MV#1 was traveling southbound on Oak St. Due to the snowy, wet conditions MV#1 lost traction with the roadway and skidded into the Saco St. sign. Damage was observed to the driver side front bumper of MV#1. No injuries were reported and MV#1 was able to be driven from the scene. The Saco St. sign was damaged and left on the side of the road. The city of Newton Public Works Deptartment was notified about the damage to the sign and photos of the damage were given to the Newton Police IT Bureau.

MV 1 was traveling north on Chestnut St when she slid into the curb striking a USPS post mail box and stop sign. The operator of MV 1 lost control of the vehicle due to inclimate weather and slid into the side of the road striking the objects. The operator was not injured by the crash. Pictures of the mailbox and stop sign were taken and passed into the Newton Police IT department. The vehicle was towed due to it being disabled on a public way. A towed motor vehicle inventory sheet was filled out and filed. Postal police was notified of the downed box.

MV1, Mr. Marchand was driving Southbound on Highland St when a vehicle stopped abruptly in front of him to allow a vehicle to enter the travel lane exiting out of Ascenta Terrace. When the vehicle stopped abruptly in front of him, MV1 slammed on the brakes and did not hit the car in front of him, however he was rear-ended by a vehicle behind him, MV2. MV2, Mr. Calderon, was traveling Southbound on Highland St behind MV1 when he observed MV1 brake. He then immediately stepped on his brake and was not able to maneuver the vehicle in order to avoid the collision due to icey, slippery conditions on the road. MV2 sustained heavy front end damage. MV1 sustained minor damage to the rear he vehicle. No injuries were reported on scene. MV2 had to be towed by Tody's as it was disabled.

The operator of Vehicle #1 stated that she slid into the fence at 234 Church St as she attempted to navigate the bend in the road. The collision damaged a fence at 234 Church St, as well as a crosswalk sign at the intersection of Church St, and Oakland St. The sign and fence were moved to the side of the pedestrian way as best as it could, and the city was notified to remove the debris. The owner of the property, Mr. Steven Carter, was made aware. The vehicle sustained front end damage. The operator declined medical attention when it was offered.

On Monday, May 31, 2021 at approximately 00:40hrs I, Officer Daly, along with Officer Kayla Donahue responded to a motor vehicle accident. We found the vehicles on Washington Street by Park Street. Upon arrival I observed both of the involved motor vehicles pulled off to the side of Washington Street by Park Street. I spoke with the operator of MV1 who said he was stopped at the red light when he was hit from behind by MV2. I spoke with the operator of MV2 who said she was traveling Eastbound on Washington Street traveling approximately 20mph. Operator of MV2 said she began pressing down on her breaks due to the red light but said her car continued to slide and would not stop. Operator of MV2 said it was at this point her car collided with MV1. It should be noted it was raining throughout the day and it drizzling at the time of the accident causing the roadways to be wet and slippery. Both MV1 and MV2 were towed away from the scene by Tody's. Both of the operators retrieved their valuables from their vehicles prior to the vehicles being towed away. Both of the operators did not sustain any injuries. The passenger of MV1 began feeling ill while on scene and was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital by Fallon Medics.

VEHICLE #2 STATES SHE WAS DRIVING E-BOUND ON WASHINGTON ST ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT ONTO EDDY ST. DRIVER STATES SHE SAW VEHICLE #1 APPROACHING BUT HE WAS FAR ENOUGH AWAY FOR HER TO TURN LEFT. DRIVER #2 STATES VEHICLE #1 SPED UP AS SHE WAS TURNING AND SWERVED LEFT AVOIDING HITTING HER AND WENT ACROSS THE E-BOUND LANE EVENTUALLY STOPPING WHEN HE CRASHED INTO THE UTILITY POLE IN FRONT OF 1049 WASHINGTON ST. VEHICLE #1 HAD EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE AND FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. VEHICLE #2 HAD NO DAMAGE AND WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. BOTH PARTIES REPORTED NO INJURIES. DRIVER #1 WAS EVALUATED BY MEDICS AND SIGNED A PATIENT REFUSAL. VEHICLE #1 WAS TOWED BY TODYS. ALL PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. THE UTILITY POLE AT 1049 WASHINGTON ST WAS CUT IN HALF AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. THE BOTTOM HALF WAS ON THE GROUND. THE TOP HALF WAS AIRBORNE AND HELD UP BY THE ATTACHED WIRES.EVERSOURCE ARRIVED ON SCENE TO FIX THE POLE. DRIVER OF VEHICLE #1 STATED HE DID NOT HAVE A LICENSE AND OFFERED ME A BRAZILIAN PASSPORT. I CITED THE DRIVER ( CITATION NUMBER# T2080809 ) FOR 90/10 UNLICENSED OPERATOR. DRIVER GIVEN CITATION IN HAND. I FILED FOR A CRIMINAL APPLICATION FOR THE OFFENSE. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. WASHINGTON ST IS A PUBLIC WAY IN THE CITY OF NEWTON.
