Boylston Street off ramp. He was not able to stop in time and the two vehicles struck one another. I observed heavy damage to the passenger front bumper and tire area and the vehicle was towed by Tody's. Operator of MV2 states he was exiting the Boylston Street off ramp (WB) and was going to attempt a left turn on to Centre Street after stopping for the stop sign. He then slowly pulled out into the intersection due to National Grid trucks blocking his view and that is when he came in contact with MV1 on his driver's side front bumper. I observed moderate damage to the entire front bumper but the vehicle was still driveable. I did observe National Grid trucks parked at the intersection setting up to do construction work. One truck was parked on the left side of the off ramp and the other was parked on the side where the crash occurred. This did obstruct the operator of MV2's view when pulling out.

At approximately 1640 HRs on Wednesday, July, 31, 2019, I responded to the intersection of Centre St. at Hollis St. for a two vehicle crash. The operator of motor vehicle 1 stated she was traveling eastbound on Hollis St. while motor vehicle 2 was attempting to enter Centre St. southbound after stopping at the stop sign controlling the intersection. At this point, motor vehicle 2 reversed and struck motor vehicle 1 at the stop sign. The operator of motor vehicle 2 stated that he was entering the intersection in an attempt to travel southbound on Centre St. when traffic already southbound on Centre St. was flowing. In an attempt not to block northbound traffic, he reversed and accidentally struck motor vehicle 1. motor vehicle 1 sustained damage to its left fender and driver's side door areas. motor vehicle 2 sustained damage to its right rear bumper area and had preexisting scrapes to its right rear quarter and sliding door.. Neither party were injured and both vehicles left under their own power. I cleared without incident.

On Friday, August 16th 2019, at approximately 6:40pm, I, Officer Brooks, responded to Dunstan street at Washington street for a MVA pedestrian. Upon my arrival I spoke with the operator of MV1(294NZ5), who stated she was traveling southbound on Dunstan street and was attempting to pull out onto Washington street, when she made contact with a bicyclist traveling westbound on Washington street. The operator stated she never saw the bicyclist, and that she was traveling less than a mile per hour when she made contact. It should be noted that the sun was setting and the operators vision would have been impaired by the sun at the location of the accident. MV1 had a minor scuff mark on the front bumper. I spoke with the bicyclist who stated he was traveling westbound on Washington street and was crossing over Dunstan street when he was struck by MV1. He stated he was knocked off the bike, scraped his arm, and had minor back pain. The mirror on the right side of his bike was broken. The bicyclist was wearing greenish gray clothing, and was not wearing protective equipment such as a helmet. The bicyclist signed a refusal from Cataldo and was given a copy of the report number. Pictures were taken of the scene and all parties were sent on their way.

OPER OF MV#1, STATED THAT SHE GOT INTO HER VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FORWARD (EB) ON WINTER ST, WHEN SHE DROVE INTO A METAL, DIGGING, CONSTRUCTION BUCKET. THE BUCKET WAS LOCATED ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF HER VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. THE BUCKET WAS NOT MARKED WITH CONES, AND THE OPERATOR (MV#1) STATED THAT THE BUCKET WAS NOT VISIBLE FROM HER DRIVER SEAT. MV#1 SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT LEFT BUMPER/LIGHT AREA. THE CONSTRUCTION BUCKET WAS NOT DAMAGED.

ON 8-24-19 AT APPROX. 1119HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF WATERTOWN AND DUNSTAN I SPOKE TO THE OPERATOR OF VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES HE WAS TRAVELING E-BOUND ON WATERTOWN. AS HE APPROACHED DUNSTAN ST. VEHICLE #2 CAME OUT OF THE STREET ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE AND HIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS VEHICLE. VEHICLE #2 DRIVER STATES SHE WAS STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN TRAVELING N-BOUND ON DUNSTAN. SHE LOOKED TO HER LEFT AND DIDN'T SEE ANY VEHICLES COMING, AS SHE ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE SHE WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES HER VISIBILITY WAS OBSTRUCTED BY A BLACK PICKUP PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ( MA REG: 7ZV435, 2011 FORD F150 PICKUP ). THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED LEGALLY AND HAD AN ACTIVE REGISTRATION. I WAS STOPPED BY A RESIDENT WHO STATED THERE ARE A LOT OF ACCIDENTS IN THIS AREA BECAUSE OF THE VISIBILITY OBSTRUCTION CAUSED BY VEHICLES PARKING IN THE AREA. VEHICLE #1 HAD RIGHT FRONT SIDE DAMAGE. VEHICLE #2 HAD SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE, FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND WAS TOWED BY TODYS. BOTH PARTIES WERE EXAMINED BY MEDICS AND SIGNED PATIENT REFUSALS. ALL PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES.

