Narrative:
On Wednesday, February 13, 2019 while assigned to Traffic unit N525, I responded to the 280 Newtonville Avenue, Newton for a report of a past hit and run accident. I met with Madeleine Aubourg (S67566148) who stated she is a Nursing Assistant at Cabot Park Village. Aubourg stated due to the snowfall the area had the previous day, Aubourg left her vehicle parked (S) in the rear parking lot overnight. Aubourg stated this morning when she returned to work she observed damage to the front bumper area of her 2018 Toyota Camry (MA: 6AN179). Aubourg stated she believes sometime overnight when the parking lot was being plowed a plow truck hit the front of her vehicle. I observed moderate damage to the front bumper area. I spoke with Adolfo Merida-Diaz (S44133458) on scene who stated he is employed by Marquense Landscaping and is responsible for the snow removal at 280 Newtonville Avenue. Merida-Diaz stated last evening and this morning he removed snow from the parking lot and did not make contact with any vehicles in the parking lot during his duties. I showed Merida-Diaz where the alleged accident occurred. Merida-Diaz stated he does not remember a car being parked in that particular spot, but if there was a car parked there he leaves enough room so he is not near any vehicles. I did not observe any surveillance cameras in this portion of the parking lot. There are no witnesses to the alleged accident. Aubourg was advised to speak with her insurance company.

Narrative:
On 03/20/19 at 09:43 hours, I responded to the Avalon Apartments at Newton Highlands located at 99 Needham Street for a past hit and run that occurred at the east end garage exit on 03/19/19 at 14:10 hours. I spoke to Senior Community Manager Karen Schueler who showed me video surveillance footage from yesterday's accident. In the video, you can see a blue Subaru Forester attempting to exit the east end of the garage to the property. The operator of the Subaru is identified by Ms. Schueler as a resident of the building as Gertrude Weinstein. After Weinstein scans her garage pass to exit, she then over steers towards the right and strikes the overhead garage door opening device. She then continues to exit the garage scraping the entire passenger side of her car along the device that is attached to the wall. I viewed the garage door and there was significant damage as it became detached from the wall. The door had to be placed out of service. After I spoke to Ms. Weinstein who admitted to striking the side of the garage door but only thought there was damage to her vehicle. No citation issued as the underground garage to the building is private property and not a public way.

Narrative:
The operator of MV#1 states that she was traveling north on Melrose St from Auburn St when she encountered a large flat bed truck blocking the roadway in front of #283 Melrose St, which is currently under construction. The operator of MV#1 states she then spoke with an individual whom she believes to be Steven Vona of Vona Construction who is currently developing the site at #283 Melrose St. According to operator #1, Mr. Vona told her she needed to turn around immediately, which she attempted to do when the front of her MV struck a raised sidewalk causing damage to the front of her MV. Operator #1 was very concerned that there was no signage or personnel from Vona Construction directing motorist where to go and feels he is responsible for the damage to her MV as he was the one informing her she needed to leave the "construction zone" immediately. She further states that no one assisted her in turning around, her view was obstructed because her MV is so low to the ground and that a construction truck was blocking the nearest driveway, making it even more difficult to maneuver. As I entered Melrose St from Comm Ave when I arrived I observed no signage and MV's were having to turn around. I informed Steven Vona that if he was going to temporarily block the street to unload equipment he needed to either use cones, signs or workers to assist drivers. In regards to the crash, Mr. Vona stated that as operator #1 attempted to turn her MV around the front of her MV struck the sidewalk. Vehicle 1 was parked in a parking space perpendicular to vehicle 2, in front of Splash. The operator of vehicle 1 went inside of Starbucks from 1300-1445 hours. When she arrived back to her car she noticed damage to the drivers side of the vehicle. I observed there to be moderate damage to this side of the vehicle. It appeared that vehicle 2 backed into the drivers side of vehicle 1. The operator of vehicle 2 left from the scene and failed to provide their information. There are no witnesses or suspects at this time. There are surveillance cameras in front of Splash. I asked the employees in Splash if I could access the camera's, and they explained that they would have to wait until tomorrow to speak with the manager. No one was injured, and vehicle 1 did not need to be towed. On Monday, April 29th 2019, at approximately 1600 hours, I left a voicemail for the owner of Splash, Jamie Mcmanus, in regards to any possible surveillance footage. I requested that he call Newton Police headquarters and ask for me, when he gets the message.

On 07/29/19 at 11:13 hours, I responded to the Dunkin Donuts parking lot located at 138 Needham Street for a three car motor vehicle accident. Operator of MV1 stated at first she could not recall what occurred during the accident due to lightheadedness at the time. After, she then stated after pulling in to the Dunkin Donuts lot she was attempting to back in to a parking spot in the back of the lot. While backing up, she attempted to hit the brake pedal but must have pushed the gas pedal instead. The vehicle then struck parked/unoccupied MV2 and MV2 was then pushed in to parked/unoccupied MV3. The operator was checked out by Cataldo Ambulance and signed a patient refusal. MV1 sustained moderate driver's side rear bumper area damage but it was still driveable. MV2 sustained damage along both sides of the vehicle and a rear broken axle and it was towed by Tody's. MV3 sustained scrapes and dents to the entire driver's side but the vehicle was driveable.

