Narrative:
On Friday, March 29th 2019, at approximately 5pm, I, Officer Brooks, responded to the area of 450 Crafts street to speak with an operator who was involved in an accident. On my arrival I spoke with the operator of MV1(MA REG 28Z390), who stated approximately a half hour ago she was involved in a MVA with MV2(MA REG 7HA817), at the intersection of Crafts street and Albemarle road. The operator of MV1 stated she had been traveling westbound on Crafts street, when MV2 pulled off of Albemarle road heading southbound and struck her vehicle. I observed damage to the passenger side front quarter panel and wheel well of MV1. The operator stated she exchanged information with the operator of MV2, and they both went their seperate ways. MV1 is a rental car, and then the operator of MV1 called the rental car company they requested she make a police report. I was able to speak with the operator of MV2 via telephone. He states he was traveling on Albermarle road, and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Crafts street. After stopping he began to pull out, and his vehicle "scraped" MV1. The operator of MV2 stated he never saw MV1 coming. I saw pictures of the damage to his vehicle, which consisted of scratches on the drivers side front bumper and quarter panels. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene. I provided both operators with the report number.

The OP. of MV#1 states she was travelling on Beacon Street eastbound with a steady green light and was making a right turn onto Chestnut Street. That's when there was a collision with Bicyclist#1. Bicyclist#1 was travelling eastbound on Beacon Street and approaching the intersection of Chestnut Street. He noticed a non-involved vehicle in the intersection stopped there trying to make a left turn. He observed MV#1 slowly moving around that vehicle and thought MV#1 was going to continue going straight on Beacon Street so he pedaled through. That's when MV#1 was actually making a right turn and they collided together. Bicyclist#1 sustained some mouth injury and unknown bodily injuries. His bicycle sustained some damage to the front wheel and right handle bar. He signed a patient refusal with the medics. The OP. of MV#1 gave Bicyclist#1 a ride and transported his bicycle home. Several pictures were taken of the damaged bicycle. No new damage seen on MV#1 to determine impact location.

The pole appears to have been struck by a vehicle as there are tire marks leading up to the base. The pole is resting against a new six (6) foot tall unpainted wooden fence belonging to #127 Elliot St. There was no response at the residence so I left a note for the homeowner on the front door. Pictures were taken by Traffic Officer Wade and dispatch notified the light company- Daigle Light . I caution taped off the area and pole to make it safe for passers by. There is no information on the vehicle that struck the pole and a canvass of the area revealed no further leads.

On August 1, 2019 at approximately 17:34 hours I, Officer Guarino, responded with Newton Fire and Medics for a report of a single vehicle crash into the building of 335 Boylston St. Upon arrival, the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was out of the vehicle and had minor injuries. MV1 struck a stop sign and was up against 335 Boylston St, which appeared to have a broken window and minor structural damage. Operator of MV1 said that he was traveling in the right lane of Boylston St (Westbound) when a white Mercedes sedan (unknown model or registration number) turned into his lane and almost struck his vehicle. Operator of MV1 swerved to the right to avoid a collision and as a result crashed into the stop sign on John St. and the side of 335 Boylston St. Witness 1, who was parked at 325 Boylston St. saw the incident and corroborated MV1's story. A second witness, who I was unable to make contact with stopped and gave MV1 his phone number of (508)215-4951 and texted MV1 that he caught up with the possible vehicle, MA Reg 9BT373, which comes back to DESOUZA PLASTERING SERVICES INC. I will attempt to make contact with an operator during their business hours. The owner of 335 Boylston St, Onir Spiegel, was on scene, was given the incident number and was advised to contact her insurance company. MV1 was towed from the scene by Tody's and the operator signed a patient refusal from the Medics. Pictures were taken at the scene of the damage and submitted to IT to be attached to this report. Sergeant McLean notified the DPW for the stop sign and glass in the roadway. Sergeant McLean also left a message for Newton Inspectional Services to come inspect damage to the building at a later time.

Narrative:
MV#1 was traveling North on Fair Oaks Ave, and attempted to make a right turn onto California St. MV#2 was parked in front of 589 California St facing West. MV#1 appeared to have run over the curb at the intersection, hit a city tree in front of 55 Fair Oaks Ave (California St side), and then crashed into MV#2. When I arrived on scene I observed a male party with blood on his head, and another male party standing next to him, later identified as Elmer Lopez.. I asked Elmer which car he was driving, and he stated that he was in MV#1. I asked Elmer what happened, and he stated that he and the other man with him, identified as Ricardo Deras, were in the rear seat with another male party, and that there were two other parties in the front seat, one of them was driving, he was not able to provide me with a name of who was driving. I asked him where everyone else was, and Elmer stated that after the crash, the got out of the car and ran away. At this point, medics arrived on scene and began to tend to Ricardo. I next spoke with the owner of MV#2, Jim Silva. Jim stated that he was in his home when he heard a loud crash. Jim stated that he came out of the house in time to witness the two males I was speaking with looking at the car, and he also stated that he observed three parties walk away from the scene, two heading east on California St, and one heading north on Fair Oaks Ave. MV#1 and MV#2 were towed off scene by Todys. Due to the scene, and the location of the cars in a busy street, I was not able to do a MV inventory of MV#1 until after it was towed by Todys. The inventory was done at Todys Service station, and a MV inventory sheet was filled out and placed the in appropriate box. I took three pictures of the damaged tree and submitted them to IT to be attached to this report. While I was taking the pictures of the tree, two males were walking past the scene. I stopped both parties and questioned them about the incident. They stated that they had been in the car, but had not been driving. I asked them if the knew who the driver was, and they told me that they did not know the name of the driver. Due to no witnesses observing the driver and all parties stating that it was someone else, I was not able to determine a driver of the vehicle. Units checked the area for the fifth party in the vehicle with negative results. Ricardo was transported to NWH hospital by medics. All other parties were sent on their way. All units cleared without further incident. **UPDATE** On Nov 25, 2019 at approximately 1621 hrs, I contacted Westborough Police Department in an attempt to get a hold of Dora. Westborough informed me that they made an attempt to contact her with negative results. Westborough PD left my contact information for her to call me back.

On 11/26/19 at 14:11 hours, I responded to Newton South High School located at 140 Brandeis Road for a two car motor vehicle accident involving a school transport van for the City of Newton and another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The road conditions at the time were dry and the weather was a mix of sun and clouds. Traffic conditions were heavy due to the release of school at the time. Operator of MV# 1 states he was operating straight ahead eastbound on Brandeis Road awaiting the backed up traffic in front of him that was entering the right roundabout for the main entrance to the high school. While doing so, he states that MV # 2 came up and passed him on the left to go around the traffic. MV # 2 then clipped his vehicle on the driver's side front quarter panel while passing him. I observed no visible damage to the quarter panel area and scuff marks to the left front rim which possibly were from the accident. Operator of MV # 2 states she was also operating straight ahead eastbound on Brandeis Road awaiting the backed up traffic in front. She states that once there was an opening in the roadway ahead of her, she signaled her left directional and started to pass traffic on the left. While doing so, she says that MV # 1 suddenly pulled out to the left without signaling and struck her vehicle on the front passenger side. I observed minor scuff marks to the front passenger quarter panel area and slight damage to the metal grate footstep on the passenger side. The operator was also transporting two students for the City of Newton through JSC Transportation Services at the time. Both students attend Newton South High School. Digital photos taken of the scene and damage.