ON 8-28-19 AT APPROX. 1443HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT 367 CALIFORNIA ST. I SPOKE TO THE OPERATOR OF VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES HE WAS TRAVELING E-BOUND ON CALIFORNIA ST. WHEN VEHICLE #2 ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE AND HIT HIM ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS VEHICLE. VEHICLE #2 STATES HE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF 368 CALIFORNIA ST. AND WAS PREPARING TO ENTER THE TRAFFIC LANE GOING E-BOUND ON CALIFORNIA. DRIVER STATES AS HE ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE HE WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLE #1. BOTH DRIVERS STATED THERE WAS A LARGE BOX TRUCK PARKED BEHIND VEHICLE #2 AND THEY DID NOT SEE EACH OTHER UNTIL THEY CRASHED. VEHICLE #1 HAD RIGHT SIDE VEHICLE DAMAGE. VEHICLE #2 HAD LEFT FRONT END VEHICLE DAMAGE. ALL VEHICLES WERE STILL OPERATIONAL AND DID NOT REQUIRE TOWS. ALL PARTIES REPORTED NO INJURIES. ALL PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES.

Operator of Vehicle #1 stated that he was traveling south on Ellis Street when Vehicle #2 exited from the side road and struck his vehicle. Vehicle #1 sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Todys Towing. Operator reports no injuries. Passenger in Vehicle #1 was evaluated by Newton Medics and signed a patient refusal. Operator of Vehicle #2 stated that she was exiting the side road and could not see around the Rt 9 Bridge so she slowly pulled forward and struck Vehicle #1 as it drove by. Vehicle #2 sustained heavy front end damage and was privately towed from the scene by AAA. Operator reports no injuries. It should be noted that the Operator of Vehicle #1 did not have a stop sign from his direction of travel.

The operator of MV #1 (MA reg 466xd6) stated she was traveling eastbound on Prospect St. towards Washington St. when her vehicle was struck on the rear driver's side door by MV2. The operator of MV #2 (Pupils reg 108630) stated he was pulling out of the parking lot of the Learning Prep School, 1507 Washington St. when he collided into the passenger side of MV #1. The operator of MV#2 stated they looked in both directions prior to turning westbound onto Prospect St. but a vehicle parked by the school parking lot exit obscured his view of traffic. Heavy damage was observed to the passenger side door of MV#1. Minor damage to the driver side bumper was observed on MV #2. The operator of MV #1 along with her passengers were not injured and declined medical attention. The operator of MV #2 along with the children inside were not injured and declined medical attention. Tody's Towing Service arrived on scene and towed MV #1 from the scene. MV #2 was able to be driven away the scene.

MV #1 was traveling soutbound on Centre St. at the intersection of Langley Rd. MV #2 was positioned northbound on Centre. St and was attempting to turn westbound onto Pleasant st. The operator of MV#2 indicated that there was a significant gap in traffic as he was attempting to turn westbound when the operator of MV #1 collided into his vehicle. Damage was observed to both MV#1 and MV#2's front bumpers. The operator of MV#1 stated she could not see MV#2 due to the lighting prior to her colliding into vehicle. Both parties were treated on scene by Cataldo EMS but declined transport to a hospital. Both vehicles were able to be driven away from the scene.

ON 11-11-19 AT APPROX. 1212HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR CITY MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT 14 COOK ST. I SPOKE TO THE OPERATOR OF VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES HE WAS BACKING N-BOUND ON COOK ST. DRIVER SAW A BARREL IN HIS REAR VIEW. HE MANEUVERED HIS WAY AROUND THE BARREL BUT DID NOT SEE THE FIRE HYDRANT BEHIND IT UNTIL HE HAD HIT IT. VEHICLE #1 HAD LEFT END DAMAGE ON THE LEFT REAR BUMPER. DRIVER REPORTS NO INJURIES AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT HIS INSURANCE COMPANY. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FIRE HYDRANT. I TOOK 4 PICTURES OF THE SCENE AND PLACED THE DISC WITH I.T.