On 08/06/19 at 12:34 hours, I responded to Industrial Place by The Lakeshore Learning Store at the request of Newton Police Officer Justin March who witnessed an accident in the parking lot of 300 Needham Street. Officer March was working a road construction detail at the time in the City of Newton. He states that at approximately 12:20 hours he observed MV1 exiting the parking lot of 300 Needham Street( a drive way to a building that the public has access to). There is an island in the middle that separates the entrance and exit of the lot as it goes out to Needham Street. As MV1 was exiting, he drove up on the island and pushed two large stone builders out of place. There was also damage to numerous different flowers planted in the ground. MV1 then exited the lot and went eastbound on Needham Street. Officer March then followed in his vehicle and kept beeping his horn to alert the driver to stop. The operator turned on to Industrial Place and pulled over. Ofc. March attempted to speak to the operator, Gelvin Perez-Ramirez but there was a language barrier. Next, Ofc. Calderon responded and assisted with Spanish translation. He asked the operator what occurred and he stated that he never saw the island. Due to the fact that the operator left the scene of the accident and never reported it, he was issued MA Uniform Citation # T1445351 for Ch. 90/24/C. MV1 sustained damage to the two exhaust pipes on the passenger side of the truck. There is also possible undercarriage damage. Ofc. M. Wade took photos of the scene.

Narrative:
On 9/08/19 Kevin Coston came into NPD Headquarters to report a MV/Ped with Injury that had occurred on 8/23/19 at about 06:15 in the parking lot of Whole Foods (916 Walnut Street). The RP stated that he had left work (Whole Foods) at the back receiving door and was walking to his car, he bent over to take his knee pads off, while he was doing this he was struck by a delivery van that backed into him. The driver took out his headphones and said sorry before driving away. RP stated that he told the driver that he had been hit but the driver just drove away. RP went to hospital (Faulkner) on his own for lower back pain and has not been to work since. RP was able to take picture of the side of the delivery van. The van belonged to Shortstop Distribution Inc (508-655-5948). RP left a message that morning. He was texted by Gedeon (786-352-6695) who stated there was a language barrier and he didn't understand what had happened. RP advised Gedeon to talk to his lawyer or the police. Exact location of accident unknown. Diagram is a estimate. Report printed out and placed in traffic box for follow up. Traffic Bureau Update (Officer Gaudet): On Monday, September 9, 2019 I attempted to make contact with the operator if MV1, Gedeon Duarte, with a negative result. A Hit and Run motor vehicle inquiry was mailed to Duarte. I spoke with the injured party, Kevin Coston, via telephone on September 9, 2019. Coston stated he is an employee at the Whole Foods located at 916 Walnut Street, Newton. Coston stated on August 23, 2019 a black van backed into him as he was kneeling on the ground taking off his knee pads in the loading area of the store. Coston stated he approached the driver who remained in the vehicle to speak with him after he was hit. Coston described the driver as a heavy set Spanish male. Coston stated the operator of the vehicle rolled down his window, took his headphones out of his ear, said sorry, and left the area. Coston stated he contacted the Newton Police to report the accident but was told he needed to come in person to file the report. Coston stated he was unable to come to the station to file the report until September 8, 2019. On Friday, September 13, 2019, I spoke with Gedeon Duarte at the Newton Police Department. Duarte stated he spoke Portuguese and did not speak English. With the assistance of David Sargent from the Language Line (1-800-225-5254) translating, I was to speak with Mr. Duarte in the Traffic Bureau. Duarte stated he was making a delivery at Whole Foods and was waiting for another truck to leave so he could leave the area. Duarte stated a male party (Coston) came up to his driver door and was yelling him. Duarte stated that due to language barrier he was unable to understand what the person was saying to him, but stated the male party was yelling, "Fuck you! Fuck you!" Duarte stated he did not know what was going on and stated he left the area to allow the male party to calm down. Duarte stated he returned a minute later the male party did not want to speak with him. Duarte stated he returned a second time later in the morning and Coston was not there. Duarte stated he received a call from his employer stating Kevin Coston had called for him and he was provided with Coston's phone number. Operator of MV#2 was apologetic and stated she had only had her license for two months. On 11/26/19 at 14:11 hours, I responded to Newton South High School located at 140 Brandeis Road for a two car motor vehicle accident involving a school transport van for the City of Newton and another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The road conditions at the time were dry and the weather was a mix of sun and clouds. Traffic conditions were heavy due to the release of school at the time. Operator of MV# 1 states he was operating straight ahead eastbound on Brandeis Road awaiting the backed up traffic in front of him that was entering the right roundabout for the main entrance to the high school. While doing so, he states that MV # 2 came up and passed him on the left to go around the traffic. MV # 2 then clipped his vehicle on the driver's side front quarter panel while passing him. I observed no visible damage to the quarter panel area and scuff marks to the left front rim which possibly were from the accident. Operator of MV # 2 states she was also operating straight ahead eastbound on Brandeis Road awaiting the backed up traffic in front. She states that once there was an opening in the roadway ahead of her, she signaled her left directional and started to pass traffic on the left. While doing so, she says that MV # 1 suddenly pulled out to the left without signaling and struck her vehicle on the front passenger side. I observed minor scuff marks to the front passenger quarter panel area and slight damage to the metal grate footstep on the passenger side. The operator was also transporting two students for the City of Newton through JSC Transportation Services at the time. Both students attend Newton South High School. Digital photos taken of the scene and damage.

