On Wednesday, October 7th 2020 while in N526 I responded to 791 Walnut Street the Newton Cemetery Corp for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. At the time of the accident the weather was sunny and the road surface was dry. The accident occurred inside the cemetery on the public way by the entrance. Upon arrival I spoke with the pedestrian identified as Tova Goldring. Tova stated she was walking in the roadway when she was struck by MV1. Tova stated MV1 was turning left onto the road that leads to the exit and when she realized the operator was not stopping she put out both her hands and made contact with the hood of MV1. Tova stated the impact caused her to fall to the ground and roll into a grassy area next to the road. Tova had minor scrapes from the accident and signed a patient refusal. The operator of MV1 identified as Antonio Domenico Ricci was on scene and his primary language was Italian. I was able to contact his daughter, Daniela Boccia who arrived on scene and translated Antonio's statements. Antonio stated he was turning left onto the main road that leads to the exit of the cemetery and had his left signal activated. Antonio states the sun was glaring into his eyes and made it hard for him to see. Antonio stated he took the left turn and never saw the pedestrian. Antonio states he heard a thud on his hood and stopped the vehicle and that is when he realized he had struck a pedestrian. Antonio was not injured and there was no damage to his vehicle. Pictures of the scene and Tova's injuries were taken by Officer Wilson and submitted to the IT Bureau. Daniela took possession of MV1 and drove Antonio to his residence.

On Wednesday, December 02, 2020, while assigned to Traffic unit N525, I was traveling Westbound through the rear parking lot of 1321 Washington Street at approximately 0905 hours. As I was traveling through the lot, I observed Parking Control unit 1308 backing (S) out of a parking spot ahead of me to my right. Parking Control unit 1308 is a City of Newton owned vehicle (MA MVN: MP1308). I stopped my vehicle in the roadway to allow 1308 to continue backing out of their parking spot. As 1308 continued to backing, the rear driver side bumper area of the vehicle crashed into the front passenger side bumper/fender area of Parking Control unit 1309 (MA MVN: MP5E). Parking Control unit 1309 was parked (W) in the roadway unoccupied. I observed no damage to either vehicle. The operator of Parking Control unit 1308 exited her vehicle and was identified as Parking Control Officer Angela Foley. PCO Foley stated she was backing her vehicle out of its parking spot and did not see 1309 parked behind her. PCO Foley stated the vehicle was in her blind spot. PCO Foley was asked if she was injured as a result of the crash. PCO Foley stated she was not. Photos were taken of both vehicles to document the crash and submitted to the IT Bureau.

On 12/05/2020 at approximately 22:00 hours I was called in to respond to a single vehicle crash with serious injuries in the area of 291 Nahanton St. Nahanton St is a pubic way in the City of Newton. Upon my arrival at the crash scene with Sgt Devine I was briefed by Officers Daly and Anderson, ( see Ofc Daly's report for further information CAD # 20054728 in regard to changes take out against the operator of the truck ) I made the following observations of the crash scene, Nahanton St is a public way in the City of Newton that is a two way roadway divided by an unprotected merdium ( double yellow line ) that runs east to west. The roadway surface was wet due snow and ice. The roadway was plowed and the snow was pushed to the shoulder, althought wet the roadway was icy. There was approximately 2 inches of snow on the shoulders of the roadway. The road was light with overhead head street lights. The posted speed limit is 25 MPH. I observed a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck that had major front end damage. The Chevrolet was at an angle with it's front end facing west bound and resting on the grass shoulder and into a wooded area. The Chevrolet rear was sticking out into the shoulder of the east bound lane of Nahanton St. The passenger side front and rear doors of the Chevrolet had been removed by the fire department to extricate the driver and passenger. The driver and passenger side air bags were deployed . The front passenger side windshield of the Chevrolet was completely missing and the driver's side had completely shattered. The front tires, hood, and engine had been compacted on it's self. The front and rear driver's side doors had been mechanically open by the fire department. The speedometer needle had stopped at 54 MPH. The Chevrolet left the roadway and left tire marks in the snow in the eastbound bike lane of Nahanton St. At a 106.4 feet from the beginning of the tire marks the first point of impact was with two tree stumps that were 3.5 feet from the roadway, four feet tall and 3.5 feet in diameter. The tire marks continue in the east bound bike lane and exit the roadway and onto a dirt shoulder at 136.1 feet from the beginning of the tire marks. The truck continued to the right of a utility pole and then it's passenger side made contact with a tree at 170.8 feet from the begin of the tire marks. The tree was 12 feet from the bike lane approximately 5 feet in diameter. The impact with the tree caused the truck to turn so that the rear was facing north east on the dirt shoulder and bike lane. The final point of rest of the rear passenger side tire was 200 feet from the beginning of the tire marks. The truck's rear diver side tire final point of rest was 209 feet from the beginning of the tire marks. The front driver's side tire was compacted into the trucks engine and the passenger side front tire was located behind the tree approximately 20 feet from the roadway. Sgt Devine took photos of the crash area and of the truck and the disk was download by the NPD's IT Bureau. The truck was towed from the crash scene by Todys's Towing to their lot for storage, I fill out a towed motor vehicle form. There were no reported witness who observed the crash. The crash was reported by an unknown passerby. On 12/07/2020 Ofc Gaudet faxed a request for preservation of medical records, blood and urine samples of Schneider to Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center.

