On Thursday May 6th, 2021 at approximately 10:27am I responded to the intersection of Beacon Street and Hammond Pond Parkway for a minor motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. At the time of the accident the weather was sunny and the road surface was dry. Beacon Street is a public way owned and maintained by the City of Newton and Hammond Pond Parkway is owned by the State Police. Upon arrival I spoke with the pedestrian who was being treated by medics on scene. She was identified as Erinn McGahan. Erinn stated she was jogging on Beacon Street heading westbound and was approaching the intersection of Hammond Pond Parkway. Erinn stated she thought she made eye contact with the vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign as she continued to jog across the crosswalk. As she started to enter the crosswalk, the vehicle started to take the right turn onto Beacon Street and struck her right knee, causing her to fall on top of the hood of the vehicle and roll off onto the street. Erinn stated she had minor injuries and was transported by Fallon to Newton Wellesley Hospital. I spoke with the operator of the vehicle, identified as Delia Duart. Delia stated she was stopped at the stop sign on Hammond Pond Parkway and did not see the pedestrian entering the crosswalk. Delia stated she started to turn right onto Beacon Street and struck the pedestrian causing her to roll off the hood of her car and land on the street. Delia reported no injuries and signed a patient refusal. Delia reported no damage to her vehicle and was able to leave the scene. Mass Uniform Citation #992938AA was issued and mailed to Delia Duart for Chapter 89 Section 11 Crosswalk Violation.

On Friday, May 7, 2021, while assigned to Traffic unit N525, I responded to the area of Colby Road for a report of a crash involving a City of Newton owned vehicle. The weather at the time of the crash was clear and sunny. The road surface was dry. I spoke with Mr. Michael Sanford from the City of Newton Water Department. Mr. Sanford stated his City of Newton owned vehicle (2013 Ford F-250 (MA MVN: M88493) was parked unoccupied (S) in front of 497 Centre Street, Newton. Mr. Sanford stated his emergency lights were on while he was marking out a service. Mr. Sanford stated he then observed a white 2005 Ford Ecowagon (MA CON: L61558) travel past his vehicle South on Centre Street and make contact with his driver side door mirror. Mr. Sanford stated the vehicle continued down Centre Street and he followed it to Rochester Road where is came to a stop. I observed damage to the driver door mirror. I spoke with the operator of MV2, Ms. Jerrie Spencer (S12241050). Ms. Spencer stated she knew she made contact with MV1's driver door mirror, but was trying to make it to her appointment at the Faulkner Hospital and that is why she did not immediately pull over. I observed damage to the front passenger side door mirror. Ms. Spencer was provided with Massachusetts Uniform Citation 994181AA for Chapter 89, Section 4A (Marked Lanes Violation). Centre Street is a public way maintained by the City of Newton. Photos were taken of both vehicles and submitted to the IT Bureau.

ON 5-13-21 AT APPROX. 1341HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT HIT AND RUN. UPON ARRIVAL AT 110 WALNUT ST ( ADMINISTRATION BUILDING PARKING LOT ) I SPOKE TO THE OWNER OF VEHICLE #1. OWNER STATES SHE CAME OUT TO HER CAR AND NOTICED SOMEONE HAD HIT HER VEHICLE IN THE REAR RIGHT QTR. PANEL CAUSING DAMAGE. OWNER STATES A TEACHER IN THE BUILDING ( JILL CURRY ) HAD SEEN THE ACCIDENT AND GOT VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE VEHICLE FLEEING THE SCENE. THE FOOTAGE SHOWS A BLACK JEEP PICKUP TRUCK BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET A LICENSE PLATE FROM THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE #1 HAD RIGHT REAR QTR. PANEL DAMAGE BUT WAS STILL OPERATIONAL. OWNER ADVISED TO CONTACT HER INSURANCE COMPANY. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

MV1 was traveling south on Centre Street. MV1 took a left turn prior to the island to turn east onto Sargent Street. MV2 was traveling north on Centre Street and struck the right side of MV1, causing MV1 to roll onto its left side. Subsequently pushing MV1into MV3. MV3 was pushed over the curb and up onto the sidewalk area. MV3 was at the stop sign, waiting to take a right onto Centre Street to travel northbound. All three operators state the same consistent story. All patients signed refusals with the exception of the operator of MV3 who was transported to NWH. All three vehicles towed by Tody's.

ON 5-14-21 AT APPROX. 0827HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF COMM AND CHESTNUT I SPOKE TO THE OPERATOR OF VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES SHE WAS TRAVELING N-BOUND ON CHESTNUT STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. WHILE STOPPED SHE WAS HIT IN THE REAR BY VEHICLE #2. VEHICLE #2 STATES SHE WAS TRAVELING N-BOUND ON CHESTNUT ST. STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. DRIVER STATES HER GPS UNIT FELL TO THE FLOOR AND SHE WENT TO PICK IT UP. STATES SHE SAW THE TRAFFIC MOVE OUT OF THE CORNER OF HER EYE SO SHE ACCELERATED. WHEN SHE REALIZED THE TRAFFIC WAS NOT MOVING SHE WAS UNABLE TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLE #1. VEHICLE #1 HAD RIGHT REAR END DAMAGE AND WAS TOWED BY TODYS. VEHICLE #2 HAD FRONT END DAMAGE BUT WAS STILL OPERATIONAL. DRIVER #1 WAS TRANSPORTED BY MEDIC2 TO NEWTON WELLESLEY HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT FOR BACK AND NECK PAIN. DRIVER #2 REPORTED NO INJURIES. ALL PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