When he saw there was a break in traffic, he made the left turn and did not see Bicycle#1 coming off the sidewalk, thus colliding with it. The OP. of Bicycle#1 states he was travelling westbound on Washington Street on the sidewalk. He states Washington Street westbound is too dangerous for him to ride on the roadway during rush hour traffic. As he was crossing Beacon Street, Washington Street westbound traffic still had a green light and that's when MV#1 collided into him while making a turn. The OP. of Bicycle#1 was wearing a helmet and had front and rear lights. He did not want me to take his bicycle so he brought it with him to the hospital to be picked up by a family member. The operator of vehicle 1 stated she was traveling West on the Washington Street bridge over the Mass Pike when vehicle 2, a gray SUV attempted to change lanes, as this happened the front passenger side quarter panel of vehicle 2 came in contact with the rear drivers side quarter panel of vehicle 1. This caused minor scratches to vehicle 1. The operator of vehicle 1 attempted to pull over and exchange information with the other driver. The operator of vehicle 2 continued driving away and got onto the Mass Pike, during this process the operator of vehicle 1 and the passenger of vehicle 1 were able to get the license plate number of vehicle 2 which was NY REG:T797800C. In an attempt to locate and identify the driver of vehicle 2 I ran NY REG T797800C which comes back registered to a short term rental company called Flexdrive. I called a phone number on their website 8663539399 which is listed as the number to call if you are in an accident with one of their vehicles. I was only able to speak to a service technician, a Tom Louis of ARI Fleet Service 18002272273, who told me the vehicle was out of the Flexdrive North Dighton Mass hub located at 123 Williams Street North Dighton MA 02764.Tom also mentioned the location would most likely not be open again until Monday. He did not have any other information regarding who may be operating the vehicle. I have attempted to find contact information on this North Dighton location which I have had negative results so far. I have also emailed the Flexdrive customer service department. To be followed up on. Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, I made contact with the registered owner of MV2, Flexdrive. The representative from Flexdrive stated MV2 is registered to the company but Lyft uses their vehicles for ride sharing. I contacted Lyft and spoke with a party named Jonas from their support team. Jonas stated he would make contact with the operator of MV2 and ask them to contact me to give a statement. Lyft stated they would also conduct their own internal investigation. On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, I spoke with the operator of MV2, Gary Procaccini (S36066201). Procaccini stated he was operating a 2019 Santa Fe (NY Reg: T797800C) as a Lyft driver on the evening of February 22, 2020. Procaccini stated he was traveling on Washington Street (W) towards the Massachusetts Turnpike entrance in West Newton. Procaccini stated he was in the wrong lane and looked in his mirror before attempting to merge into the correct lane. Procaccini stated to the right of his vehicle he observed a vehicle "flying" towards the entrance to the Pike. Procaccini stated he came to stop to allow the vehicle to pass. Procaccini stated the vehicle passed at a high rate of speed and he continued on his way onto the Pike (E). Procaccini stated he had a passenger in the vehicle using Lyft servies and there were no signs that a crash had taken place. Procaccini's information has been added to his report to reflect him being the operator of MV2. I then spoke with Peter Houser who is a Driver Services Representative with Lyft. Houser stated he had just visually inspected the vehicle alleged to have been involved in the crash. Houser stated the vehicle was in "pristine" condition and he observed no damage to the front passenger side quarter panel of MV2. Houser e-mailed me pictures of the vehicle. I observed no damage to MV2. Those pictures were submitted to the IT Bureau.

On April 16, 2020, while assigned to WN, I took a report at the front desk for a past MVA/Bicyclist hit and run. LISTUNOV, Oleg reported that on 4/15/20, at approximately 2000 hrs, he was traveling on his bicycle Northbound on Chestnut St. approaching the intersection of Boylston St. He stated he did not stop at the stop sign due to the hill decent, at which time he was struck by MV1 on the left side and knocked to the ground. MV1 was traveling Eastbound on the Boylston St. off ramp. LISTUNOV stated MV1 stopped at the stop sign, and probably did not see him as they then proceeded straight into the intersection. LISTUNOV stated the female driver asked if he was okay and then left the scene. He wasn't able to remember any description other than a possibly yellow, orange, or light colored car. LISTUNOV then proceeded home before responding to Brigham and Women's Hospital. He sustained the following injuries: abrasion to the left side of forehead with internal bleeding, left black eye, right dislocated pinky, cut under chin, abrasions and swelling on both knees. I took photos of his injuries and submitted them to the IT bureau. LISTUNOV was riding a black bicycle, and was wearing black jeans, blue jacket, blue baseball hat, and no helmet.

Mv#1 owner stated he parked his Mv on Lakewood Rd (opposite #23 driveway) at about 1000hrs this date. Owner stated he returned to his unoccupied parked Mv at about 1045hrs to find fresh light moderate driver's side front end damage with light scrape marks. A witness from #32 left a note indicating a beige or tan Range Rover unknown plates (Mv#2) backed into that front left bumper. I raised the witness who further stated she was on her porch and heard a noise but didn't see a collision. She stated it (#2) backed out from the driveway and observed it perpendicular to #1 trying to maneuver away from it and drive away. I raised occupant of #23 and spoke to #2 operator who was not on scene by cell phone. #2 operator was unaware of any collision. #2 texted pictures of his Mv's rear bumper. One picture appeared to show a light colored scrape on driver's side upper rear end. Mv#1 is dark blue. Mv#2 is bronze. Both parties agreed to exchange information. Both parties were advised the matter would be documented and to proceed further with their respective insurance companies.

Narrative:
On 06/10/2020 at approximately 16:30 hours, Sgt. Lee (Unit 531) and I (Unit 523) responded to Waverley Avenue and Sargent Street for a two car motor vehicle accident that involved one vehicle rolling over and a possible head injury to that driver. The accident occurred at 16:11 hours on this date. Both streets are public ways and maintained by the City of Newton. On arrival, I observed a black Hyundai Elantra (MV1) bearing MA Reg.# 1DHN15 resting in the middle of the intersection facing eastbound on Sargent Street heading towards Kenrick Street. The vehicle had heavy front end damage. I then observed a gray Honda CRV (MV2) bearing MA Reg.# 8DZB10 rolled over resting on it's hood facing in a northeasterly direction in the southbound travel lane of Waverley Avenue just past the intersection. I observed the point of impact to be on the passenger side rear wheel area due to the damage which included a large dent above the tire well. Digital photos were taken of the scene and intersection. At this point the operator, Jose Valderrama (MA DL# S27590058), of MV2 was already transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA for a possible head injury. The operator was also not aware of what occurred at the time by the responding officers. It was also determined by the initial responding officers (Sgt. Rooney, Ofc. Pohlman & Ofc. Anderson) that Mr. Valderrama driver's license was suspended in Massachusetts by NPD Dispatch. Next, I spoke to the operator of MV1 identified as Cora Lyden (ME DL# 8625330). Lyden states that she was traveling straight ahead (EB) on Sargent Street attempting to go straight through the intersection on to Kenrick Street. She says as she approached the intersection the signal light changed to yellow and she proceeded through when she suddenly saw MV2 coming at her. She then jammed on her brakes and then made contact with the other vehicle. She says that the other driver must have been speeding and went through the red light. Next, Sgt. Lee and I responded to Beth Israel Hospital for a follow up on Mr. Valderrama. The hospital staff stated that there were no signs of a head injury and that he was now coherent. He sustained road rash on his left arm and shoulder area due to the seatbelt and front air bag deployment. We then spoke to him and he stated that he was traveling straight ahead (SB) on Waverley Avenue at about 30 to 35 miles per hour. He says that his signal light was green when he attempted to go through the intersection and another motor vehicle made contact with him. After that, he does not recall what occurred. I asked him if he saw the other vehicle approaching and he stated that he did not see it. After at the station, I followed up with Dispatch and they stated that there was two people that called in to report the accident that they attempted to call back to see if they witnessed the event. They had since not returned their call. I then called both numbers and both parties stated that they were only notifying us and did not observe the accident occur. Due to conflicting statements by both operators and no witnesses on scene, I am unable to determine fault for the accident. Mr. Valderrama will be issued MA Uniform Citation #T2080466 for Ch. 90/S23/E Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension of License. Tody's towing responded and towed both vehicles. M/V inventories completed by me.