On December 12, 2020 at approx. 1121 hours I responded to the area of 200 Boylston Street "WEGMANS" Parking garage second floor for a report of a two motor vehicle crash with one party who is 7 months pregnant having back pain. Upon arrival oper 1 stated she was exiting the parking garage turning right, observed v2 and stopped. She stated v2 had contact with her vehicle. Oper 2 stated she was turning left to go into the parking garage and observed v1 exiting the garage. She stated that while they were both traveling in opposite directions the turn was tight and they both had contact. Oper of v1 was evaluated by Medics and signed a patient refusal. Oper 2 reported no injuries at this time. Both parties advised of the process.

Operator of MV1 stated he was parked at 3 Border St. when MV2 struck his vehicle from the rear. Operator of MV1 stated he was inside the vehicle when the accident occurred and could observe a white female with blonde hair leaving the scene without stopping. Operator of MV2 denied the accident and stated she has been home for the last few hours. Pending further investigation, damage on MV2 was consistent with angle of the accident and to the damage on MV 1 . A witness also observed the Operator of MV2 inside the Corner Mini Mart shortly before the accident occurred. Citation #T2014800 was mailed to 21 Harvey Pl. for Ch. 90 Sec. 24(2) (Leaving the Scene of an accident, Property Damage) Please see police report #20055706 in regards to this accident. No injuries. No vehicles towed.

Vehicle #1 was parked in a legal parking spot when Vehicle #2 was attempting to back out of the spot to the right of Vehicle #1. Vehicle #2 clipped the right side of Vehicle #1 with the left side of Vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 had minor damage to the rear fender and a scrape on the right side by the rear tire well. Vehicle #2 has unknown damage. Vehicle #2 left the scene without exchanging any info. Vehicle #1 was unoccupied at the time of the accident. All Vehicle information of Vehicle #2 was given to police by a witness. Witness information has been entered into the crash report.

Vehicle 1 was travelling eastbound on Dedham St, and took a right turn onto Wiswall Rd, While attempting to make the turn the vehicle slid on the snow, and the back left of the vehicle hit the curb. The air bags were deployed on the left side. I observed minor damage to the back left of the vehicle. No one was injured. The vehicle was towed by Tody's to their lot.

Vehicle 1 was stopped at the stop sign on Meadowbrook Rd, travelling southbound. Vehicle 2 was making a right turn onto Meadowbrook Rd from Hartman Rd. Vehicle 2 struck vehicle 1 on the drivers side, causing moderate damage. Vehicle 2 had minor damage to the front left bumper. No one was injured due to the accident. Tody's towed vehicle 1 to their lot.