On 11/27/19 at 12:43 hours, I responded to the Petsmart located at 215 Needham Street for a motor vehicle bicyclist accident. The weather at the time was approximately 50 degrees, cloudy and the road conditions were dry. No injuries reported. Operator of MV # 1 (Barbara Cooper) states she was facing eastbound on Needham Street waiting in the center turn lanes to take a left turn in to the garage of 215 Needham Street. Next, she states that a large truck going westbound stopped for her and waved her on to turn. She then proceeded in to the garage and parked and that is when she was confronted by the bicyclist saying that she was struck with her vehicle. The operator was unaware of an accident occurring and was not able to visibly see past the truck while turning. I observed a minor scratch to the passenger rear quarter panel area of the vehicle. Operator of the bicyclist (Merissa Brousseau) states she traveling westbound in the bicycle lane on the right side near 215 Needham Street when she observed the large truck mentioned above suddenly stop. She states that she was also visibly blocked from seeing ahead due to the truck. She then kept peddling straight through and struck MV # 1 in the passenger side rear end as it was making its left turn. The operator was evaluated by Cataldo Ambulance but refused medical attention. I observed no apparent damage to the bicycle. Ms. Brousseau was wearing a bicycle helmet, black and red Boston University bicycle suit, and red BU sock covers over her shoes. On 12/9/2019 at approx 0753hrs while assigned to 497 I responded to the area of Commonwealth Av and Temple St for a report of a 2 car collision w/o injury. Upon arrival I observed Ma Reg 692NB8 pulled to the side with flashers on in front of 1650 Commonwealth Av. i spoke with the operator Kai CHEN who stated he was stopped in traffic in front of 1650 Commonwealth Av when the white mini van Ma Reg 7ZB211 backed out of the driveway at 1650 Commonwealth Av striking his car. I spoke with the operator of the mini van , James MURPHY who stated he was backing out of the driveway and did not see CHEN colliding with his car.

The operator of MV1 (MA Reg: 7PS492) stated that he was travelling eastbound on Washington St in the right lane. MV1 stated that as he approached the intersection of Washington and Perkins St, he was cut off by MV2. The operator of MV1 stated MV2 came from his left and he had no time to stop. MV1 stated that he had a green light. The operator of MV2 (MA Reg:429SH8) stated that they were on Washington St over the Mass Pike attempting to turn left onto Washington St. MV2 stated that two lanes of traffic had stopped and waved them on. MV2 stated that they did not see MV1 in the far lane and pulled out into their lane. MV2 stated that they had green light when they attempted to turn. MV1 sustained front end damage. MV2 sustained passenger side damage. All parties were evaluated by medics and signed a patient refusal. MV2 was towed by Tody's towing.

At approximately 0500HRs on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, I was dispatched to a 2 vehicle MVA in front of 38 Commonwealth Ave. Upon arrival, I spoke with the operator of MV1 (MA CON: S25585) who stated that he attempted to back up his vehicle (Westbound) and accidently struck MV2 because he was not able to see it in his mirror. Upon speaking to the operator of MV2 (MA CON: S13628), he stated he was traveling Eastbound as MV1 was backing up. He then stopped MV2 and when MV1 did not, he activated his horn which had no effect and MV1 backed into him. I observed MV1 to have no discernable damage. I observed MV2 to have sustained damage to its front bumper, grille, hood, passenger's side fender and both head lamps. MV1 had a single passenger who reports he did not witness event in question, as he was focused on eating at the time. No one involved reports any injuries. I cleared without incident.

The operator of MV#1 stated he was parked at the street bend of 64 Homer St when he was struck from behind by MV#2. MV#1 sustained heavy damages to its driver's side rear bumper area. There were no reported injuries to the operator of MV#1. The operator of MV#2 stated he was travelling eastbound on Homer St when his visibility was obstructed by the solar glare and struck MV#1. MV#2 sustained heavy front end damages with both front airbags deployment. The operator of MV#2 sustained a cut lower lip. He was evaluated by Newton Paramedics and signed a patient refusal of treatment. It should be noted when this accident occurred, there was a solar glare obstruction that faced all oncoming eastbound traffic. Tody's Towing took possession of MV#2.