On June 14, 2020 at approximately 17:13 hours Newton Police responded to Union St at Langley Rd for a report of a motor vehicle crash into bicyclist where the motorist took off. Upon arrival, I spoke with the operator of Bike1, who informed me that he was traveling eastbound on Union St when he rode his bicycle into the back of MV1. MV1 did not get out of the vehicle and drove away from the scene. Bike1 informed me that he was traveling behind MV1 and observed MV1 traveling slow on Union St at approximately 10-15mph. MV1 stopped at 45 Union St which is when he collided into the rear bumper. Witness 1 said that she saw a white male operator of MV1 and a female passenger. Both the operator and passenger looked behind them and then continued to drive away. it is unknown if the operator was aware that there was a collision. It should be noted that the collision caused a loud yell and bang that multiple people were able to hear. Bike1 did not have any visible damage to his bicycle and declined medical attention. A photograph of MV1 was forwarded to IT to be attached to this report along with a photograph of bike 1.

On Sunday July 5, 2020 at approx. 0940 hours I responded to 225 Harvard Cir.for a report of a past hit/run that occurred in the area of 137 Comm Ave between the Saturday July 4, 20202, 2330 hours - Sunday July 5, 2020 at 0800 hours. Upon arrival I spoke with the RP Alison Leav, she stated she parked her vehicle in the area of 137 Comm Ave around 2000 hours on Saturday July 4, 2020. She stated she observed her vehicle again around 2300 hours with no damage, and this morning at approx. 0800 observed the driver side of her vehicle had been side swiped from the rear bumper to the front fender. She also showed me a broken piece of a vehicle that was involved in the crash. I observed damage on the driver side rear quarter/bumper along the whole driver side to the front fender including the both left side wheels. I looked at the broken piece belonging to the other vehicle. The color appeared to be blue and was consistent with the color on the damaged left side of the vehicle. The broken piece appeared to be a right side mirror with a writing inside the part " RH - 75854 >ABS< CAV 4. I Google the part and may come back to a 1997-2005 Chevy Cavalier. I took pictures of the part that will be downloaded at the I.T. Bureau. No injuries and party was advised of the process.

Narrative:
On 07/28/2020 at 1221hrs I responded to the area of 23 Oak St for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The involved pedestrian had left the area prior to my arrival. The vehicle that was involved in crash was also not on scene. The crash occurred on 07/28/2020 at approximately 0900hrs in the driveway of 27 Oak St. Prior to the crash the involved vehicle described as a 1991 Chrysler TC Convertible color Red bearing MA Antique Reg D2935 ( Active) was located in the driveway of 23 Oak St. The vehicle was facing toward the rear of the driveway. The vehicle then rolled in reverse easterly across the common driveway and struck a pedestrian who was located in the driveway of 27 Oak St. After contact with the pedestrian the vehicle came to final rest in the driveway of 27 Oak St. As a result of the impact the pedestrian sustained a minor injury to her left knee. There were no occupants in the involved vehicle at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if the vehicle sustained any damage. The pedestrian left the area prior to this crash being reported to NPD. The vehicle was removed from the area prior to the crash being reported to NPD. I then spoke to the owner of the involved vehicle Marc Dumoulin who was on scene and was the reporting person. Dumoulin stated that the crash occurred today 07/28/2020 at approximately 0900hrs. Dumoulin states that the involved vehicle described as a 1991 Chrysler Convertible was having issues due to a gas tank problem and he believes it wasn't going to pass inspection. Dumoulin stated that he took his vehicle for a final test ride around the block to decide if he wanted to keep it or not. Dumoulin states that after operating the vehicle he decided to salvage the vehicle with CJ Auto in Watertown, MA. Dumoulin states that before going to CJ Auto he decided to stop back at his home first. Dumoulin states he then parked the vehicle at this driveway and got out to go in the house. Dumoulin states that he believes the vehicle was running at this time. Dumoulin states that as he was walking toward his house he observed his vehicle rolling in reverse towards his neighbor's driveway. Dumoulin states that the vehicle then rolled into his neighbor's driveway near his neighbors fence. Dumoulin states that the pedestrian was outside near the fence when his vehicle rolled into his neighbor's driveway.Dumoulin states that he did not initially report the crash because he did not believe that his vehicle had come in contact with the pedestrian. Dumoulin states that he then removed the vehicle from his neighbor's driveway and brought it to CJ Auto for salvage. Dumoulin states that when he returned to his residence he became aware that the pedestrian may have been struck by his vehicle and had a minor injury. Dumoulin states that upon hearing this he called NPD. At this time I was met by Nina Levin who is the homeowner of 27 Oak St. Levin stated that she did not observe the crash but a contractor working on her house did. Levin stated that the pedestrian involved was named Lucero Flores-Roman and that Flores-Roman was outside attending to some potted plants when she was hit by the involved vehicle. Levin stated that Flores-Roman received an injury to her left knee. Levin stated that she took photo's after the crash of the involved vehicle and of Flores-Roman's knee. Levin provided me with these photo's which I then submitted to the IT Bureau. Levin provided me with Flores-Romans contact phone number. Dumoulin also provided his insurance information to Levin so that she could relay the information to Flores-Roman. I then spoke with a witness Gleb Andreev who was a carpenter working at 27 Oak St. Andreev states that he was inside of 27 Oak St working on a first floor window facing the driveway. Andreev state he observed the involved vehicle roll into the driveway and come to rest near the pedestrian. Gleb stated he then went out side to assist the pedestrian. Gleb stated he believed the vehicle hit the pedestrian when it rolled into the driveway. At 0230 hrs I was able to speak with the involved pedestrian Lucero Flores-Roman. Flores-Roman states that around 0900hrs today she was in the driveway of 27 Oak St attending to some plants near a wooden fence. Flores-Roman stated that her back was turned towards the area of 25 Oak St, she then on a hunch turned around and observed the involved vehicle in reverse moving towards her. Flores-Roman stated that she turned her body quickly to avoid the vehicle but the vehicle's rear end passengers side made contact with her left knee. Flores-Roman stated that she sustained a minor injury to her left knee which included some bruising and swelling. Flores-Roman states that after crash she did not think she needed an ambulance but wanted to go home to rest her knee. Flores-Roman was then provided with Dumoulin's insurance information. No other injuries reported on scene. Photo's were taken on scene and were submitted to the IT Bureau. On 07/29/2020 I responded to CJ Auto's Salvage Yard located at 43 White Pond Rd Stow, MA which was the present location of the involved vehicle. Upon arrival I observed the involved vehicle which did not appear to have exterior damage. Photo's were taken of the vehicle and were submitted to the IT Bureau. An RMV check of vehicle revealed that a title was issued to Dumoulin on 03/25/2020. The vehicle has not been inspected by a MA inspection station. The vehicle title has been signed over by Dumoulin to CJ Auto for destruction. At this time it is unknown if the crash was caused by mechanical failure with the vehicle or human error.

On August 1, 2020 I responded to a single motor vehicle crash at 1200 Walnut St. I spoke to the owner of MV1 who said that he parked MV1 in front of 1177 Walnut St to run across the street and pick up his mail. When he exited his vehicle, he noticed that his vehicle began rolling southbound on Walnut St and crashed into city poles in front of 1200 Walnut St. The owner of MV1 said that he had recently got his vehicle inspected but periodically would have the brake light come on and was planning on contacting his mechanic. MV1 has a manual transmission, and the owner said that he put the vehicle in gear, shut the vehicle off and used the electronic emergency brake. He believes that the emergency brake may have malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to roll southbound on Walnut St and crash. As a result of the crash, MV1 sustained front end damage and there was visible damage to the city poles (used to protect the tree on the sidewalk). Officer Raymond took photographs of the damaged city property and submitted them to IT to be attached to this report.

