Narrative:
On Sunday February 13, 2022 at approx. 1751 hours I responded to Beacon Street at Washington Street for a report of a two motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival on scene I observed the roadway to be very icy and snow. Another Officer was at the same intersection from another crash that happened just prior to this one. I spoke with the operator and passenger of vehicle one. They both stated they were stopped at the red traffic signal on Beacon Street at Washington Street when they felt impact in the rear of their vehicle from vehicle two. I spoke with operator of vehicle two who stated she was traveling north on Beacon Street observed the red traffic signal and the vehicle one stopped. She stated he applied the vehicles brakes and the vehicle started to slide uncontrollable down hill. She tried to turn to avoid vehicle one and her vehicle lost control and spun around and had impact with vehicle one. There were no reported injuries at this time and all parties advised of the process. This crash was unavoidable due to weather conditions, Beacon Street was a sheet of ice and the roadway was not treated. A notification was made to have a sander to arrive on scene to treat the roadway before we could even move the impacted vehicles and prevent further crashes.

Narrative:
On Sunday February 13, 2022 at approx. 1856 hours I was traveling north on Walnut Street approaching the intersection of Prospect Ave when I observed a two motor vehicle crash with City property damage. Upon arrival on scene I activated my emergency lights and exited my cruiser to check on all parties and notified dispatch of the crash. I observed both vehicles had airbag deployment and notified for medics to respond. The operator of vehicle one stated he was traveling north on Walnut Street when vehicle two traveled through Prospect Ave onto Walnut Street into his path of travel causing impact. The operator of vehicle two stated he was traveling east, down hill on Prospect Ave, he applied his brakes and his vehicle slide uncontrollable downhill through the intersection onto Walnut Street where vehicle one had impact with his vehicle, which caused him to spin around onto the curb striking a City tree and sidewalk. The vehicle was close to a retaining wall belonging to 580 Walnut Street but did not appear to have had contact. Fire and medics arrive on scene, to check on both parties due to both vehicles having airbag deployment. Both parties declined medical treatment and stated they did not have any injuries. Prospect Ave and Walnut Street were both covered with ice/snow and untreated. I notified for a sander to treat the roadways which was a contributing factor of the crash. Todys towing arrived on scene and towed both vehicles to their tow lot. All parties advised of the process. I took pictures of the City property damage that I will download at the I.T. Bureau.