Based on observations and statements made, the following occurred. M/V#1 was travelling west on Commonwealth Ave. and attempted to turn left onto Old Colony Rd. Due to the icy conditions of the road, and speed too fast for conditions, M/V#1 only angled slightly to the left, and slid into a snowbank, and the curb on Commonwealth Ave. knocking down a city light pole. The vehicle was towed by Tody's.

Mv#2 operator stated he was travelling on Walnut St S/B and braked for Mv#1 that was slowing ahead of him preparing to turn left on Hyde St. Mv#2 stated his truck slid over a snow patch which caused him to rear end Mv#1. The plow from Mv#2 struck the rear end of #1. Operator of Mv#2 was not injured. Mv#1 operator stated she was slowing on Walnut St S/B preparing to turn left when she was rear ended by Mv #2. Operator was not injured. Operator stated she does not have a license due to license paperwork issues. Operator produced a MA license which when queried expired on 5/7/18. Mv#1 rear seat juvenile passenger was picked up by his father on scene. Father refused evaluation for his son. A MA licensed operator arrived on scene to drive #1 from the scene. #1 operator was issued citation #T2080651 in hand for 90/10 unlicensed operation. Walnut St is a public way.

On Friday, December 18th 2020, at approximately 4:52pm, I, Officer Brooks, responded to a 2 car MVA that happened at the intersection of Watertown street and Hawthorne street. Upon my arrival I spoke with the operator of MV1(MA REG 5CK522) who stated she was traveling westbound on Watertown street, when she was struck on her driver's side door by MV2(MA REG268WC6), which had been attempting to merge onto Watertown street from Hawthorne street. MV1 sustained damage to the driver's side door. I spoke with the operator of MV2 who stated she was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Hawthorne street and Watertown street, and believed she had looked both ways before turning left and heading westbound on Watertown street. The operator stated she never saw MV1 before she struck it. MV2 had damage to the passenger side front end and headlight assembly. Both operators were provided a crash report number and sent on their way.

Marcela Sahinidis was operating Ma Reg 668WG8 N/B on Christina St. Marcela states that a vehicle was coming at her in the opposite direction. Marcela states that the car started to cross the yellow line and she swerved to the right to avoid the vehicle. As a result, Marcela struck the telephone pole (1099/11). Vehicle towed no injuries.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, while assigned to Traffic unit N525, I responded to 8 Cragmore Road, Newton for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a City of Newton Fire apparatus. Cragmore Road is a public way maintained by the City of Newton. The weather at the time of the crash was cloudy. The road surface was wet from melting snow in the area. The operator of MV1, Jon Papia, stated he was operating City of Newton Fire Engine 7 (MA MVN: MF470 ) Southbound on Cragmore Road. As MV1 travelled past 8 Cragmore Road, it's passenger side made contact with the front driver side area of MV2 (MA: 1JTC19). The Honda Accord was parked and unoccupied at the time of the crash. The registered owner was made aware of the crash and advised. I observed no damage to the passenger side of MV1. I observed damage to the front driver side of MV2. Photos were taken and submitted to the IT Bureau. No injuries were reported by any of the involved parties.

Operator of MV1 stated while traveling south on Faxon Street and approaching his residence, 13 Faxon Street, he struck MV2 while pulling into his driveway. MV2 was unoccupied at the time of the accident. MV1 had minor scratch on the rear bumper. MV2 had minor damage to the front driver side bumper along with the front bumper. The license plate mount was also damaged on MV2. Operator of MV1 was not injured.

Operator of MV1 states she was traveling southbound on Needham Street in congested traffic when MV2 struck MV1 in the rear bumper. MV1 sustained very minor damage to the rear bumper. Operator of MV2 states she was traveling southbound on Needham Street in congested traffic when MV3 struck MV2 in the rear bumper causing MV2 to collide with MV1. MV2 sustained damage to the front and rear bumper. Operator of MV3 states she was traveling southbound on Needham Street in congested traffic when she experienced mechanical failure with her brakes causing MV3 to collide with MV2, which also caused MV2 to collide with MV1. MV3 sustained damage to the front of the vehicle, which disabled the transmission. MV3 was towed by Tody's towing and a towed motor vehicle inventory form was completed. No injuries reported by all three operators.