On August 13th, 2020, while working in marked unit N526, I responded to a 2 car MVA involving pedestrians at the intersection of Beacon Street and Chestnut Street, Newton. The weather at the time of the crash was clear and sunny. The road surface was dry. Beacon Street and Chestnut Street are both public ways maintained by the City of Newton. The operator of MV1, Maria Dinapoli (S92626906), stated she was operating her 2018 Toyota Corolla ( MA REG: 1KNW71) heading west on Beacon Street and had the green light at the intersection of Chestnut Street. Dinapoli stated she was traveling straight through the intersection when MV2 which was traveling east on Beacon Street at the time cut infront of her vehicle to take a left turn onto Chestnut Street. Dinapoli stated she applied her brakes but was unable to stop in time and made contact with MV2. The impact of the crash caused MV1 to drive over the curb and onto the sidewalk where it made light contact with a baby stroller with a 1 year old inside. MV1 also struck and damaged a Newton Fire Department box that was located on the sidewalk. The baby stroller was being operated by the mother identified as Anna Gilman (S11328154). The pedestrians reported no injuries and signed patient refusals with Medic 2. MV1 sustained moderate front end damage and was towed from the scene by Todys. Dinapoli also reported no injuries and signed a patient refusal with Medic 2. The operator of MV2, Leena Dolabany (S12410136), stated she was operating her 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee (MA REG: 1TCZ14) heading east on Beacon Street and had the green light at the intersection of Chestnut Street. Dolabany stated she was in a line of cars in traffic waiting to take the left turn onto Chestnut Street. Dolabany stated as the cars infront of her continued through the intersection she took a left onto Chestnut Street and as she was already into the turn she was struck by MV1. MV2 sustained moderate damage to the passenger side panel. Dolabany reported no injuries and signed a patient refusal by Medic 2. A query of all vehicles and parties involved through dispatch determined that MV2 was revoked for insurance. After speaking with the operator I was informed that MV2 had recently switched insurance agencies and Dolabany was able to provide paperwork from Geico Insurance stating the vehicle was insured. Due to the registry not displaying a valid registration, MV2 was towed from the scene by Todys. I advised Dolabany to contact her insurance company and advise them to update their information with the registry so she can retrieve the vehicle. Photographs of the scene and damage to city property were taken by Officer Wilson and submitted to the IT Bureau. On August 14th, 2020 I spoke with the operator of MV2, Leena Dolabany and her father George Dolabany in the front lobby of the police station. They provided paperwork from Geico Insurance that stated the vehicle was infact insured at the time of the accident and that there was an error made by the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Sgt. Devine and I advised them that we have to use the Registry's database for our investigation and because it still states the vehicle is revoked for insurance we can not release the license plates. Sgt. Devine advised them they could get another tow company to come and take custody of the vehicle but the plates will be seized until the registry shows an active status on the registration. I issued Mass uniform citation T2017328 in hand to Leena and advised her she will be summoned for a hearing for the following violations; Ch 90 section 34J Operating MV without insurance and Ch 90 section 9 Unregistered MV.

On Tuesday October 13, 2020 at approx 1323 hours I went to the area of Anthony Rd at Anthony Cir for a report of a past hit/run that occurred at approx. 1215 hours in the westbound lane of 697 Washington Street. Upon arrival I met the operator of v1 Ms. OLGA KHOLODENKO, she stated she was traveling westbound in the left lane of Washington Street around the Whole foods area which is 697 Washington Street. She stated while traveling a red truck with a red trailer was on her right side traveling along side her, and while traveling the trailer had "swung" into her passenger side of her vehicle. She stated the truck/trailer kept traveling and she followed the trailer and took pictures while driving. She then went home and called her insurance company with the picture of the registration plate and they gave her the information which brought them at Anthony Rd at Anthony Cir, where the registered owner lived. The truck / trailer was not at the location. The trailer is MA trailer reg # C39390 a 2013 Brav trailer color red registered to CIRO CARBONE AND SONS INC 12 ANTHONY CIR NEWTON MA. Her vehicle is a 2020 Kia utility color white MA reg. 6ZG351. I observed some red transferred paint on her passenger side from the rear door to the front door. I advised them of process and I would look into the trailer. I was able to find the truck/trailer on California St at Dalby Street. I looked around the trailer and observed a minor scratch on the driver side of the trailer near the front of the trailer. I contacted the owner who due to the heavy rain all day sent home his employees. I will update oper 2 statement when I talk to him. At this time it appears with the trailer scratch being minor a reasonable person would have not known. Update: Monday October 19, 2020 I spoke with the oper of v2 via phone, he stated he was on Washington Street near Whole Foods traveling westbound with the truck/trailer. He stated he was traveling in the right travel lane. He stated the truck/ trailer was always in the proper slow lane and didn't know about the contact until I notified him. I advised him of the crash process.

The owner of MV#1 stated she came out of work at NWH at 0730hrs and noticed the passenger front of her vehicle was damaged. She stated that she parked her vehicle in the that space at 2330hrs the night before. I observed significant damage to the passenger front of the vehicle. It should be noted that I did not observe and parts on the ground or any debris indicating that the accident occurred in that location. The headlight was totally shattered out and there were missing parts from vehicle. There was also a fluid trail that appeared to be leaking from the front passenger side. This trail indicated that the vehicle was driven and backed in to the parking space after the collision took place. Based on my training and experience I do not believe that vehicle was struck in that location as a hit and run. There were no cameras in the area. The owner requested her own tow for the vehicle. I submitted a photo of the claimed hit and run scene to the IT bureau and it was attached to this accident report.

On November 1st, 2020 at approximately 14:02 hours while assigned to N491 I responded along with Newton Fire and Medic One to the intersection of Pearl St @ Jackson Rd for a MV crash with minor injuries. On my arrival I first observed in the intersection a green colored Volkswagon with Vermont tag,HPK270 with extensive damage. The other involved vehicle a white Jeep Wrangler, bearing Ma tag, 8WK846 was located on the property of the Lincoln Elliot School, 191 Pearl St, also with extensive damage. The operator of the green Volkswagon was identified as Viorel Marin. He stated he was going E/B on Pearl St and was approaching the intersection of Jackson Rd when the light had turned green. As he was entered the intersection vehicle #2 came from his right side(N/B) on Jackson Rd at, according to him, a high rate of speed causing his vehicle to collide with the Jeep. He doesn't remember much after that. I observed a small cut to his right knee and later he showed me a small abrasion to his forehead. All his air bags had deployed on contact with vehicle #2 . I located the operator of the Jeep who was sitting on the ground being assisted by an unidentified women(not a passenger). She appeared shaken but had no visible signs of any serious injury from the crash. She identified herself as Tara Feeley. According to Ms Feeley she had been travelling N/B on Jackson Rd and was attempting to continue straight across the intersection of Pearl St when she was struck by vehicle #1 in the intersection. The impact caused her vehicle to flip over unknown amount of times finally landing on the property to the Lincoln Eliot School. Based on operator #2's statements, my observations of the scene, damage to her MV, it appeared her vehicle after contact with vehicle #1, flipped over N/B across the intersection first hitting the traffic light on the northeast corner, additionally making contact with the utility pole just east of the traffic light before finally landing right side up on the property of the Lincoln Eliot School. She reported climbing out her passenger side window when her vehicle finally stopped. She said,"she was lucky she had her seat belt on". I agreed. Ms Feeley also reported that she was sure that her light was green as she entered the intersection. I attempted to locate any possible witnesses from the crowd that were gathered near the crash site. There were two that heard the crash but none that actually saw what happened. I couldn't locate any cameras near the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the extensive damage/both totaled. Both operators had minor injuries and both declined to be transported to the hospital. They signed patient refusals. Officer Danny Anderson later took several pictures of the crash scene and the all the property damage. Both utility companies were notified. The camera disc was placed in the technology bureau mailbox.

MV1 was parked in front of Silver Lake Laundromat in the parking lot at 230 Adams St. facing Eastbound. Owner of MV1 stated she was inside folding laundry between 2:30AM and 3AM. Stated that she discovered that her driver side head light was damage and had fallen off her vehicle around 3:30AM when clearing snow off her vehicle. Owner of MV1 stated that she believes that the driver of an unknown white truck that was plowing the parking lot had backed into her vehicle stricking the driver side headlight of her vehicle. I asked the owner if she saw the incident occur which she stated "no." I also if she had the plate or had any other description of the truck, which she replied "no." Photographs of the damage and the scene were taken and forward to the IT Bureau to be attached to this report. Owner of MV1 stated that she spoke to the operator of the white truck, and described him as a tall, older white male who was wearing a black hat and had dark mustache. This person was not on scene when I arrived and the owner of MV1 stated the operator of the unknown white truck stated that he had not hit her vehicle. Due to snow from an on going snow storm, I did not witness any vehicle tracks by her vehicle. There were also no security cameras in the parking that would of recorded the incident. Owner of MV1 was given a crash report # in regards to the incident.

