V.1 Was stopped at the intersection of Walnut St and Comm Ave Southbound waiting for the traffic light to turn green when they were hit by V.2 in the rear of their vehicle. V.2 came to a complete stop behind V.1. When the left lane turn arrow turned green V.2 pulled forward a little and struck V.1 in the rear.There was no visible damage to either vehicle. Pictures were taken and turned into IT.

Narrative:
I responded to the area of Commonwealth Ave@Lexington st at approx 1610 hrs on 05/09/2019 for a report of a H&R/MVA. I arrived in the area and located Sarah Hamilton. Sarah informed me that she was on Comm. Ave (westbound) stopped attempting to turn left into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Sarah stated she was rear ended by a silver sedan operated by a female operator. Sarah spoke with the unidentified woman, who refused to exchange information. The woman returned to her vehicle and left the area. Sarah could not get the license plate, vehicle make /model. Sarah Hamilton complained of neck pain. EMS responded to medically evauate her. Sarah did not want to be transported to the hospital and signed a refusal/waiver with EMS. The only damage I observed to V1 was paint scratches along the rear bumper. The rear bumper was intact free of any dents/creases.

On Thursday July 16, 2020 at approximately 1714 hours I was dispatched to 118 Homer St for a past motor vehicle accident (MVA). Newton Dispatch advised the MVA took place at Commonwealth Ave at Washington St at approximately 1400 hours. I spoke with MV1 operator who stated she was stopped at the red light on Commonwealth Ave (west bound) at Washington St at approximately 1400 hours. Both streets are public ways. MV1 operator stated she was rear-ended by MV2. MV1 operator said she did not sustain any injuries at this time, nor did her MV sustain any damage. MV1 operator stated she and MV2 then pulled over on the other side of Commonwealth Ave and spoke with MV2 operator. MV1 operator said MV2 operator was an Asian male, approximately 45-50 years old, with glasses and dark hair. MV1 operator said she tried to exchange information with MV2 operator but that he did not address the issue and then left. MV1 operator said MV2 sustained minor hood damage due to MV1's hitch. MV1 operator said she was able to take a photo of MV2 registration, which she forwarded to my email. MV1 owner stated he was not going to notify his insurance due to his MV not sustaining damage. Regardless, I advised him the procedure if he decided differently. MV1 owner was satisfied with an accident report.

MV#1 was yielding to a pedestrian crossing the road prior to turning southbound onto Hobart Rd. As MV#1 was stopped, they were rear ended by MV#2. MV#1 sustained minor damage to its rear end, while MV#2 sustained heavy front end damage with air bag deployment. All party's declined medical attention. Todys's Towing Service was contacted to remove MV#2 from the roadway, while MV#1 was able to be driven away from the scene.

Vehicle #1 stated he was traveling southbound on hammond st. Vehicle #1 stated he was stopped at the red light and once the light turned green, he proceeded through the intersection when he witnessed Vehicle #2 speed into the intersection and he was unable to stop. Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #2 in the rear right side. Vehicle #2 stated they were traveling westbound on commonwealth ave when they stated they had a green light and drove through the intersection. Vehicle #2 stated they were struck from the side by Vehicle #1. A witness who was in Vehicle #3 behind Vehicle #1 stated they were stopped at a red light on hammond st. and when the light turned green she witnessed Vehicle #2 blow the red light and was struck by Vehicle #1. The witness stated she and Vehicle #1 had a solid green light at the time they entered the intersection. At the time of the crash there were four parties inside Vehicle #2. After the crash Vehicle #2 left the scene after they thought Vehicle #1 had left and dropped off two passengers before returning to the scene of the accident. I spoke with the two passengers who were not present at the scene who both stated they were inside Vehicle #2 at the time of the crash and Vehicle #2 had a clear red light which they failed to stop for. One of these passengers was complaining of a head injury and was currently at a hospital being evaluated. Vehicle #1 had moderate damage to the front of the vehicle and was able to be driven away. Vehicle #2 had moderate damage to the right rear side and was able to be driven away. All drivers and passengers on scene were asked if they were injured which they stated they were not and declined any medical attention. Due to multiple witnesses stating Vehicle #2 failed to stop for the red light, a citation was issued to the driver for MGL 89/9 Fail to stop/red light on MA Uniform Citation T2080447

MV1 operator stated he was operating southbound on Grant Ave prior to Commonwealth Ave (both public ways ) and was attempting to travel straight through the intersection. MV1 operator stated MV3 (unknown white colored mini-van, driven by an unknown elderly white female) was operating northbound before Grant Ave, attempted to take a left onto Commonwealth Ave westbound. MV1 operator stated MV3 made the turn suddenly and did not yield the right of way to him, forcing him to swerve to avoid an accident with MV3. MV1 operator said because he had to swerve suddenly, the front end of his MV struck MV2 driver side which was stopped on Commonwealth Ave eastbound at Grant Ave. MV1 operator said MV3 was not struck and continued westbound on Commonwealth Ave. MV1 sustained heavy front end damage, and was towed by Tody's. MV1 operator reported no injuries at this time. MV2 operator stated she was stopped on Commonwealth Ave eastbound at Grant Ave. MV2 operator's story collaborated with MV1's story. MV2 operator said she witnessed MV3 suddenly cut off MV1 by taking a sharp left at the intersection, failing to yield the right of way to MV1. MV2 operator stated because MV1 had attempted to avoid a MVA with MV3, MV2's driver side was struck by MV1. MV2 sustained heavy driver side damage, and was towed by Todys. MV2 passenger was an infant that was checked by medics and appeared to be uninjured at this time, MV2 operator stated she struck her head on the driver side window and was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for an evaluation. MV3 was unlocated at this time. Photos of the accident were taken and forwarded to the I.T. Bureau.