Based on observations, and statements made, the following occurred. The operator of M/V#1 stated that at approx. 21:30 hrs. he parked M/V#1 in a parking lot behind, and parallel to 2011/2013 Chestnut St., in a clearly defined parking spot. M/V#2 appeared to have struck the right rear of M/V#1 pushing it several feet to the left, causing M/V#1's left rear door to impact on a steel balcony support pole (of 2011/2013 Chestnut St. causing damage to M/V#1's left rear door, but no apparent damage to the pole). It appeared that M/V#2 attempted to pull forward, causing damage a long the entire right side of M/V#1, and pushing it a few feet forward, then struck a hand rail causing the hand rail to bend inwards. M/V#2 had left behind a large amount of debris, including MA License Plate Veteran RG9. NPD Dispatch contacted Boston Police (E-5) and requested a unit got to 142 Wren St. Apt/ R1 and make contact with the owner of M/V#2. At approx. 0220 hrs, I contacted BPD (E-5) and was informed that Boston PD confirmed that M/V#2 was at 142 Wren St. with heavy front end damage, missing the front license plate. I was also informed that they made contact with the registered owner and advised him to contact Newton P.D. (See NPD incident report #20003150) After speaking to Robert Godnio, he informed me that his son Wayne Godino had been driving the vehicle on 01/17/2020 at approx. 2100 Hrs. I spoke to Wayne Godino, who stated that someone hit his car behind The Builtmore, and took off, then he left. I advised him that the evidence showed that he struck a parked car. Wayne asked how do you know? there weren't any pieces" I advised him that I recovered the license plate to his fathers car, and he stated "whatever". Charges will be sought for MGL C90 S24 Leaving the scene property damage.

Zhang stated while backing out of the spot she crashed into an unknown vehicle traveling Westbound through the parking lot. Zhang stated the only information she had for the other vehicle was that it was a large red and black truck. I observed damage to the rear trunk window of MV1. Zhang reported no injuries. Zhang stated she was unsure if she hit the vehicle or if something fell off of it as it was passing by. I went to several local businesses in the area in an attempt to view surveillance footage of the area where the accident occurred with a negative result. While canvassing the area for the other vehicle involved, I observed a red dump truck (MA CON: T71619) removing snow on the property next to Hammond Pond Parkway. The operator stated he has been working down that end of the parking lot for most of the morning and stated he was not involved in a crash. I observed no fresh damage to the vehicle consistent with a crash.

On 05/11/20 at 11:09 hours, I responded to the parking lot of All Star Liquors located at 1220 Chestnut Street for a two car accident involving a City of Newton vehicle. No injuries reported. On arrival, the vehicles had already parked back in to spots in the parking lot. I spoke to the operator of the city vehicle (MV# 1) identified as Brian Quiles who works for the City of Newton DPW Utilities Department. He was operating a 2019 Ford F550 dump truck color white bearing MA Official Tag# M3120A at the time. Mr. Quiles states he was operating eastbound attempting to exit the parking lot of 1220 Chestnut Street and turn left on to Oak Street. While attempting to exit the lot, he states that he stopped for a pedestrian crossing the street. At this point, he heard glass shatter but did not realize his truck was ever struck. He then got out and observed that MV# 2 backed in to the rear passenger side of his truck. There was no apparent visible damage to the city vehicle as a result of the accident. I then spoke to the operator of MV# 2 identified as John Deming who was operating a 2017 Honda CRV color green bearing MA reg.# RWCF30 at the time. He states he was parked in the last spot in the parking lot across from the All Star Liquors near the Oak Street entrance/exit. He then attempted to back up his CRV attempting to exit the lot. He says that he observed MV # 1 in the rear of him but thought he had enough room to back up around the truck. He says that he was using his back up camera and misjudged the distance and struck the passenger rear end area of MV# 1. As a result, his rear windshield shattered and he also sustained damage to his driver's side rear brake light cover area. Digital photos were taken of scene and submitted to the I.T. Bureau.

