Operator of MV1 states she was driving westbound on Beacon St. She states she was driving through a green light at Walnut St, when her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by MV2. MV2 was traveling southbound and went through a red light prior to colliding with MV1. Operator of MV2 stated she was "at fault". She was issued in hand MA citation #T1444149 for 89/9, Fail to Stop, Yield. Both vehicles were towed by Todys. Initially both parties refused medical attention. After the accident was cleared, Operator of MV2 admitted the accident was a suicide attempt. She was transported to NWH voluntarily by Cataldo EMS.

MV1 was travelling WB on Beacon St when MV2 cut across his lane of travel causing him to strike the passenger side of MV2. MV2 was attempting to turn NB onto Walnut St from Beacon when he was struck by MV1. Operator 2 states he believed he had enough time to make it across the intersection and believes MV1 was speeding. Operator 1 states he was operating at the speed limit (30MPH) and MV2 cut in front of him. Both parties had the green light at the intersection. No injuries reported by any party. Parent of operator 2 signed a patient refusal based upon the operators age. Both vehicles were towed due to air bag deployment. MV1 sustained minor damage to the front end. MV2 sustained moderate damage to the passenger side.

Operator of MV1 stated while stopped at the red light, facing northbound on Walnut Street, MV2 struck the rear bumper of her vehicle. Operator of MV2 stated while stopped in the right lane on Walnut Street facing northbound, behind MV2, he saw the left turn signal turn green and proceeded forward. As he proceeded forward he rear ended MV1. MV1 had minor damage to the rear bumper. MV2 had minor damage to the front bumper. Operator of MV1 stated she felt dizzy and was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital. MV1 was left at the Whole Foods Parking Lot, employees were notified.

MV 1 was traveling northbound on Walnut street and struck MV 2 traveling in the opposite direction. MV 2 was traveling southbound on Walnut Street and was struck by MV 1 traveling in the opposite direction. The accident was reported at Walnut St and Beacon St. MV 1 reportedly crossed the double yellow lines into MV 2's lane. There was a BOLO announced over the air for MV 1 because it was reported as leaving the scene. MV 1 was found and stopped at Walnut St at Homer St. It was determined that the operator of MV 1 was under the influence. The operator was placed under arrest. There were no injuries to either party. The children were in MV1. The children were transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital and assessed for possible injuries. Both vehicles were towed by Tody's. MV1 sustained significant damage and was not able to be driven away. The operator would have been aware of the accident based on the level of damage.

The operator MV1 of stated that he was traveling Southbound on Walnut St attempting to turn left and travel Eastbound on Beacon St when MV 2 attempted to pass MV 1 and side swiped the right side of MV 1. The operator of MV 2 stated that MV 2 was attempting to take a left onto Beacon St and MV 1 attempted to illegally pass MV 2 on the left hand side causing a collision. Fire and EMS responded as well but there were no injuries sustained to either party. MV 2 was towed by Tody's due to it being disabled on a public way.

The operator of MV1 stated that she was traveling north bound in the left hand turn lane on Walnut street in front of the Mobile station. Operator had to stop short because she did not think she could make it through the yellow light causing MV2 to rear end her vehicle. The operator of MV2 stated that MV1 stopped short not giving them enough time to stop, subsequently causing MV2 to rear end MV1. There was no damage to MV2 and insignificant damage to the rear bumper of MV1. Neither operator was injured and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

On Monday November 23rd, 2020 at approximately 1211 hours I responded to the intersection of Beacon Street and Walnut Street for a motor vehicle accident involving a city owned vehicle. Beacon Street and Walnut Street are both owned and maintained by the City of Newton. At the time of the accident the weather was rainy and the road surface was wet. Upon arrival I spoke with the operator of MV1 identified as Cameron McMaster (S69781203). He stated he was operating MA REG; 949DV4 and was behind MV2 which was stopped at the red light heading north on Walnut Street. MV1 attempted to turn into the right turn only lane when he sideswiped MV2. The operator of MV1 reported no injuries and was able to leave the scene. The operator of MV2 identified as Michael Sanford (S78122480) stated he was operating a City of Newton DPW truck MA REG; M6406A and was stopped at the red light at the intersection heading northbound on Walnut Street. MV2 stated he was struck on the back passenger corner of the truck by MV1 who was attempting to pass by him on the right hand side. Minimal damage was reported on the truck. The operator of MV2 reported no injuries and was able to leave the scene. Photographs of both vehicles and their damage was taken and submitted to the IT Bureau.