Narrative:
On Tuesday 12/22/2020, at approximately 1730 hours, I, Ofc Donald Murphy, met a party at the front desk in regards to a hit and run incident. I spoke with Andrew Shvetts, who stated his wife Tetianna Shvets's vehicle was struck today in the parking lot of Baza grocery market from 10 am-11 am. The owner of MV 1, Tetianna Shvets was shopping at Baza grocery market while her vehicle, MV 1, was parked in the parking lot. When Tetianna returned to her vehicle there was a note on her windshield stating MV 2 struck her vehicle "possibly" on the right rear side and left the scene. The plate of the vehicle was left on the note as well. There was no contact information of the witness left on the note or any manner of collision. There was minimal damage (a few scratches) on MV 1. Andrew provided photos of the damage to the vehicle and the note left on the windshield. The photos of the damage and note are attached to this report. The plate came back to 79 Wheeler Rd in Newton. I went to the address to follow up with the operator of MV 2. I spoke with the owner and operator of MV 2, Mrs. Lyuba Regelman. Lyuba admitted to shopping at Baza grocery market today. Lyuba denied hitting MV1 and there was no damage to her vehicle I could see that matched the damage from the incident. I will not be seeking charges on Lyuba for leaving the scene because there is no contact information of the witness and there is no matching damage to MV 2.

Narrative:
Operator #1 states that he was waiting for the light to turn green in the left turn only lane located at Crafts St at Waltham St, when he was sideswiped on the rear driver's side by vehicle #2. Operator #1 had no idea where vehicle #2 approached from and states he was extremely alarmed at the driving manner of operator #2. It should be noted that the only feasible way for a same direction sideswipe to have occurred on vehicle #1's driver's side while in the left turn only lane, is if vehicle #2 was driving in the lane of oncoming traffic. Operator #1 states the vehicle did not stop after the crash and took a left turn onto Waltham St. Operator #1 followed the vehicle, beeping his horn repeatedly until the two vehicles came to a stop on Pleasant St near Waltham St. Operator #1 states that he and operator #2, decribed as a black female in her 30's, then exited their respective vehicles briefly before operator #2 got back into her car and drove away again. When I asked if there was any verbal exchange between the two, operator #1 states that operator #2 was acting erratic and stated something inaudible before leaving the scene again. Operator #1 was able to get a picture of vehicle #2's license plate, MA reg 42X230. The plate comes back suspended to a Rochelle Burke out of 145 Lexington St apt 17 in Auburndale. Burke has a suspended license also and a lengthy driver history. I responded to 145 Lexington St and located the vehicle in question parked behind the building. It was parked at an approximate 45 degree angle in a parking space, had damage to the front bumper, and the hood of the vehicle was warm to the touch. I eventually was able to speak to owner Rochelle Burke. She denied driving the vehicle but acknowledged that a crash did occur. When asked why she left the scene of the crash without exchanging information, Burke stated "I don't know". I inquired as to who was driving the vehicle and she stated "my boyfriend". Burke's version of events was that her vehicle was the one in the left turn only lane, and that vehicle #1 crashed into her while trying to merge into the left turn lane. After speaking again to operator #1, he stated with "100 percent certainty" that the driver of vehicle #2 was a black female in her 30's. He added that there looked to be a male passenger in the front right side. Given the provided statements and the actions of operator #2, I will be mailing Rochelle Burke MA citation T2013024 for the following: 90/24(2) - Leaving the Scene of Property Damage 90/23 - Operating After a Suspended License 90/23 - Operating After a Suspended Registration Pictures were taken of vehicle #2 and submitted to the IT Bureau to be attached to this report. No medical attention was requested by any involved parties.

On Wednesday February 17th, 2021 I responded to the intersection of Boylston Street and Centre Street for a motor vehicle accident involving a city vehicle. At the time of the accident the weather was sunny and the road conditions were dry. Boylston Street and Centre Street are both public ways in the city of Newton. Upon arrival I was met with Sgt. Dempsey who was working a paid city of newton detail at the intersection. Sgt. Dempsey stated the DPW workers were set up in the intersection and a motor vehicle in traffic struck the drivers side corner of the trailer that was parked causing minor damage. No one was operating the trailer at the time of the accident. (cid:31)(cid:31)(cid:31)The operator of the MV involved was identified as Elizabeth Schmidt Scheuber (NHL13233764). She stated she was attempting to go around the trailer and struck the back corner with her vehicle causing moderate damage to her vehicle, NH REG 4199866. The vehicle sustained a flat front passenger tire and passenger side panel damage. Pictures of both vehicles were taken and submitted to the IT Bureau. Elizabeth reported no injuries and was escorted to her appointment which was a block away. Narrative:
Operator Diego Colindres states he was stopped at the stop sign located on Central St westbound at Grove St. As he proceeded through the sign to drive onto Grove St, a female jogger ran out into the street from the sidewalk in front of 16 Grove. Colindres reports he did not see the jogger until his front bumper made contact with the jogger's leg, which in turn knocked her to the ground. The jogger then got up, said she was ok, and tried to continue on her way. Colindres asked her to stay on scene and wait for emergency personnel, to which she obliged. It should be noted that there are bushes located in front of 16 Grove St which substantially hinder the view of the sidewalk for vehicles approaching Grove from Central. Jogger Rachel Coffin confirmed that she was crossing Central St heading southbound on Grove St when she was hit by vehicle #1. Coffin was not sure if she stopped prior to crossing the street, and did not see the vehicle until contact was made. She does recall that the vehicle was traveling at a slow rate of speed when she was struck. Coffin's attire consisted of dark colored shorts, a navy t-shirt, and white sneakers. I observed a light red area on Coffin's outer left thigh consistent with the height of vehicle #1's front bumper. She was tended to by the medics and declined transport, repeatedly saying that she just wanted to get back to school (Lasell) and do her homework. Due to Coffin's uncooperativeness and multiple requests to leave the scene, pictures of her minor injury were not taken. There was no visible damage to vehicle #1. Traffic responded, however Coffin wished to leave prior to arrival.

On Wednesday April 7th, 2021 I responded to 309 Crafts Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a City of Newton contracted school bus (mini-van). At the time of the accident the weather was cloudy and the road surface was dry. Crafts Street is operated and maintained by the City of Newton. Upon arrival I spoke with the operator of the school bus identified as Sybil Berry (S93963801). She stated she had just turned left from Walnut Street onto Crafts Street and was traveling eastbound when a parked vehicle on Crafts Street pulled into the travel lane at the same time as she was traveling straight, and made contact with her vehicle. Sybil's vehicle sustained minor passenger side panel damage. Photographs of the damage were taken and submitted to the IT Bureau. Sybil stated the operator of the motor vehicle couldn't wait for police to respond but he left his information. The operator of the other vehicle involved was identified as Jun Nakmoo. I was able to speak with Jun but there was a strong language barrier. Jun stated he was parked on Crafts street and did not see any vehicles coming his way so he pulled into traffic. Jun stated the mini van appeared out of nowhere and sideswiped his car. Jun reported minor damage to his drivers side panel. Both vehicles were able to drive safely from the scene. The school bus had two children passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The children were identified as John Castellano (07/31/09) and Delsi Castellano (06/26/11). Both students were not injured and were picked up by their mother Adria Castellano (01/05/81). The children both attend Bowen Elementary School and were being transported to Waltham.