On December 21, 2020 at approximately 17:43 hours I responded to a two vehicle crash with air bag deployment on Chestnut St. @ Boylston St. Upon arrival all occupents were out of the vehicles and reported no injuries. Operator of MV1 was traveling Northbound on Chestnut St when the operator of MV2 attempted to cross Chestnut St from Boylston St and MV1 struck the passanger side of MV2. The operator of MV2 claimed that he stopped at the stop sign and thought that the roadway was clear to pass but was struck by MV1. MV1 did not have a stop sign at the location of the crash and therefore had the right away. MV1 was towed from the scene by Tody's, MV2 conacted a private tow from the scene.

Mv 1 stated she was stopped at the stop sign on Ashton Ave. MV 1 was heading southbound and proceeded onto Homer St. to follow through to Pleasant St. Mv1 thought she had enough distance from Mv 2. Mv 1 then got hit on her driver side door by Mv 2. Mv 2 stated she was driving westbound on Homer St. when Mv 1 pulled out too fast from Ashton ave and caused the accident. No injuries were reported. No tows were needed.

Mv1 stated he was traveling westbound on Washington St when M2 was pulling out of Hunnewell ave. Mv1 stated he did not have enough time to stop and hit Mv2. Mv2 fled the scene. Mv1 did not obtain any information of Mv2 other than it was an orange car.

Operator of Motor Vehicle #1 stated that she was traveling Westbound on Washington Street and as she was slowing down for the red light was struck from behind by motor vehicle #2. Motor vehicle #1 sustained moderate rear end damage. Operator of Motor Vehicle #2 stated that he was traveling Westbound on Washington Street and due to the glare of the sun struck motor vehicle #1 from behind. Motor vehicle #2 sustained moderate front end damage. There were no injuries due to this accident and neither vehicle was towed.

Operator of MV1 stated she was traveling southbound on Parker Street when she began to get drowsy and she believes she turned the steering wheel to the right, which caused her to strike a tree and roll over onto the snow bank. MV1 was upright on its side when a passerby assisted the operator in getting out through the passenger side door. Operator of MV1 sustained no visible injuries and was evaluated by Cataldo and transported to NWH. Bobby Donahue of Tody's Towing towed the vehicle which had damage moderate damage.

On Tuesday 12/22/2020, at approximately 1730 hours, I, Ofc Donald Murphy, met a party at the front desk in regards to a hit and run incident. I spoke with Andrew Shvetts, who stated his wife Tetianna Shvets's vehicle was struck today in the parking lot of Baza grocery market from 10 am-11 am. The owner of MV 1, Tetianna Shvets was shopping at Baza grocery market while her vehicle, MV 1, was parked in the parking lot. When Tetianna returned to her vehicle there was a note on her windshield stating MV 2 struck her vehicle "possibly" on the right rear side and left the scene. The plate of the vehicle was left on the note as well. There was no contact information of the witness left on the note or any manner of collision. There was minimal damage (a few scratches) on MV 1. Andrew provided photos of the damage to the vehicle and the note left on the windshield.The photos of the damage and note are attached to this report. The plate came back to 79 Wheeler Rd in Newton. I went to the address to follow up with the operator of MV 2. I spoke with the owner and operator of MV 2, Mrs. Lyuba Regelman. Lyuba admitted to shopping at Baza grocery market today. Lyuba denied hitting MV1 and there was no damage to her vehicle I could see that matched the damage from the incident. I will not be seeking charges on Lyuba for leaving the scene because there is no contact information of the witness and there is no matching damage to MV 2.