Mv#1 operator stated he was behind Mv#2 on Walnut St N/B preparing to turn left on Beacon St W/B. #1 stated on the green light he proceeded to drive around #2 by entering the left turn lane. #1 stated as he passed by #2's trailer first where the left lane opening begins as marked by the white lines, #2 truck body veered left crashing into #1 passenger side front. #1 sustained two passenger side flat tires and moderate damage to passenger side front door hinge area. #1 was later asked on scene if he crossed the marked double yellow lines while driving around #2. #1 stated he did not and pointed out the exact spot where he stayed within his lane where the left lane started. Mv#1 was left in the Mobil garage parking lot at this intersection where he arranged to have his flat tires and/or rims repaired. #2 operator stated #1 was directly behind him in traffic. There was a slight language barrier with #2. #2 stated as he proceeded to enter the left turn lane on the green light, at the same time #1 reversed from behind him and then drove around him on the left causing the collision. #2 stated #1 drove around the double yellow lines at the time of the collision. #2 sustained moderate damage to driver's side wheel, tire and front end. Mv#2 arranged a private tow from the Mobil garage parking lot.

The operator of MV#1 stated he was travelling southbound on Walnut St making a right turn onto Beacon St when he went over the curb (Snow mound) and struck a utility pole. The operator of MV#1 stated he suffers from a neurological medical condition and typically walks with a folding walker. He was evaluated by Newton Paramedics and signed a patient refusal of treatment. While he was speaking to the Paramedics, it was apparent that he was unstable on his feet but was able to walk on his own will. His portable walker was located in the back seat of his vehicle. He appeared to be of sound mind. His daughter in-law picked him up and drove him home. MV#1 sustained damages to its passenger side front wheel area. MV#1 was towed by Tody's Towing. The utility pole (Boston Edison pole #31/107) that was struck is located on Walnut St southbound at the intersection of Beacon St westbound. The pole sustained minor damages to its base. Traffic Officer took pictures of the damaged pole and Boston Edison was notified. Based on the statements made to me and the health condition of the operator of MV#1, I believe his continued operation would constitute an immediate threat to the public safety. A request for immediate threat of license suspension/ revocation form was completed and emailed to the R.M.V.

ON 4-2-21 AT APPROX. 1419HRS. WHILE WORKING N492 I TOOK A REPORT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT HIT AND RUN. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF WALNUT AND BEACONST. I SPOKE TO THE OPERATOR OF VEHICLE #1. DRIVER STATES SHE WAS TRAVELING N-BOUND ON WALNUT ST. STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. SHE NOTICED VEHICLE #2 WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY. DRIVER STATES SHE MOVED UP IN THE TRAFFIC LANE SO VEHICLE #2 COULD BACK OUT. SHE STATES WHILE BACKING VEHICLE #2 HIT HER VEHICLE. AS SHE PULLED OVER TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION VEHICLE #2 SPED AWAY. VEHICLE #1 STATES SHE HAS MINOR DAMAGE TO HER LEFT REAR TIRE. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT VEHICLE #2 BY PHONE AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL. I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM HER SINCE THE WRITING OF THIS REPORT. VEHICLE #1 REPORTED NO INJURIES AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT HER INSURANCE COMPANY. CLEARED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. Traffic Bureau Update (Officer Gaudet): On Monday, April 5, 2021, I attempted to make contact with the registered owner of MV2 (Ms. Sarah Bonfanti) with a negtive result. A "Hit and Run" inquiry was mailed to Ms. Bonfanti's listed address.

