ON 5-23-22 AT APPROX. 1457HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF TEMPLE AND COMM AVE. I SPOKE TO DRIVER #1. DRIVER STATES SHE WAS STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN AT TEMPLE AND COMM. PREPARING TO CROSS OVER COMM TO CONTINUE SOUTH ON TEMPLE ST. AS SHE HEADED INTO THE TRAFFIC LANE SHE WAS HIT BY VEHICLE #2. DRIVER OF VEHICLE #2 STATES HE WAS TRAVELING W--BOUND ON COMM. AVE. HE STATES VEHICLE #1 ENTERED THE TRAFFIC LANE ABRUPTLY AND HE WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING HER. VEHICLE #1 HAD FROTE END AND LEFT QTR. PANEL DAMAGE AS WELL AS A BENT LEFT TIRE AND A LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT DAMAGE. VEHICLE #2 HAD FRONT RIGHT QTR. PANEL DAMAGE. DRIVER OF VEHICLE #1 WAS TRANSPORTED BY MEDICS TO NEWTON WELLESLEY HOSPITAL FOR POSSIBLE INJURY. DRIVER OF VEHICLE #2 REPORTED NO INJURY. VEHICLE #1 WAS TOWED BY TODYS. VEHICLE #2 WAS RECOMMENDED BY TODYS TO BE TOWED BUT THE DRIVER PREFERRED TO DRIVE IT HOME HIMSELF. ALL PARTIES WERE ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

Narrative:
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, while assigned to unit N493, I responded to the area of 2140 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton for a motor vehicle crash. The weather at the time of the crash was clear and sunny. The road surface was dry. Commonwealth Avenue is a public way maintained by the City of Newton. The operator of MV1, Mr. Pouya Jalili (S24275452), stated he was operating his 2019 Honda CR-V (MA: 1NPG25) on Commonwealth Avenue (E) near Melrose Street. Mr. Lalili stated as he was coming around a bend in the road, a vehicle in front of him has entered his travel lane from their driveway and was attempting to cross Commonwealth Avenue. Mr. Lalili stated he beeped his horn and swerved to the left to try and avoid the collision. MV1's from driver side crashed into the from driver side of MV2. MV1 had damage to it's front end and was removed from the roadway by Tody's towing. Mr. Lalili reported no injuries. The operator of MV2, Ms. Brianna Cataldo (S24925616), stated she was attempting to cross Commonwealth Avenue from her driveway while operating her 2018 Hyundai Elantra (MA: 7XB298). Ms. Cataldo stated while exiting her driveway, she stopped before entering to roadway to allow traffic to clear to her right and left. Ms. Cataldo stated she looked to her left for some time and did not observe any vehicles traveling towards her. Ms. Cataldo stated she proceeded to enter Commonwealth Avenue and make her left turn to travel Westbound. Ms. Cataldo stated she then heard a beep and MV1 was in the Westbound lane, crashing into the front of her vehicle. Ms. Cataldo stated she did not see the vehicle until it was too late. I observed damage to the front end of MV1. Ms. Cataldo reported no injuries.

MV#1 and MV#2 were traveling south on Cpyress St. MV#1 stopped for a pedestrian in the cross walk. MV#2 did not stop in time and crashed into MV#1. Operator of MV#1 stated that when he stopped for the pedestrian, MV#2 crashed into him. Operator of MV#2 stated that his reaction time was not quick enough when he observed MV#1 stop, causing him to crash into MV#1. No injuries occurred. Both vehicles were driven off scene.

Narrative:
The operator of MV#1 stated he was traveling eastbound on Washington St. through the intersection of Walnut St. The operator of MV#1 stated he had a "green" signal as he proceeded through the intersection. The Operator of MV#1 stated his vehicle was struck at an angle by MV#2. A witness to the accident confirmed MV#1 had a "green" signal while MV#2 had a "red" signal. The operator of MV#2 stated he was unsure what color signal he had as he traveled south on Walnut St. through the intersection of Washington St. Damage to both vehicles were consistent with a "T-bone" collision. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. The Operator of MV#2 was cited.

Narrative:
MV1 was travelling Northbound on Grove St. when the operator stated that an unknown man ran out in front of him just before the intersection of Auburn St. and Central St. causing him to swerve and to continue around the curve of the road at Grove St., hop the curb and crash into a tree located at 6 Grove St. Operator was concluded to be operating under the influence, see arrest report #2201878 for further information. Fallon Ambulance Service arrived on scene to evaluate the operator. Operator signed a patient refusal. Vehicle sustained heavy front end damage. Tody's Towing Service responded and towed the vehicle.