Narrative:
On 7/3/20, I met a party in the lobby of the NPD for a past hit and run report. The RP, Aleksander Duri ( MA Reg: 2LG632) stated he was parked in the Wegmans parking garage on 6/27/20. When Duri returned to his vehicle there was a note on it that said "I just saw a car hit your driver side back bumper. Teenage boy was driving, license plate 159XT5 Blue Subaru outback. If you have damage and need a witness you can call me [phone number in witness section]." MA Reg: 159XT5 comes back to a 2013 blue Subaru Outback registered to Emily Franklin-Strauss. In the census it lists three males who reside at the address in the same age group (DOB of 11/8/2001, 5/20/2004 and 7/2/1999). I attempted to call the phone number on file with negative results. There are cameras in the Wegmans garage however it did not capture the accident. Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): On Monday, July 6, 2020, I attempted to make contact with the registered owner of MV2, Emily Franklin-Strauss (S56184971), with a negative result. A Hit and Run inquiry was mailed to Ms. Franklin-Strauss. On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, I spoke with the operator of MV2, Samuel Strauss (S90135443), via telephone. Strauss stated he was operating MA: 159XT5 at the time of the crash in the parking garage. Strauss stated he was backing his vehicle up and heard a sound. Strauss stated he got out of his vehicle and looked for damage on the parked car he backed up into. Strauss stated he stayed on scene for 7-10 minutes and left after he observed no damage. Strauss stated a claim has been filed and insurance is now involved. Strauss stated he is an inexperienced driver and did not know what to do in a situation like this. Strauss was advised that if he is invovled in a crash in the future, he should contact the local police department in the city the the crash occurs in so the police can help faciliate an exchange of information. Strauss stated there was another passenger in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash named David Banteekhan. Strauss could not provde any other information for this party except that he lives in Newton and his Snapchat name is DDavid5935. I could not find any other information on this party. No injuries reported. Strauss is a student at Newton South High School. No futher action will be taken.

MV1 was parked in front of Silver Lake Laundromat in the parking lot at 230 Adams St. facing Eastbound. Owner of MV1 stated she was inside folding laundry between 2:30AM and 3AM. Stated that she discovered that her driver side head light was damage and had fallen off her vehicle around 3:30AM when clearing snow off her vehicle. Owner of MV1 stated that she believes that the driver of an unknown white truck that was plowing the parking lot had backed into her vehicle stricking the driver side headlight of her vehicle. I asked the owner if she saw the incident occur which she stated "no." I also if she had the plate or had any other description of the truck, which she replied "no." Photographs of the damage and the scene were taken and forward to the IT Bureau to be attached to this report. Owner of MV1 stated that she spoke to the operator of the white truck, and described him as a tall, older white male who was wearing a black hat and had dark mustache. This person was not on scene when I arrived and the owner of MV1 stated the operator of the unknown white truck stated that he had not hit her vehicle. Due to snow from an on going snow storm, I did not witness any vehicle tracks by her vehicle. There were also no security cameras in the parking that would of recorded the incident. On 12/17/20 I responded to #964 Boylston St- The B.P. Gas station for an accident that happened this morning at 02:35. The owner of the gas station Elias Ghazale showed me video that showed a white pick-up truck with a plow that pushed snow across Ramsdell St onto a customers car. When the truck pushed the first pass of snow, the security camera shows the entire vehicle move violently into the curb. It is unknown at this time if there is any damage to the customers vehicle. It is also unknown at this time who was operating the plow or the name of the company. Because of all the snow plowed up on the customers vehicle, the license plate and information on the vehicle is also unknown at this time. I traveled to Negoshians Towing and left a message asking the owner to call me at the station to follow up on this matter. On 12/18/20 I spoke with Elias Ghazale who gave me a Mass. Registration of 1WPG55 a 2009 Honda Odyssey grey van that is owned by a Sarkis E. Ghazale as the owner of the parked vehicle that was involved in this accident. I traveled to Ferguson Plumbing and spoke with the manager Eric Mackenzie who stated the landlord, Negoshians Towing deals with the snow removal for his property. I then traveled to Negoshians and spoke with the Owner Ted Negoshian. He stated his company is responsible for plowing the Ferguson lot. I showed him a security clip of the white truck plowing in the parked vehicle and Negoshian stated that he doesn't have any white trucks that plow for him only black ones. I then traveled to the City of Newton Highway Department and spoke with Superintendent Michael Arpino. I showed him the security video and he stated that the white truck in question was not a city owned or sub-contracted vehicle because the trucks would have a green flag on their mirrors or writing on the door. I also spoke with Newton Control Clerk Mark Parsons who viewed the City of newton GPS from the night of the storm and confirmed that no city vehicles or sub-contracted vehicles were on Ramsdell St between 2am and 3am. Unless new information on the identity of the white truck is learned, the vehicle in question (veh#2) will remain unknown. On 12/28/20 I spoke with Elias Ghazale's wife, Maria Vidalis wife who stated she was able to uncover the snowed in vehicle and found the following damage to Massachusetts Reg # 1WPG55: drivers door, front bumper, rear quarter panel scratches, drivers side fender and reports of leaking transmission fluid.. I then traveled to #964 Boylston St and viewed the vehicle myself and all confirmed the above damage except the transmission fluid.

