MV1, Mr. Marchand was driving Southbound on Highland St when a vehicle stopped abruptly in front of him to allow a vehicle to enter the travel lane exiting out of Ascenta Terrace. When the vehicle stopped abruptly in front of him, MV1 slammed on the brakes and did not hit the car in front of him, however he was rear-ended by a vehicle behind him, MV2. MV2, Mr. Calderon, was traveling Southbound on Highland St behind MV1 when he observed MV1 brake. He then immediately stepped on his brake and was not able to maneuver the vehicle in order to avoid the collision due to icey, slippery conditions on the road. MV2 sustained heavy front end damage. MV1 sustained minor damage to the rear he vehicle. No injuries were reported on scene. MV2 had to be towed by Tody's as it was disabled.

On February 9th, 2021 at approximately 13:23 hours while working N491 I responded to the intersection of Bridge St @ Chandler St for a reported MV crash . On my arrival I identified operator #1 as Angelica Beker, operating a Black Volvo SUV. She reported going S/B on Bridge St when vehicle #2 came out into the intersection from Chandler St crashing into her vehicle. Operator #2 identified as Carly Lazarus was operating a grey 2015 Honda civic. She reported being on Chandler St E/B and as she approached the intersection of Bridge St she attempted to stop but due to the snowy surface slid out into the intersection striking vehicle #1. Neither vehicle needed to be towed.

On Monday, May 31, 2021 at approximately 00:40hrs I, Officer Daly, along with Officer Kayla Donahue responded to a motor vehicle accident. We found the vehicles on Washington Street by Park Street. Upon arrival I observed both of the involved motor vehicles pulled off to the side of Washington Street by Park Street. I spoke with the operator of MV1 who said he was stopped at the red light when he was hit from behind by MV2. I spoke with the operator of MV2 who said she was traveling Eastbound on Washington Street traveling approximately 20mph. Operator of MV2 said she began pressing down on her breaks due to the red light but said her car continued to slide and would not stop. Operator of MV2 said it was at this point her car collided with MV1. It should be noted it was raining throughout the day and it drizzling at the time of the accident causing the roadways to be wet and slippery. Both MV1 and MV2 were towed away from the scene by Tody's. Both of the operators retrieved their valuables from their vehicles prior to the vehicles being towed away. Both of the operators did not sustain any injuries. The passenger of MV1 began feeling ill while on scene and was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital by Fallon Medics.

DRIVER #2 STATES VEHICLE #1 SPED UP AS SHE WAS TURNING AND SWERVED LEFT AVOIDING HITTING HER AND WENT ACROSS THE E-BOUND LANE EVENTUALLY STOPPING WHEN HE CRASHED INTO THE UTILITY POLE IN FRONT OF 1049 WASHINGTON ST. VEHICLE #1 HAD EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE AND FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. VEHICLE #2 HAD NO DAMAGE AND WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. BOTH PARTIES REPORTED NO INJURIES. DRIVER #1 WAS EVALUATED BY MEDICS AND SIGNED A PATIENT REFUSAL. VEHICLE #1 WAS TOWED BY TODYS. ALL PARTIES ADVISED TO CONTACT THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. THE UTILITY POLE AT 1049 WASHINGTON ST WAS CUT IN HALF AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. THE BOTTOM HALF WAS ON THE GROUND. THE TOP HALF WAS AIRBORNE AND HELD UP BY THE ATTACHED WIRES.EVERSOURCE ARRIVED ON SCENE TO FIX THE POLE. DRIVER OF VEHICLE #1 STATED HE DID NOT HAVE A LICENSE AND OFFERED ME A BRAZILIAN PASSPORT. I CITED THE DRIVER ( CITATION NUMBER# T2080809 ) FOR 90/10 UNLICENSED OPERATOR. DRIVER GIVEN CITATION IN HAND. I FILED FOR A CRIMINAL APPLICATION FOR THE OFFENSE. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MV1 operator states she was stopped at the traffic light on Commonwealth Avenue when MV2 was on Centre Street turning right eastbound slid from the ice roadway into the front end of MV1. MV1 operator had no injuries and the vehicle sustained mild damage to the front of the vehicle. I spoke to Operator 2 on the phone. MV2 operator states he was turning right onto Commonwealth Avenue when his vehicle lost control because of the slick roadway. MV2 operator stated he was at fault. MV2 had very little damage to the front of the vehicle due to it being a larger vehicle. MV2 operator had no injuries. No tow was needed for either vehicles. Operator 2 shared information with operater 1, he left prior to our arrival.

I responded to the area of Beacon St.@Washington St. for a two car MVA. I arrived in the area and observed the two vehicles stopped on the eastbound side of Washington St. V1; MA Reg. 6XY435, 2014 Honda/CRV color white, V1 operator Sylvia Chin MA OLN S83835816. V1 passenger Ashley Chin was seated in the rear passenger seat. There was also a medium size dog in the rear passenger compartment. V2; MA Reg. 666RX3, 2015 Honda/SUV color white, V2 operator Shaina Butler MA OLN S38029127. passengers were two minor children (operator's daughters), AKaile Platt 9 y.o. and Anaii Platt 6 y.o. The V1 passenger was evaluated by EMS for a possible back injury. She was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital by ambulance. V1 operator was concerned about her dog possibly having an injury. The dog appeared to be uninjured. She was advised to have the dog checked by a Vet when possible. Neither MV had airbag deployment. V1 was on Beacon St stopped at the traffic light. V2 attempted to come to a stop behind V1. V2 skidded on the snow covered road (Beacon St.) attempting to stop and collided into the rear of V1. The two vehicles had moderate damage. Neither vehicle required towing service.

On Friday April 8, 2022 at approximately 1558 hours I was dispatched to Boylston St Eastbound at Rockland Place for a reported MVA involving a Newton Medic's Ambulance. MV1 operator stated he and AMB1 were on Boylston St Eastbound (a public way) next to highway marker 127.0. MV1 operator stated he was in the right lane and AMB1 was in the left lane. MV1 operator said AMB1 was next to him when AMB1 began to merge into his lane. MV1 operator said it was at this time that the rear passenger tire of AMB1 struck MV1's driver side bumper. MV1 operator said he was not injured at this time. MV1 sustained minor driver side bumper damage. AMB1 operator stated he was on Boylston St Eastbound in the left lane. AMB1 operator said in front of him was unknown debris that he was trying to avoid so the ambulance would not be damaged. AMB1 operator said before attempting to merge into the right lane he checked all his mirrors and could not see any other MV. AMB1 stated MV1 must have been in his blind spot and close to AMB1. AMB1 operator said after he checked his mirrors he attempted to merge into the right lane but struck MV1. AMB1 operator stated he was not injured at this time. AMB1 sustained minor damage to the rear passenger tire wheel well. No tows were required. MV1 and AMB1 operators signed refusals. Both were given copies of the accident report number and advised. Photos were taken and forwarded to the I.T. Bureau to be added to this incident.