On Friday April 9, 2021 at approx. 1343 hours I responded to 281 Needham Street for a report of a hit/run involving two vehicles. Upon arrival I met with oper of V1. She stated she pulled into the parking lot of 281 Needham Street, she observed a open parking spot that was next to a blue van that was parked in the handicap spot next to the open spot. She stated she was backing into a parking spot when V2 ( the blue van) all of sudden backed into her vehicle on the pass side rear. She further stated the oper of V2 exited his vehicle started yelling at her and drove off. She described the man of being in his 60's. Witness stated he did not observe the crash but wrote down the registration plate of the blue van which was driving away after the crash which was MA reg. 7WH752. I queried the registration which came back to a 2013 Ford van color blue registered to K.LEVANA of 110 Woodcliff Rd Brookline. Dispatch attempted to leave messages. Dispatch was also able to find another party identified as MA lic # S13435214 Michael Hasson d.o.b. 9-27-49 of same address. I ran license to obtain R1 photo through my computer and the oper of V1 stated for sure that was the driver. Other attempts were made to contact Mr. Hasson and at approx. 1530 hours he came into NPD headquarters to make a statement. He stated he was parked in the handicap spot, he backed up and did not observe V1 until impact. He stated after impact he exited his van and an argument began with oper of V1. He stated he has a medical condition and had to leave to use the bathroom. I advised there are several businesses and he just left one that had a bathroom to use. He stated he was nervous but had to go the bathroom right away and left to go to another place to use the bathroom. I asked him if he got any medical treatment after the crash, he stated no. I asked him if he needed medical attention, he stated no. He also stated there was not any damage to his van. I asked him if he had a HP placard since he was parked in a HP spot, he stated he did not have a HP placard. I advised him of the violation for a HP. I advised at this time of a verbal warning. All parties were advised of process.

On 4/17/21 at 0905hrs I was dispatched to 1178 Walnut St for a report of a past hit & run MVA. On arrival, I met Ms Debra Kim who had just pulled over at that address after noticing a city parking meter (zone#2461 ) was run over which was pushed onto a city tree (minor tree damage) and then the front of the building including a front door support post was struck by an unknown MV. Building damage appears minor. Building is vacant, no tenants. Ms Kim stated her father Dae Kim is the owner of the building. Crash debris left behind (no plates found) indicated the unknown MV drove off Walnut St N/B, crashed into the meters, over the sidewalk and into the building. Photos of the area were taken and will be submitted to the IT bureau. City notified. Prior to completing this report, Ms Kim called NPD to report the neighbor from 1176 Walnut has video surveillance from the crash. Ms Kim stated according to the video time, the crash occurred yesterday 4/16 at 0715hrs. She described watching on the video a black sedan possibly a Buick crash into the building back up and continue on Walnut St N/B. She stated no plates, operators or passengers could be seen on the video. Ms Kim will email me the video.

This accident was reported approx. 8 hours later due to reporting party not familiar with laws in the U.S. Bicyclist #1 doesn't speak English well and needed her husband (Siarhei Byk) to translate. Bicyclist #1 stated on 05/17/2020 at approx. 1600 hrs., she was travelling southbound on Chestnut Street on the sidewalk. While crossing Anita Cir, MV#1 approached the intersection and collided into her. She was thrown onto the hood of MV#1 as a result of the collision. The OP. of MV#1 helped her into his car and drove her home. The OP. of MV#1 only gave her a business card and nothing else. The husband of Bicyclist #1 came home later and drove Bicyclist #1 to the hospital to be checked out. The husband of Bicyclist #1 called the OP. of MV#1 to get some car insurance information and was denied. The OP. of MV#1 stated he felt uncomfortable giving that information and they would talk the next day about it. The husband of Bicyclist #1 felt this was strange and decided to report it to the police after getting out of the hospital. Bicyclist #1 was wearing black pants and a blue shirt. She did not have a helmet on and didn't have any reflective clothing on. She sustained bruising to both legs and didn't get a concussion. Her bicycle gears and her wheel was damaged from the accident and pictures were taken by me. The brand of the bicycle is Infinity Hybrid and it cost approx. $350.00 USD when new. Bicyclist #1 describes the OP. of MV#1 as a white male around 50's - 60's years of age. She describes the vehicle that struck her as a red SUV. The OP. of MV#1 gave a business card with the name Ruth Robart out of 28 Richardson Rd., Newton 617-818-8660. Further investigation revealed a Ralph Robart out of that address with a similar age. Due to the time of night, the investigation would be postponed to daylight hours. At approx. 1550 hrs., I made contact with the OP. of MV#1. He stated he was stopped on Anita Cir., waiting to make a right turn onto Chestnut Street. When there was no more oncoming traffic to his left, he looked to the right and saw it was clear as well and started to accelerate. That's when Bicyclist #1 suddenly rode out from the sidewalk and they collided together. There's a 6 foot wall from a residence that blocked his vision to see further down the sidewalk. The OP. of MV#1 stated there was no damage to his vehicle.

Another worker from Thistle and Leek, Christian McNeill, states he witnessed a BMW back into the Subaru more than once attempting to turn around before leaving the alley. I observed paint damage on the rear end of the Subaru. Steven was able to take a picture of the BMWs plate (NY: MD60330) before it left. I was able to find the vehicles information and two phone numbers for the registered owner. I will be contacting them on my next tour of duty. Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): On Thursday, May 27, 2021, I was able to make contact with the registered owner of MV2. Mr. Stephen Gorfine (NY: 392 858 797) stated he was operating his 2007 BMW 750 (NY: 60330) at the time and location of the crash. Mr. Gorfine stated he was not aware he was involved in a crash. I explained to Mr. Gorfine that two witnesses observed his vehicle crash into MV1 as it was parked unoccupied. Mr. Gorfine stated he has hit many cars in the past and has been hit himself. Mr. Gorfine did not appear to understand the brevity of causing damage to MV1 and not stopping to attempt to provide his information to the owner. Witness said she saw veh#2 strike the front drivers side fender of her husbands parked vehicle-veh#1. The owner of veh#2 arrived back on scene and stated she did make a u-turn yesterday in the area of parked veh #1 but stated she didn't believe she struck it. There is damage to veh #2 consistent with the damage to veh #1 in the area which it was struck but the owner of veh #2 stated it was old damage. Owner stated she bought the car used with that damage and showed me pictures as evidence dated last year. Both owners were advised to file an accident report. On August 27th 2021, Miriam Nkuba DOB 6/30/56 came to Newton Police Headquarters to report a past hit and run. Nkuba states that around 1500 hrs today, she was shopping in Star Market at 1 Boyston St. When she exited the store and returned to her vehicle in the lot (MA reg 7CNJ50), there were security workers cleaning debris from around her car. Immediately apparent was damage to the rear left tail light/bumper area. The security workers then directed Nkuba to witness Kate Sweeney, who was able to provide a picture of MA reg 4AX435, a black Chevrolet Suburban. Sweeney told Nkuba that the Suburban had hit her car and left the scene. I called Sweeney and spoke with her directly. She relayed that she was in a nearby store and heard a loud crash. Her attention was directed outside to a black Suburban slowly driving with obvious front passenger side damage. The vehicle then stopped in a parking space, and a heavy set woman exited from the driver's seat to inspect the damage on the front right side. The woman then got back into the vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction. 4AX435 comes back active on a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban color black to Maria Dasilva Alves out of West Roxbury. Narrative:
On September 2, 2021, I responded to the front desk of Newton Police Headquarters to speak with Charles Rankin who wanted to report a past hit and run. Mr. Rankin stated his vehicle (vehicle 1) was parked unoccupied by the curb at 70 Orchard Ave ( Public way in the City of Newton) on Tuesday, August 31. Later that day, he discovered damage to his drivers side mirror. He stated that a note was left behind stating that Massachusetts registration: V91699 struck his vehicle and left the area. He does not know who left the note due to no contact information being left behind. Mr. Rankin showed me a picture of the damage and it appears vehicle 2 side swiped vehicle 1 causing significant damage to the mirror. Mr. Rankin did research and discovered that the plate is registered to JCAC Enterprise out of Milford and provided me with a phone number. It should be noted that when I queried the plate it comes back to that company as well. I will attempt to follow up with the company during business hours on my next tour of duty. On September 3, I called JCAC Enterprise and spoke with an employee who stated they do not have any information on someone driving a truck in the area. They also stated that Mr. Rankin called them and they are going to pay for damages.