The owner of MV 1, Tetianna Shvets was shopping at Baza grocery market while her vehicle, MV 1, was parked in the parking lot. When Tetianna returned to her vehicle there was a note on her windshield stating MV 2 struck her vehicle "possibly" on the right rear side and left the scene. The plate of the vehicle was left on the note as well. There was no contact information of the witness left on the note or any manner of collision. There was minimal damage (a few scratches) on MV 1. Andrew provided photos of the damage to the vehicle and the note left on the windshield. The photos of the damage and note are attached to this report. The plate came back to 79 Wheeler Rd in Newton. I went to the address to follow up with the operator of MV 2. I spoke with the owner and operator of MV 2, Mrs. Lyuba Regelman. Lyuba admitted to shopping at Baza grocery market today. Lyuba denied hitting MV1 and there was no damage to her vehicle I could see that matched the damage from the incident. I will not be seeking charges on Lyuba for leaving the scene because there is no contact information of the witness and there is no matching damage to MV 2.

On Friday 2/5/21 at approximately 0457 hours while assigned to marked unit n499 I was dispatched to 300 Boylston Street (Lifetime Fitness) for a report of a vehicle that drove into the security gate at the entrance to the parking garage. Upon arrival I spoke with SLOSS Mark (Security Officer) who stated a member of Lifetime Fitness was entering the parking garage and did not see the security gate down and drove into it. Impact caused the gate to bend in several areas and rendedered it inoperable in the down position. SLOSS contacted building maintenance and was awaiting their arrival. SLOSS further stated he works 4 days a week and the security gate is usuall lifted between 4 and 5 am every morning. SLOSS stated their are sometimes cones also blocking the gate, but not always, this morning was a busy morning and cones were not in front of the gate. After speaking with SLOSS I spoke with the operator, SHIELDS David, who stated he comes to the gym the same time every morning and the security gate is usually up, but when the gate is down it is difficult to see. He also had another member of the gym come talk to me and stated that the gate is difficult to see when it is in the down position. SHIELDS stated this morning he did not realize the gate was down and drove into it causing the damage. Upon my arrival I observed the entrance of the parking garage to be very well lit and the gate to be obvious.

On 03/30/2021, while assigned to N498, responded to Wegman's back parking lot, for a past hit and run. Upon arrival, I met with vehicle owner, MCCARTHY, who stated her daughter, FLOOD, was using the car and parked it in the back parking lot along the Florence Street side. FLOOD didn't notice until the following day that she could not open the passenger door due to it being hit. I observed a dent in front of the passenger door. MCCARTHY attempted to call Wegman's for video and they would not release it. I spoke to a manager who did not have access to the video at this time.

Narrative:
On Thursday 4/8/21 at approximately 0728 hours while assigned to marked unit n499 I was dipatched to the parking lot of Seasons 52 (220 Boylston St) for a report of a motor vehicle crash with minor injuries. Upon arrival I spoke with the operator (KRAUSE Liza) of MV#1 (Mazda CX-5). KRAUSE states she pulled into the parking lot from rte9 EB and was travelling straight when she observed a dump truck about to enter her lane of travel from the left. KRAUSE states she blew her horn, but the dump truck coninued on striking her vehicle on the drivers side rear. Impact from the collision caused significant damage to the drivers side of the vehicle in addition to deploying the side air bags in her vehicle. KRAUSE was evaluated by medics and refused transport to the hospital. She states she is uninjured just shaken up. Secondly, I spoke with the operator (BENNETT Paul A Jr) of MV#2 (KW Dump Truck). BENNETT states he was following another dump truck through the parking lot to the back exit on Florence Street to deliver asphalt to a construction job. In front of Seasons 52 he states he stopped at the stop sign and proceeded through unaware that MV#1 was in front of him striking the MV on the drivers side. There was no damage to the dump truck other than some marks on the front bumper. Motor vehicle crash occurred in a parking lot containing many stores, restaurants and a supermarket (Wegmans). Where the crash occurred was in front of Seasons 52 at a stop sign. At the stop sign is an island angled in such a manner to push vehicles to stay to the right and not make any turns. However, there are no signs displaying turning restrictions. The dump truck attempted to cross over the main entrance from rte9 to the parking lot containing the tent for SoulCycle and exit through the back of the parking lot. Vehicles entering from rte 9 do not have a stop sign and have the right of way to travel straight upon entry.

Motor vehicle 1 (MV1) was parked facing westbound in the parking lot of 200 Boylston Street when motor vehicle 2 (MV2) attempted to take a right turn into an adjacent parking spot (on the drivers side ) and side swiped MV1. MV2 then backed up and left the area in an unknown direction. As a result of the crash MV1 sustained minor rear drivers side damage. MV2 likely sustained minor front passengers side damage. Monica Carney, who was sitting in the front passengers seat at the time of the crash, described MV2 as a black sedan with a partial MA Reg. of "6LT". Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): I was able to obtain footage of the crash from Chestnut Hill Security. The video captures the crash from a distance. It showed a newer model black station wagon (possibly a Subaru) enter the parking area traveling North near MV1. MV2 is observed attempting to take a left turn into a vacant parking spot next to MV1's driver side. MV2's front driver side area is observed crashing into MV1's rear driver side area. MV2 then backs away from MV1 and continues through the parking lot towards Seasons 52 and leaves the area. I was unable to obtain the vehicle's registration. Chestnut Hill Security stated they will keep checking their camera system to obtain better footage of the crash. At this time I am unable to identify the vehicle and it's operator. The footage was submitted to the IT Bureau.

