Newton Firefighter Lawrence Quinn stated that on 02/23/2022 at 16:54 hours he was driving Newton Fire Department Ladder Truck 3 west bound on Murphy Ct. Three other Newton Fire Fighters were on board Ladder truck 3 along with Quinn . Quinn stated that there were two unoccupied vehicles parked near the intersection of Murphy Ct and Hawthorn St facing west bound. Quinn also stated that there was another unoccupied vehicle parked facing south bound on Hawthorn St at the intersection of Murphy Ct. Quinn stated that due to the narrow width of Murphy Ct and the parked vehicles it was difficult to make a left turn onto Hawthorn St from Murphy Ct. Quinn stated that he had to drive Ladder Truck 3 over the south east corner sidewalk at the end of Murphy Ct to turn left. Quinn stated that while turning left onto Hawthorn St the rear passenger side of Ladder Truck 3 struck the two parked vehicles on Murphy Ct. None of the involved vehicles required a tow and there were no injuries. I took photos of the involved vehicles. All roadways in this report are pubic ways in the City of Newton.