On 12/24/20, while assigned to N493, I, Officer Conary, responded to the area of Westwood Street for a report of a hit and run that just occurred. I was already in the area and did not observe any vehicle driving fast. Upon arrival, I met with Owner of MV1 who stated he was inside at 21 Westwood Street when he heard crash. He looked outside and saw a white sedan, possibly a BMW, quickly traveling Northbound on Westwood Street. MV1 was parked right outside.There was damage to the rear of MV1. I saw surveillance video from 21 Westwood Street, which showed a white sedan reversing down the street quickly and hitting MV1 then continue to drive away. MV1 did not require a tow. There was no reports of injuries. Following is an update by Officer M. Boudreau: At 12:07 On 12/25/20 I was dispatched to 95 Pearl Street because the vehicle involved in the crash had been found. MA Reg#1VYW99 a white BMW M3 was parked on Pearl Street and had damage to the rear of the car. Based on the video I was shown the damage is consistent with the accident and it was the same type of car. The family of owner #1 asked around the neighborhood and learned that Qiushi Wang had been driving the vehicle. I spoke to the owner of vehicle #2 who eventually admitted that his son had been driving vehicle on Learners Permit. The father Ningshan Wang stated that he was also in the vehicle as a Licensed Operator. Qiushi Wang stated he thought he hit a snow bank, then stated maybe he wasn't driving at the time, he eventually admitted to hitting the parked car. Qiushi also was shown video and admitted it was his car in the video. Asked video be sent to my email or brought into NPD Both father and son will be issued citations for leaving the scene of property damage. Operator of MV1 states she was pulling out of a parking space in front of 23 Lincoln Street traveling westbound when MV2 struck MV1 causing damage to the front left corner panel. MV1 sustained front end damage and was towed from the scene. Operator of MV2 states he was traveling westbound on Lincoln Street when he didn't see MV1 pulling out of the parking space and struck MV1 with MV2's front right corner panel. MV2 sustained front end damage and was towed from the scene. Towed motor vehicle inventory forms were completed and submitted. No injuries reported.

On 12/28/2020 at approx 1159hrs while assigned to 497 I responded to the area of Tamworth Rd for a report of a tractor trailer pulling down wires and utility poles. Upon arrival I observed the intersection of Radcliff Rd and Tamworth Rd blocked by a tractor trailer truck with multiple downed wires and broken telephone poles. I spoke with the operator of the tractor trailer, Lawrence TOGBA who stated he was following the detour off of Chestnut st to Quinobequinn Rd as he has repeatedly in the last several weeks when, this time , likely due to recent storms, the wires were hanging lower getting caught in his truck pulling and causing telephone polls 702/6 and pole 7 on Tamworth Rd to snap and telephone pole 1 on Radcliff Rd to snap. NFD, Eversource and Verizon responded and were able to free the truck from the wires and begin repairs to infrastructure. 526 Traffic Officer Wilson responded and took photos

The operator of vehicle 1 was travelling westbound on Cornell St. Vehicle 1 travelled through the intersection of Cornell and Grove St, and struck the stop sign on the opposite side of Cornell St. The stop sign was completely knocked over. Vehicle 1 was registered to 6 Colgate Cir. I observed vehicle 1 parked in the driveway at 6 Colgate Cir, there was minor damage to the front license plate. No one was injured. Photos were taken of the stop sign, and submitted to the IT bureau.

The operator of MV1(RI GW647) stated he had been involved in an accident in the area of 2370 Commonwealth avenue sometime around 6pm.According to the operator he was struck by a "boxy Jeep' which caused heavy damage to the front end of his vehicle, and caused the hood to unlatch and crack the windshield. MV1 was inoperable as a result. The operator was unable to provide any further identifying information on the other vehicle. The operator requested a private tow, and was uninjured. He was provided this report number.

MV1 stated she was attempting to manuever around vehicles to exit the street when "I stepped on the gas and not the brake" while in reverse subsequently going backwards, over a curb, across the lawn, and into the bushes of 17 St James Ter sustaining heavy damage throughout the vehicle. The homeowner of the residence reported damage to his curb, lawn, bushes and electrical conduit (Newton Fire checked the residence prior to clearing). Todys Towing responded and removed the vehicle from the lawn and leaving it on the street as the owner wanted AAA to respond. Due to airbag deployment, Fallon Ambulance responded to the scene, however the driver refused to be evaluated (also refused to sign a refusal).