That's when she collided with MV#2. MV#2 is an unoccupied ambulance with its emergency lights on while medics were out assisting a patient. Medic J. Spratt was nearby and observed his truck shake and walked around and noticed MV#1 pulling away from the ambulance with damage to the corner of the vehicle. Pictures have been taken of both MV#1 and MV#2. Ambulance MV#2 has some old damage not related to this current accident. There doesn't appear to be any new damage to MV#2 from this current accident.

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Mr. Robert Drukman (S19413060) contacted the Newton Police Traffic Bureau to report a past hit and run crash. Mr. Drukman stated the crash occurred on Monday, August, 2, 2021, at the Jewish Community Center located at 333 Winchester Street, Newton sometime around 1600 hours. Mr. Drukman stated his vehicle was parked unoccupied in the parking lot and was struck by another vehicle. Mr. Drukman stated his 2017 Subaru Forester (MA: WA1/UIY) had damage to the driver side rear fender. Mr. Drukman stated a passersby forwarded pictures of the other vehicle involved in the crash. The other vehicle is a 2016 BMW 5 series (MA: 1691DR) registered to Mr. Richard Parker (S75189008). Mr. Drukman forwarded me the pictures he received and there is damage to the front passenger side bumper/fender area of this vehicle. These photos were submitted to the IT Bureau to be added to this report. I spoke with Mr. Parker via telephone. Mr. Parker stated he was operating his vehicle in the parking lot of the JCC at the time and date of the crash. Mr. Parker acknowledged his vehicle made contact with another vehicle while he was attempting to park. Mr Parker stated after making contact with the other vehicle, he exited that parking spot because it was too tight and parked in another parking spot. Mr. Parker stated there is no new damage to his vehicle and the damage I described in the pictures Mr. Drukman forwarded to me was old. I advised Mr. Parker that I was citing him for leaving the scene of property damage. Mr. Parker admitted to crashing into MV1 as he was attempting to park in the JCC parking lot. Mr. Parker knowingly made contact with another vehicle and made no effort to exchange information with the owner of the vehicle he crashed into. The pictures submitted by Mr. Drukman of his vehicle show obvious fresh damage as a result of a crash. After completing my investigation, Mr. Parker will be mailed Massachusetts Uniform Citation 089044AB for Chapter 90, Section 24 (Leaving the Scene of Property Damage). The public does have a right of access to the parking lot for the Jewish Community Center located at 333 Winchester Street, Newton.

On August 27th 2021, Miriam Nkuba DOB 6/30/56 came to Newton Police Headquarters to report a past hit and run. Nkuba states that around 1500 hrs today, she was shopping in Star Market at 1 Boyston St. When she exited the store and returned to her vehicle in the lot (MA reg 7CNJ50), there were security workers cleaning debris from around her car. Immediately apparent was damage to the rear left tail light/bumper area. The security workers then directed Nkuba to witness Kate Sweeney, who was able to provide a picture of MA reg 4AX435, a black Chevrolet Suburban. Sweeney told Nkuba that the Suburban had hit her car and left the scene. I called Sweeney and spoke with her directly. She relayed that she was in a nearby store and heard a loud crash. Her attention was directed outside to a black Suburban slowly driving with obvious front passenger side damage. The vehicle then stopped in a parking space, and a heavy set woman exited from the driver's seat to inspect the damage on the front right side. The woman then got back into the vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction. 4AX435 comes back active on a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban color black to Maria Dasilva Alves out of West Roxbury. I requested Boston PD E-5 try and raise Alves and have her contact me. It should be noted that Alves has an expired/non renewable license and appears from her license photo to be heavy set. Charges pending. *Update, 8/28/21- Boston PD had negative results locating Alves or the vehicle. Based on corroborating statements by the witness, MA uniform citation T1446618 will be mailed to Alves for 90/24 Leaving the Scene of Property Damage and 90/10 Unlicensed Operation.