Narrative:
Mv#1 was parked unoccupied opposite #8 Burrage Rd (N/B). #1 was sideswiped by an unknown Mv that left white paint transfer damage on #1's driver's side front end side and also struck the driver's side mirror all causing moderate damage. I spoke to the resident at 8 Burrage Rd. The resident stated a visitor in his house, Jonathan Kaplan, witnessed the accident. The resident stated Kaplan told him he observed a white sedan bearing MA Reg CIAF31 (Mv#2) attempting to parallel park between #1 and another Mv. During the attempt, #2 was observed sideswiping #1. Kaplan further stated a male operator got out of #2, left a note on #1 and drove away. Mv#1 owner/operator Ms Joan Beer stated no note was ever found. Later from HQ, I called the witness phone number provided (617-455-2557) by the resident of 8 Burrage Rd. I called that number, received VM and left a message. A query of #2 registration comes back on a '18 white Lexus G350 to a Mr Barry Benjamin of 79 Florence St #510S Newton. I received information Mr Benjamin's phone number was 339-223-0079. This number when called was not Mr Benjamin's. Later from HQ, I spoke to Ms Beer and provided her with the witness plate number observed as the paint color is a match to the damage sustained on her Mv. She was advised insurance company will investigate further based on current information received. Later, the witness Mr Kaplan returned my phone call and provided the following statement: Kaplan stated he was in his driveway outside directly across the street from where the accident was taking place. Kaplan stated the accident was very obvious as damage was unfolding while Mr Benjamin was attempting to squeeze between Mv#1 and another vehicle. Kaplan stated after realizing he (Mr Benjamin) could not fit he started to drive away. Kaplan stated it drew the attention of another witness (unknown) standing on the street when both walked up to Mr Benjamin's vehicle and asked him if he was going to leave a note for the damaged vehicles. Benjamin refused. Kaplan described Benjamin's overall demeanor as "rude." Kaplan stated he told Benjamin he has cameras capturing the incident. Not until then, Benjamin got out of his car and left a note on only the other vehicle reported to be minor license plate damage. Kaplan stated Benjamin never left a note on Mv#1, the vehicle with obvious moderate damage. Kaplan stated he actually viewed the note left on the other vehicle and said it was illegible. Kaplan told Benjamin this and Benjamin yelled to him "mind your own business" and drove away. Kaplan stated his ring doorbell camera was not positioned to capture any of the incident. Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): On September 8, 2021 I was able to make contact with the operator of MV2, Mr. Barry Benjamin (S42076881). Mr. Benjamin stated he was operating his 2018 Lexus G350 (MA: CIAF31) at the time of the crash. Mr. Benjamin stated he was backing his vehicle into a parking spot and the space ended up being too small. Mr. Benjamin stated the rear of his vehicle crashed into the front bumper area of MV1, knocking off it's license plate. Mr. Benjamin stated he got out of his vehicle and put the plate back on MV1. Mr. Benjamin stated he left a note in the vehicle with his contact information and left the area. I asked Mr. Benjamin if he was aware of making contact with another vehicle in the area. Mr. Benjamin stated he did not make contact with any other vehicle. Mr. Benjamin stated there was no damage to his vehicle and stated he would e-mail me pictures of his vehicle and pictures of MV1 that he took on scene. Those pictures were forwarded to the IT Bureau to be added to this report. Mr. Benjamin also stated in his e-mail, "My wife informed me that the homeowner who contacted the police called my wifes attention to a car up the street. The car was on the opposite side near a dirt road that had been side swiped earlier. My wife said, "That has nothing to do with us" and the homeowner agreed that that situation did not involve our car." At this time, no charges will be filed against Mr. Benjamin for leaving the scene of property damage.

On 9/7/21, Brooke Movitz DOB 5/6/99 came to NPD Headquarters to report a hit & run of MA reg 646NM7. Movitz states she was parked in the Newton Centre Lot in a row of parking stalls near Walgreens on the Langley Rd side. Around 1315 hrs, Movitz noticed damage to the left rear side of her vehicle. She stated that the vehicle parked next to her, MA reg 298MS7, had damage to the front left side and was parked at an angle that may suggest an improper turn into the parking spot (see diagram). Movitz was able to show me two pictures of minor damage to both vehicles, however I am not able to confirm that the damage is related to each other via the photographs. A white male with spiky hair in his 40's drove off in the vehicle, according to Movitz, but there was no interaction between the two. I was able to make contact with the owner of the vehicle in question, who told me that his son Daniel Suleski III DOB 4/10/92 was operating his car today. Suleski was able to be reached by phone and was adament that he did not hit another vehicle. Suleski did state he was parked in the Newton Centre Lot around the time in question. Officer Marini checked the area for any cameras that may record the area with negative results. Based on the totality of the facts presented, I am unable to reach a definitive conclusion at this time. Movitz was advised to contact her insurance company for further assistance.

On 9/9/21, at 1614 hrs, Newton Police and Fire personnel responded to Lowell Ave. at Austin S. for a motor vehicle accident involving a City of Newton student transportation van. Upon arrival, all involved parties including students reported no injuries. Each student's guardian was contacted and responded to the scene to sign a patient refusal and take custody of their child. The operator of MV#1 stated he made a complete stop at the stop sign on Austin St. prior to crossing westbound over Lowell Ave. As MV#1 proceeded across the intersection he was struck on the passenger side by MV#2 (JCS transport van) which was traveling south on Lowell Ave. The operator of MV#2 stated he was traveling south on Lowell Ave. approaching the intersection of Austin St. when he observed MV#1 crossing westbound on Lowell Ave. The operator of MV#2 stated due to the rain and slick conditions he could not stop his vehicle in time prior to colliding into MV#1. No damage was observed to MV#2 (JCS transportation van) however MV#1 sustained damage to its passenger side front and rear door. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. Pictures of the damage were captured on the N492 camera and will be attached to this report. Both operators were given directions on how to obtain a copy of this report.

On 9/20/21, Nipa Goud DOB 4/19/77 came to NPD Headquarters to report a past hit & run of MA reg 5RR913 ( vehicle #1). Goud states she was shopping in Johnson String 1029 Chestnut St on 9/15 around 1300 hrs when a good samaritan came into the store. He stated that the above mentioned vehicle had been hit in the parking lot. The witness is Allyn McCourt (617) 875-3457. He provided Goud with a description of an older female driving MA reg 2EE316. It was reported that she made contact with the rear of vehicle #1 and immediately left the scene. I spoke to Mccourt on the phone, who informed me that the woman was a white female between 60-70 yrs old. She appeared to be making a 3-point turn in the lot, hit a bush, then the rear bumper of vehicle #1. I asked Mccourt if there was any indication that the woman knew she hit vehicle #1, to which he stated "it certainly seemed so, because she motioned for me to move out of her way after she hit it". The vehicle was described by Mccourt as a blue sedan. MA reg 2EE316 comes back active on a 2011 blue Toyota Camry to Sergey Klepikov out of 1156 Chestnut St in Newton. QED shows a Vera Klepikov residing at that same address with a DOB of 12/22/52. I have left a message with the number on file for the Klepikov residence for Vera to contact me. Damage to vehicle #1 appears to be minor-moderate scraping from the picture I was shown by Goud. To be further investigated.