Operator of MV1 states she was traveling southbound on Walnut Street entering the intersection at Beacon Street when MV2 failed to yield to MV1 by attempting to take a left hand turn onto Beacon Street westbound causing MV2 to crash into MV1. MV1 sustained damage to the front left fender and was towed from the scene. Operator of MV2 states he was traveling northbound on Walnut Street approaching the intersection at Beacon Street where he wanted to make a left hand turn onto Beacon Street westbound. Operator of MV2 states the left arrow traffic signal was yellow then turned green and he still proceeded to take a left hand turn while there was oncoming traffic traveling southbound on Walnut Street. Operator of MV2 states he failed to yield to MV1 causing MV2 to crash into MV1. MV2 sustained front end damage and was towed from the scene. Operator of MV2 was issued in hand Massachusetts Uniform Citation #T2012867 for MGL Ch. 89 Sec. 8 Fail to Yield, Right of way No injuries reported.

Operator of Motor Vehicle # 1 stated he was stopped at the red light on Beacon Street traveling Eastbound. He then proceeded to turn left once his left turn green arrow light when on. Operator of Motor Vehicle #1 stated that as he was traveling Northbound on Walnut street he was struck on the passengers side door panel by vehicle #2 causing moderate damage. Operator of Motor Vehicle #2 stated she was traveling Westbound on Beacon Street and took a right turn onto Walnut Street and struck motor vehicle #1 causing minor damage to her left front bumper. Operator of Motor Vehicle #2 stated that she thought she had the right of way and did not see vehicle #1.

Operator of MV1 states he was traveling northbound on Walnut Street and entered the left turn only lane at the intersection of Walnut Street and Beacon Street. Operator of MV1 states while entering the left turn only lane, a pedestrian appeared from behind a car that was in the straight only lane and he struck her at a very low rate of speed with the front end of MV1. Operator of MV1 states the pedestrian said she was fine and kept walking across the street. Operator of MV1 states he pulled into the parking lot of the Walgreen's, got out of his vehicle and attempted to speak with the pedestrian again, which she waved him off stating she was fine and walked away from him. Operator of MV1 at this time left the scene believing the pedestrian was not injured. No damage to MV1. The pedestrian, Elizabeth Kennedy, states she was walking across Walnut Street (not in the crosswalk) when she entered the left turn only lane on Walnut Street and was struck by MV1. Ms. Kennedy states she hit the ground, but got back up and told the operator of MV1 she was fine and he left the scene. Ms. Kennedy complained of knee and elbow pain. Fallon Medics evaluated Ms. Kennedy and she signed a patient refusal, but stated she will have someone transport her to Tuft's medical center.

On Saturday, January 22, 2022 at approximately 1903hrs, MV1 was stopped at the intersection of Walnut St and Beacon St. when MV2 traveling Northbound on Walnut St. rear ended MV1. I asked the operator of MV1 if he was okay and if he would like to be evaluated by paramedics, which he replied "no." MV1 sustained minimal damage, consisting of a cracked rear bumper. Operator of MV1 stated he believed the operator of MV2 was under the influence of alcohol because the operator kept repeating himself. The operator of MV2 was no longer on scene, but Ofc. Boyle, who also responded to the call was able to make contact with the operator. It was concluded the operator was not under the influence, but had been repeating himself because he could not understand the other operators language. The operator of MV2 stated he spoke over the phone with MV1's niece, Nawarath Kluaypanngam, in order to exchange information. Operator of MV2 stated that he was not paying attention and thought the operator of MV1 was going to continue to drive forward. He stated he did not expect to see the brake lights in front of him and was unable to stop in time, causing him to rear end MV1. MV2 stated that his vehicle sustained no damage and also refused medical attention. Both vehicles were operational and the operators of MV1 and MV2 were informed a report would be generated.

Operator of MV1 states he was in bumper to bumper traffic in the westbound lane on Beacon Street approaching the intersection at Walnut Street when he was rear ended by MV2. MV1 sustained minor damage to the rear fender. No injuries. Operator of MV2 states she was in bumper to bumper traffic in the westbound lane on Beacon Street approaching the intersection at Walnut Street when the brakes on MV2 failed and she rear ended MV1. MV2 sustained minor to no front end damage and had a private tow remove the vehicle from the scene. No injuries.

Operator of MV1 states he was traveling on Beacon Street somewhere in the area by Walnut Street when a green garbage truck (unknown make, model or registration plate) backed into his companies work truck and damaged the front windshield. Operator of MV1 states he doesn't think the operator of the garbage truck knew he struck MV1 and left the scene. Operator of MV1 will be contacting his employer for a private tow. No injuries.