Mv#1 was parked unoccupied opposite #8 Burrage Rd (N/B). #1 was sideswiped by an unknown Mv that left white paint transfer damage on #1's driver's side front end side and also struck the driver's side mirror all causing moderate damage. I spoke to the resident at 8 Burrage Rd. The resident stated a visitor in his house, Jonathan Kaplan, witnessed the accident. The resident stated Kaplan told him he observed a white sedan bearing MA Reg CIAF31 (Mv#2) attempting to parallel park between #1 and another Mv. During the attempt, #2 was observed sideswiping #1. Kaplan further stated a male operator got out of #2, left a note on #1 and drove away. Mv#1 owner/operator Ms Joan Beer stated no note was ever found. Later from HQ, I called the witness phone number provided (617-455-2557) by the resident of 8 Burrage Rd. I called that number, received VM and left a message. A query of #2 registration comes back on a '18 white Lexus G350 to a Mr Barry Benjamin of 79 Florence St #510S Newton. I received information Mr Benjamin's phone number was 339-223-0079. This number when called was not Mr Benjamin's. Later from HQ, I spoke to Ms Beer and provided her with the witness plate number observed as the paint color is a match to the damage sustained on her Mv. She was advised insurance company will investigate further based on current information received. Later, the witness Mr Kaplan returned my phone call and provided the following statement: Kaplan stated he was in his driveway outside directly across the street from where the accident was taking place. Kaplan stated the accident was very obvious as damage was unfolding while Mr Benjamin was attempting to squeeze between Mv#1 and another vehicle. Kaplan stated after realizing he (Mr Benjamin) could not fit he started to drive away. Kaplan stated it drew the attention of another witness (unknown) standing on the street when both walked up to Mr Benjamin's vehicle and asked him if he was going to leave a note for the damaged vehicles. Benjamin refused. Kaplan described Benjamin's overall demeanor as "rude." Kaplan stated he told Benjamin he has cameras capturing the incident. Not until then, Benjamin got out of his car and left a note on only the other vehicle reported to be minor license plate damage. Kaplan stated Benjamin never left a note on Mv#1, the vehicle with obvious moderate damage. Kaplan stated he actually viewed the note left on the other vehicle and said it was illegible. Kaplan told Benjamin this and Benjamin yelled to him "mind your own business" and drove away. Kaplan stated his ring doorbell camera was not positioned to capture any of the incident. Traffic Bureau update (Officer Gaudet): On September 8, 2021 I was able to make contact with the operator of MV2, Mr. Barry Benjamin (S42076881). Mr. Benjamin stated he was operating his 2018 Lexus G350 (MA: CIAF31) at the time of the crash. Mr. Benjamin stated he was backing his vehicle into a parking spot and the space ended up being too small. Mr. Benjamin stated the rear of his vehicle crashed into the front bumper area of MV1, knocking off it's license plate. Mr. Benjamin stated he got out of his vehicle and put the plate back on MV1. Mr. Benjamin stated he left a note in the vehicle with his contact information and left the area. I asked Mr. Benjamin if he was aware of making contact with another vehicle in the area. Mr. Benjamin stated he did not make contact with any other vehicle. Mr. Benjamin stated there was no damage to his vehicle and stated he would e-mail me pictures of his vehicle and pictures of MV1 that he took on scene. Those pictures were forwarded to the IT Bureau to be added to this report. Mr. Benjamin also stated in his e-mail, "My wife informed me that the homeowner who contacted the police called my wifes attention to a car up the street. The car was on the opposite side near a dirt road that had been side swiped earlier. My wife said, "That has nothing to do with us" and the homeowner agreed that that situation did not involve our car." At this time, no charges will be filed against Mr. Benjamin for leaving the scene of property damage.

On 9/7/21, Brooke Movitz DOB 5/6/99 came to NPD Headquarters to report a hit & run of MA reg 646NM7. Movitz states she was parked in the Newton Centre Lot in a row of parking stalls near Walgreens on the Langley Rd side. Around 1315 hrs, Movitz noticed damage to the left rear side of her vehicle. She stated that the vehicle parked next to her, MA reg 298MS7, had damage to the front left side and was parked at an angle that may suggest an improper turn into the parking spot (see diagram). Movitz was able to show me two pictures of minor damage to both vehicles, however I am not able to confirm that the damage is related to each other via the photographs. A white male with spiky hair in his 40's drove off in the vehicle, according to Movitz, but there was no interaction between the two. I was able to make contact with the owner of the vehicle in question, who told me that his son Daniel Suleski III DOB 4/10/92 was operating his car today. Suleski was able to be reached by phone and was adament that he did not hit another vehicle. Suleski did state he was parked in the Newton Centre Lot around the time in question. Officer Marini checked the area for any cameras that may record the area with negative results. Based on the totality of the facts presented, I am unable to reach a definitive conclusion at this time. Movitz was advised to contact her insurance company for further assistance.

On September 13, 2021 at approximately 17:32 hours I responded to the parking lot of Bloomingdales, 225 Boylston St for a report of a hit and run. I spoke with the operator of MV1 who said that she was traveling northbound on the parking lot roadway off of Boylston St by Bloomingdales Men's Store. MV1 was stopped at the stop sign when she observed what she believes to be a newer Mercedes SUV turn right onto the roadway and crash into the rear of her vehicle. MV1 exited her vehicle to try and get the driver's attention but the operator continued driving away. The operator of MV1 said that an MBTA bus was at the bus stop and saw the incident but was gone on my arrival. I was unable to locate any cameras in the area facing the crash location.

The owner of veh #1 stated she parked her vehicle in the parking lot of #141 Needham St (Sierra Trading Post & T.J. Maxx) at approximately 11:00. When she returned around 11:30, she noticed her rear drivers side quarter panel had been struck by a white vehicle. It appears the other vehicle struck her car as it was either pulling in or out of the parking space. I searched the lot for the other vehicle but was unable to locate it. I then went inside the Sierra Trading Post and spoke with the manager regarding security cameras. He stated that neither his store nor T.J. Maxx had cameras facing the parking lot.