The pedestrian and owner of Vehicle #2 stated he parked his vehicle on the right side of the road and exited the car. He stated he was walking towards the crosswalk and attempted to cross the street from the front of his vehicle. All he remembers is taking a few steps out into the road, being hit, and flying before hitting the ground. He was unaware where he was struck from. Vehicle #1 had moderate damage to the front and windshield and was towed by Tody's towing. Vehicle #2 was uninvolved in the crash and was parked at the time. The owner of Vehicle #2 and pedestrian struck was injured and transported by Medics to Brigham and Womens Hospital for injuries to his head, left arm, and left leg. Operator of Vehicle #1 stated he was uninjured and refused any medical treatment. It should be noted that the accident happened outside the crosswalk and the street lights above where the accident occurred were not working at the time of the crash making the roadway dark and visibility difficult. On Tuesday, March 02, 2022 at approximately 2126hrs, I, Officer Fay responded to the intersection of Chestnut St. and Larchmont Ave. for a report of a vehicle that had struck a sign. Prior to my arrival dispatch informed me that the vehicle that had struck the sign was a blue hatchback, but the reporting party was unable to see a license plate. Upon arrival, I noticed tire tracks of a vehicle that had hopped the curb and sidewalk that was travelling Northbound and a yellow pedestrian sign that had been struck. Upon closer inspection of the area I noticed a fire hydrant had been struck as well. The fire hydrant was broken off when hit by the vehicle and had broke through fence of the house at 750 Chestnut St. Pictures of the scene and the damaged property were taken and sent to the IT Bureau to be attached to this report. I spoke to the resident of 750 Chestnut St., Vladimir Valtchinov, in regards to his damaged fence. I also asked Valtchinov if he had heard or seen anything in regards to the incident. Valtchinov stated that he did not see anything, but did hear a loud bang outside his house. I informed Valtchinov that a report would be generated in regards to this incident. Upon canvassing the area in search of the vehicle. I was unable to locate the vehicle. I also spoke to the resident of 757 Chestnut St. who had cameras facing the street, which they stated the cameras did not capture the incident, but are only able to see a live feed.

Narrative:
The operator of Vehicle 1 states that Vehicle 1 was parked at the airpump in the parking lot behind the Speedway gas station at 2370 Commonwealth Ave when Vehicle 2 backed out of a parking space and made contact with the driver-side rear passenger door of Vehicle 1. The operator of Vehicle 1 tried to make contact with the operator of Vehicle 2 and heard her passenger say something along the lines of "go, go! Get out of here!" Vehicle 2 then drove away. The operator of Vehicle 1 was able to take a picture of Vehicle 2 before it left the area. I observed minor scrapes to the driver side rear quarter panel of Vehicle 1. I contacted the operator of Vehicle 2 by phone who states she was attempting to back out of her parking space but was blocked in by Vehicle 1 and asked the operator of Vehicle 1 to move his car so she could get out. The operator of Vehicle 2 states that the operator of Vehicle 1 told her to try and get out anyway and started putting air in his tires. The operator of Vehicle 2 states that she attempted to back out carefully and didn't feel her vehicle make contact with his vehicle so she left the parking lot. Due to the conflicting statements of the operators I was unable to determine who was at fault.

Narrative:
On Sunday, May 22nd 2022, at approximately 17:41, I, Sgt. Roche, was dispatched to a two car MVA, involving Newton cruiser 504. Upon arrival, I spoke with the operator of vehicle 1, who stated that he was driving northbound on Walnut St, when vehicle 2 suddenly slammed on the brakes. He tried to slam on the brakes, and turn out of the way. He ended up striking the back of vehicle 2. He exited the vehicle apologized for bumping her, and asked if she was injured. The operator of vehicle 2 stated that a group of geese were crossing the street, and she had to suddenly stop to avoid hitting them. She stated that we needed to understand that the geese cross the street in this area, and that turkeys cross the street in a certain area of Beacon St. She wanted us to be more careful in these particular areas, and that we should know that these are the specific areas that these animals cross. I advised her that the Officers in the City of Newton are always very careful while driving, and that today was an accident that occurred. I asked her to supply her license, and registration. She said she was not comfortable doing that, and that she did not trust police, and that "it was not going to go in her favor." I advised her that I am on scene to take statements and facts from both parties, and that all of it would be included in the report. At this point she handed me the license and registration. Vehicle 2 had a small dent to the center rear bumper. Vehicle 1 had minor damage to the front push bar. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene. No injuries occurred due to the accident. Pictures were taken, and submitted to the IT Bureau.

Narrative:
Newton Police, Fire and Medics were dispatched to Commonwealth. Ave. and Dartmouth St. for Motor Vehicle Collision. Dispatch was advising a vehicle had collided into a poll. Upon arrival, Ofc. observed a Eversource street light poll laying on the grass carriage lane (westbound side). MV#1 was observed facing westbound in the eastbound lane of Commonwealth. Ave with front and side airbags deployed. The operator of MV#1 reported she was traveling westbound on Commonwealth Ave. prior to colliding into the light pole, but states she does not remember the moments prior to the collision. The operator of MV#1 reported she was uninjured, but was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital as a precaution. Newton Fire personnel determined the damaged light poll was not a hazard while Eversource was notified regarding their damaged poll. A witness to the collision reported they observed MV#1 traveling westbound on Commonwealth Ave. at approximately 20-25 mph, before it veered off the roadway and into the light poll. After colliding into the light poll MV#1 crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and hit the curb on the eastbound side of Commonwealth Ave. Pictures of MV#1 and the Eversource light poll were taken on the N493 camera and submitted to the NPD IT bureau. A Request for an Immediate Threat License Suspension/Revocation was faxed over to the Massachusetts RMV on behalf of the Operator of MV#1 due to the circumstances of this collision.

Narrative:
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, while assigned to West Newton Square, I met a party in the lobby of Newton PD HQ reporting a past mva/pedestrian crash. Ms. Teresa Brown stated approximately an hour before speaking with me (12:30 p.m.), she was running on Webster Street (E) when she approached the Elm Street intersection. Ms. Brown stated she observed a black pick up truck to her right across the street and made a motion to him as she approached the intersection that she was going to continue running straight across Webster Street. Ms. Brown stated as she entered the marked crosswalk while running across the intersection, the pick up truck continued through the intersection and struck her. Ms. Brown stated she fell to the roadway and suffered a minor injury to her right arm. Ms. Brown stated the operator stopped to check on her, and she took a picture of his license. Ms. Brown stated she then continued running from the crash scene and ran to her daughter's house in Waltham. Ms. Brown stated the reason she did not contact the Newton Polcie Department when the crash occured was because she was in shock. Ms. Brown stated she was told after she got to her daughter's house it would be a good idea to report it now. Ms. Brown provided me with license information for the driver. Ms. Brown stated the only real injury she suffered was a cut on her right elbow. Ms. Brown was advised if she is involved in a future crash with injury to contact the police department of the town the crash occurs in so we can assist in rendering aide, and investigate the crash on scene. I contacted the operator of the vehicle involved, Mr. Mingzong Zou. Mr. Zou stated he was operating his 2015 Ford F-150 (MA CON: S24067) on Elm Street (N). Mr. Zou stated he came to a stop at the Webster Street stop sign. Mr. Zou stated he proceeded through the intersection after he stopped and saw Ms. Brown in the roadway in front of him. Mr. Zou stated the front of his vehicle crashed into Ms. Brown. Mr. Zou stated Ms. Brown told him she was "ok" after the crash and he offered her his information. Mr. Zou stated Ms. Brown took a picture of his license and ran away from the area. Due to the crash being reported some time after it occurred and not being present on scene to witness the scene, I am unable to cite the operator of MV1. Elm Street and Webster Street are both public ways maintained by the City of Newton.

Narrative:
Mv#1 operator stated he was travelling on Elliot St E/B (right of way) passing the exit driveway of Negoshian's service station, 14 Elliot St. #1 stated at that time, a black Lexus SUV bearing MA reg H2158 (Mv#2) nosed out from the driveway and made contact with his passenger side rear quarter panel behind the wheel. #1 stated he pulled over on Elliot St however #2 did not stop and left the area. #1 described the operator as a W/M with dark beard and a female passenger. I observed #1 passenger side rear quarter panel which appeared to show fresh light colored scuff marks and light paint transfer. I queried the reported plate number of #2 which came back registered to Beverly Newman 16 Pickwick Rd W. Newton on a black Lexus SUV. Ofc Chieu responded to this address and located #2 there. The male operator was raised who identified himself as Peter Feig of the same address. The owner Ms Newman was the front seat passenger. I was able to observe a photo of the left front end of #2 and observed a light scuff mark where the grill meets the fender. I spoke to Mr Feig who stated he was unaware there was a collision at all. It appears the silver colored front grill of #2 made contact with #1. He stated he did remember #1 drive by at a high rate of speed. Feig was advised a report would be on file. #1 owner Mr Todd Miller was advised of my findings, satisfied and will contact his insurance company if needed.