On 9/20/21, Nipa Goud DOB 4/19/77 came to NPD Headquarters to report a past hit & run of MA reg 5RR913 ( vehicle #1). Goud states she was shopping in Johnson String 1029 Chestnut St on 9/15 around 1300 hrs when a good samaritan came into the store. He stated that the above mentioned vehicle had been hit in the parking lot. The witness is Allyn McCourt (617) 875-3457. He provided Goud with a description of an older female driving MA reg 2EE316. It was reported that she made contact with the rear of vehicle #1 and immediately left the scene. I spoke to Mccourt on the phone, who informed me that the woman was a white female between 60-70 yrs old. She appeared to be making a 3-point turn in the lot, hit a bush, then the rear bumper of vehicle #1. I asked Mccourt if there was any indication that the woman knew she hit vehicle #1, to which he stated "it certainly seemed so, because she motioned for me to move out of her way after she hit it". The vehicle was described by Mccourt as a blue sedan. MA reg 2EE316 comes back active on a 2011 blue Toyota Camry to Sergey Klepikov out of 1156 Chestnut St in Newton. QED shows a Vera Klepikov residing at that same address with a DOB of 12/22/52. I have left a message with the number on file for the Klepikov residence for Vera to contact me. Damage to vehicle #1 appears to be minor-moderate scraping from the picture I was shown by Goud. To be further investigated.

On 11/17/21 at 10:51 hours, I responded to the rear of the Newton Dept. of Public Works City Yard located at 74 Elliot Street for a crash that involved a city backhoe and a city contracted semi-trailer truck. No injuries were reported. On arrival, I spoke to the operator of the semi-trailer truck which is a 2006 Peterbilt Model 327 with MA APP Reg. # 3827B. The operator was identified as Robert Lawton (MA D/L # S92175566). Mr. Lawton works for Commonwealth Construction and Utilities which is owned by the Distefano Corporation in Watertown, MA. They are contracted with the City of Newton to remove debris such as concrete from the city yard. At the time, Mr. Lawton was standing on a ladder attached to the trailer overseeing it being loaded up by a city backhoe. The truck was parked and facing in a westerly direction. During the loading process, the backhoe was pulling forward towards the truck in a westerly direction. The front left side wheel of the backhoe struck the truck's driver's side rear mud flap area denting it. The mud flap is made of metal and covers the four rear tires from front to back. Both Mr. Lawton or the operator of the backhoe never realized the truck had been struck until another worker from Commonwealth Construction noticed it. The backhoe is a yellow 2014 JCB 3CX14 with MA Apportioned Reg. # M88532. The operator of the backhoe Michael Daniele (MA D/L # S43438211) works for the City of Newton Dept. of Public Works out of 74 Elliot Street. There was no damage to the backhoe. Digital photos taken.

On 12/13/21 at 11:04 hours, I responded to the Mount Ida Campus of UMASS Amherst located at 777 Dedham Street for a one car crash involving a City of Newton Department of Public Works vehicle. The crash occurred at a y type walkway/driveway near the Shaw Building dining hall. The weather at the time was clear and approximately 50 degrees and the road conditions were dry. On arrival, I spoke to the operator of the DPW vehicle identified as William Bertrand (MA D/L # S24973075 ). Bertrand was operating a 2016 Ford Escape color black bearing MA Municipal registration # M2534A at the time of the crash. He states that he was at the Shaw campus building to conduct an inspection and was parked at a y type walkway/driveway outside of the building. When leaving, he attempted to make a three point turn to exit the driveway. While backing, he states that his foot slipped transitioning from the gas to the brake and he struck a light pole near the edge of the driveway. He says the back up sensors never alerted him of the pole either. The Ford Escape sustained minor scrape marks to the driver's side rear bumper area. As a result of the impact, the light pole cracked at the base and was knocked over on to the ground. Campus Security was on scene and will notify school administration regarding the damage to the pole. I took digital photos of the scene and submitted them to the I.T. Bureau.

On Tuesday, March 01, 2022 at approximately 1609hrs, I, Officer Fay responded to 1340 Centre St. for a report of a past hit and run. Upon arrival I met with the owner of the vehicles son, William Redmond, who stated on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at approximately 9:30PM he parked his dad's vehicle, a black 2017 Ford Edge (MO plate EEON3z) at the bottom level of the parking garage at 1340 Centre St. William stated that when he returned to use the vehicle on March 01, 2022 at around 3:30PM he noticed a dent in the driver side door. I asked him if anyone else has driven the vehicle within that time, which he replied no and informed me that he did not recall seeing that damage before. Upon closer inspection of the vehicle, I noticed the damage appeared to be cover from dirt and salt from the road, making the damage appear to be old. I also noticed that the parking garage does not have security cameras. At this time it is unknown if the damage is old or if someone had struck his vehicle within the garage between February 27 and March 1st. I informed William that a report would be generated, at which he informed me that he has made his father, Christopher Redmond aware of the damage. The vehicle had minor damage to the door and the vehicle is considered safe to drive and left parked in the parking garage. A vehicle was parked next to William's vehicle, but William stated it was his coworkers and knew the vehicle was not parked next to his vehicle. I walked around his coworkers vehicle, which had no damage.
